“Are you sure you want to do this?” Mr. Wu’s forehead creased with worry as he looked at her daughter. You sat at the end of the stairs, your head carefully leaning on the railings.

“Yes Papa.” You breathed out, your voice hoarse.

“Whatever happened between you and Baekhyun, don’t you think you should at least talk to him? Let him explain?” Your father chided. He was worrying, but he knows he can’t do anything to change your decision. Your mother closed her eyes for a brief moment and spoke.

“An Ran, do you even trust Baekhyun?”

With that you fell silent. Yes, you trusted him. You know leaving without saying anything was wrong. But there’s something stopping you from doing all the right things.

Fear.

“An Ran, answer me.” Your mother calmly persuaded, her eyes melting into your soul. You nodded weakly, unable to suppress another round of tears.

“I do. It’s just that I’m afraid, Mama. I trust him, yet I’m afraid to find the truth. What if it’s true?” You sobbed, holding on to the railings with shaking hand. Your father approached your broken state and helped you up, letting you stain his clothes with your tears.

“What if it’s not?” He whispered softly on to your ear, caressing your back as you sobbed.

“Pa, ma. Just give me time to overcome this fear. I just need time for myself. I promise, if I get over this stupid feeling, I’m going to talk to him. I can’t face him right now, I can’t. Not now when I’m like this.”

Your mother slowly nodded and pulled you into her comforting embrace. “You should learn how to be brave An Ran. Face whatever the truth is.”

“I will be, Mama. I will be.”

“And Ma? Pa?” You started again, getting your parents’ attention. They turned to you in an instant.

“Can we keep this all a secret? Even to Gege? I just need time alone, and I don’t want to burden and worry the other Oppas too.”

“About your departure?” Mr. Wu asked.

You shook your head. “About the things that I found out. Baekhyun Oppa…” You trailed off, not wanting to drown into tears again.

“The things you’re going to confirm when you come back.” Your mother stated, her eyes fixed on yours. You nodded. “I promise, Mama. I will talk to him.”

“What stupidity are you thinking about?!” Kris stormed in the room, his brows knitted together. Your father had to calm him down, his temper issues were rising again.

“I just need to take time off, okay?” You tried to convince him, but he was not letting you change his thoughts. “Wu An Ran. You can’t just leave all of a sudden.Time off? What are you, a working woman?! You’re just lurking around here. Don’t think that I’m already allowing you to go back to China. You’ll just get back to your ways! I thought you wanted to change?!” He seethed.

It was getting harder and harder to convince your brother. “Ge, I did the deal. I changed for the better. Why are you still prohibiting me?”

“Because you made it clear to me that you like it here.”

“I do.”

He rolled his eyes. “Why leave?”

“Can’t I just visit China? Is it so wrong to go back to the place where I grew up?” You whined. Kris was getting annoying to you. It irked you more when he orders you around like this, not knowing anything.

“So… you’re coming back? You just want to visit?”

You remained silent. Your parents looked at you too, anticipating an answer.

Kris grew irritated with the silence. “Baekhyun is here in Korea, An Ran. You can’t just leave him. It’s a visit, okay?”

You looked at your mom and Dad with knowing eyes. “… yes, Ge.”

“Hao le.” He relaxed with contentment, handing you the tickets hesitantly. “Good thing its just a visit. I thought you were really leaving. I thought you fought with ByunBaek.” Kris sighed, relieved. You just gave him a small smile as you accepted the tickets bound for China.

“Wait, did you tell him you’re going to China?”

Mr. Wu looked at you worriedly. Deep inside, you were trying hard to look composed in front of your brother. “I’m going to. That’s why… I need to leave now so I can pass by the unit for a while.”

Kris’ brow rose as he squinted his eyes; doubtful. “…Okay. I’ll send you there.”

“No need! The driver will send me there. Get your rest, Oppa.”

“But, I’m heading the—“

“Yi Fan, I forgot to tell you. We’re meeting investors tonight at 8.” Your father cut him off, saving you. You smiled at his direction and looked at Kris. He looked baffled at the same time confused.

“Arraso, Papa. You take care and come back quickly, Wu An Ran.” He nodded before enveloping you in his arms.

BAEKHYUN

Until now, I don’t know why Minhee’s missing. Usually she would answer my calls or something. Why is she being like this?

“Kris is with his dad. They have a meeting of some sort to attend.” Chen plopped beside me, his eyes lacking the usual glint of happiness.

“Jongdae… are you bothered?” I asked. He looked at me with those unfamiliar eyes and shrugged. “I don’t know. I just feel something bad is going to happen…”

“Like what?” Luhan entered, his hair disheveled, his eyes still puffy.

Chen smiled an empty smile. “Nothing. Maybe it’s just me.”

“Kris called. Minhee’s going to China for a short visit. She’ll pass by here now.” Suho smiled as he entered the living room, particularly to me. I think my friends are really trying to stop me from thinking of negative things. As much as I want to, with all the Yura drama, it’s getting quite hard not to worry.

I should really tell Minhee about Yura NOW.

Why is she leaving so sudden?

She’s already allowed to fly to China?

Short visit…?

Chanyeol woke me up from my senses by throwing a plushie at my face.

“What the heck?” I protested, annoyed.

He just returned a goofy smile. “Don’t worry. She’ll come. Just wait, Baek.”

Yeah, I should not worry.

But something’s different. Somehow, I feel what Chen feels.

Something bad… is bound to happen?
