NARRATOR

“What do you mean she’s not here yet?” You whined, frowning. Baekhyun shushed you by placing his hand on your shoulder. L.joe chuckled and ordered you to sit.

It was already six in the evening, and you and Baekhyun just arrived to the resto L.joe picked for the dinner.

“She got stuck on traffic jam. Easy missy.” He chuckled.

You pouted, looking at the menu. “Sorry, just hungry.”

“Beast wakes up when hungry.” Baekhyun nodded at L.joe. You just gave him a cold look.

After a few minutes, Yura, L.joe’s girlfriend arrived. She hurriedly entered the resto and jumped to L.joe’s arms. In return, L.joe chuckled, caressing her hair. “You’re late.”

Yura tightened the embrace. “Sorry.” She mumbled.

Baekhyun pulled you to stand up. He gave you a warm smile and squeezed your hand.

“Be nice.” He whispered. You nodded like a little child.

The couple broke free from the hug. As Yura her heel, you felt Baekhyun’s body tense. He tightened his grip on your hand as he froze. You looked at him worriedly.

“Oppa, are you okay?”

His lips pressed into a thin line, his eyes slightly widened. “..Y..yes.”

Yura’s lip twitched a little when she saw Baekhyun’s expression. She had anticipated this. But, careful as she is, she grinned widely, being the bright sunny girl Yura L.joe fell in love with.

“Oh, Yura, meet Baekhyun. Minhee’s boyfriend. Baekhyun, this is Yura.” L.joe smiled proudly. Yura cheerfully extended her hand.

 “Hi.” She beamed.

Baekhyun looked at Yura’s hand with mixed emotions. He nodded, slowly shaking the hand and quickly pulling away. Little beads of sweat started to trickle down his forehead.

The meal went on. L.joe animatedly told random stories and stuff, with you and Yura laughing. Baekhyun concentrated on his food, and sometimes outside the view.

L.joe noticed Baekhyun’s change of attitude. He worriedly looked at him as he stabbed the meat nonchalantly. He exhaled and gave you a look, pointing to Baekhyun.

You nodded, shrugging.

Yura hid her smile as she noticed you and L.joe wordlessly exchange thougts. She scoffed a little when she saw Baekhyun avoid her eyes.

 *It’s working.* She victoriously nodded at herself.

"So, Baekhyun-sshi, tell us more about Minhee." Yura grinned. L.joe smiled too, anticipating an answer. Baekhyun uneasily squirmed on his seat. He coughed and slowly took a sip from his glass. "Uh, well.."

You looked at him and playfully tugged on his shirt. "Tell them the truth. I'm a good girl." 

He chuckled, but instead it sounded like he choked. "You're not." He smiled and poked your nose. Somehow, diverting his attention to you helped him regain his composure. He decided to go with the flow.

"Ya!" You whined, hitting him playfully.

Baekhyun scruched his nose and s his arm on your waist, pulling you closer to him.

"Well, this girl right here may be so annoying at times, and weird, but I love her." He smiled, only looking at L.joe. 

Yura's brows furrowed with the intimacy. She gripped her glass tighter. On the corner of his eye, Baekhyun noticed it. He bit his lower lip and continued avoiding her gaze.

"Yeah, that girl right there came from another planet." L.joe added, laughhing. Baekhyun laughed with him as he nuzzled on your hair.

"My piggy." He cooed, for a while forgetting the fact that Yura was watching.

But unkown to everyone, Yura was not just watching. She was watching with something firing up inside her.

Anger.

Time flew quickly. Baekhyun set his eyes straight to the road as he drove silently, his hands tight on the steering wheel. You looked at him worriedly, wanting to read his mind.

“Oppa, is there something wrong?” You finally gained the courage and asked. He glanced at you and smiled, setting his eyes back on the road. “Nothing’s wrong, Minhee.”

“But, you looked somehow... sick and bothered.”

He chuckled, but somehow it sounded wrong. “I’m fine, really. My… head just hurts a little. I just need sleep, I think.”

You nodded, silently contemplating on the situation.

As soon as you guys arrived at the unit, Kris greeted you with his bored expression.

“How did it go?” He asked, his voice monotonous.

Baekhyun smiled a little, a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “T’was good. Beware of yoru mom Kris.” He whispered the last part.

You giggled. “Yeah, beware.” You brushed past your brother and gave him a cheeky smile.

“I’m going to sleep. Goodnight Gege, Good night Oppa!”

Baekhyun smiled at your figure walking away. His smile quickly faded as he slumped on the couch.

“Kris.” He called. Kris turned to look at his friend. He knows something is wrong, just from Baekhyun’s eyes.

“She’s back. Yura.”

“Mworago?” Kris’ voice got a little higher as his brows furrowed. The name irked him, and he felt his hands clench.

“She’s L.joe’s girlfriend.” Baekhyun breathed out.

The two of them remained silent for a while, deep in thought. Kris closed his eyes for a brief moment and looked at Baekhyun worriedly.

“Do… you think she’s cured already?”

Baekhyun’s head slowly snapped up. “I don’t know too.”

Kris sensed Baekhyun’s fear and squeezed his shoulder.

“Don’t worry, I think she's not back for that reason."

Baekhyun exhaled. "I hope Yi Fan. I hope."
