Baekhyun ran as fast as he can towards the deserted alley. His mind was occupied, too much, just with different possibilities. And it’s killing him.

What if you’re the girl?

What if you’ve been touched?

What if that man brought you somewhere?

His fist curled as he neared the dark alley. He walked straight into it, expecting to hear any sounds or cries. But he almost reached the other end of the alley, there was no one. Not even a single hint of breathing.

He ran back to search, but none. Again, one possibility ran up his mind.

What if you were kidnapped?

A loud scream of frustration escaped his mouth, as his fists met with the hard concrete wall.

“This can’t be..” He whispered, tears threatening to come.

But he held it in, being the strong man he is.

It took him just a few seconds to build up energy and run back to the food stall. Kai was there with a troubled expression. He tried to follow Baekhyun but he lost him. He decided to wait there.

“What’s the matter, hyung?” He ran to Baekhyun’s fuming state. He was surprised to see him like that.

Desperate, determined, fuming.

“Where’s the nearest bathroom?” He hissed, making Kai flinch.

“I don’t know, I think—“

“Kim Jong In! Nearest Bathroom!” Baekhyun growled. Kai stepped back from his hyung.

“Hyung, a..are you..?” Kai stuttered, terrified. Baekhyun never gets angry. But when he does, it’s the Hulk meets Thor. And it gotta be serious.

 Baekhyun shook his head, trying to calm himself. Then he babbled the words like blur. “Minhee. Where is she? I heard screams and cries and a man and I don’t know what to do. What if she’s hurt, we should find her fast, let’s call help from authorized personnel and—“

“What drink did you buy, Oppa?” Your voice chimed behind him.

“And now I’m hearing voices! I’M GOING CRAZY WE SHOULD JUST—“ Kai stopped Baekhyun by holding his shoulders and turning him around to face you.

You were standing there, blinking innocently. “So…?”

Baekhyun’s eyes widened. He ran to you in an instant and hugged you tight, as if he’s securing you. He held your head tight against his chest while he struggled to regain himself.

“Oppa, are you… okay?” You asked, still in his arms. Your heart hammered against your chest, shocked with Baekhyun.

Kai, despite the situation, was smiling. *You did it Minhee. You got him just like that.*

Baekhyun didn’t let go. He was breathing heavily. “You’re safe.” He breathed out.

“I am. Why? What happened? I just went to the restroom.” You innocently looked at him. He slowly pulled away but cupped your chin in his hands.

“Please.” He shut his eyes for a moment and looked back at you. “Don’t get yourself hurt.”

You looked at his eyes, filled with concern and sincerity. Butterflies floated on your tummy in an instant. Your head was spinning with colors. Baekhyun’s face was so close.

“I… I….”

But before you could finish whatever you need to say, he pulled you again, enveloping you in his arms lightly. It wasn’t tight anymore, just… perfect. His hand caressed your back, and you could feel his rapid breathing.

After Baekhyun testified to the police what he heard, the three of you went back home. Baekhyun was silent all throughout the ride. Thoughts were like whirlwind on his mind. You just sat there, also deep in thought.

*He was so worried. Baekhyun Oppa.. he…* You looked at him through the mirror, his face hard. You looked away togather thoughts on your mind.

Kai was also troubled for some reason. His hyung was not speaking, and it made him curious.

When you arrived at the unit, the others were already fast asleep. It was already 2.30 in the morning. Kai kissed your cheek good night; Baekhyun just proceeded to his room and shut it close. You looked at the door he closed longingly.  *I troubled him.. Mianhe Oppa.*

Baekhyun, as usual, lay flat on his bed. He stared at the ceiling as if his thoughts would transfer there. He was thinking of only one person, yet it was so much to take in.

He didn’t expect himself to react like that. He didn’t know why he got so worked up even if he wasn’t sure if you were the one in danger. He was trembling with fear, and he didn’t know why. The mere fact that it could have been you troubled him.

And now, he was sure of one thing. Even if he tried to shake it off, it’s there. He knows it. There’s no way denying it.

“Wu An Ran..” He muttered, looking at empty space.

He closed his eyes and steadied his breathing.

“I’m deeply in love with you.” He whispered before his thoughts finally came to rest.
