Letters“Hey, could you grab that tie?” YoonGi asked as he straightened his collar in the mirror. He still had no clue how he was gonna survive the night.
He could very well have been wasting time inside just this once, after a particularly rough shift last night at the bar when JungKook had taken the day off. He could’ve written lyrics about Hoseok’s eyes because of a bout of inspiration. He could’ve gone on a date and drank wine because it seemed like he’d finally gotten to the phases where he could have real discussions with Hoseok, his boyfriend.
That word was new.
Seokjin and Namjoon had begged him to go - and he still didn’t know why he was listening to them - and Hoseok was throwing on his clothes so fast that he was wrinkling them. How did he expect to look put together like that?
“Hoseok-ah, don’t do that, you’ll wrinkle your shirt,” he warned the younger. Hoseok smiled.
“We don’t have to look that good,” he returned, getting up to fix his hair next to YoonGi. The older could’ve, also, complained about how tall Hoseok was, and how YoonGi’s parents had directly disadvantaged him with his height. The list of things he could’ve done kept going.
“Presentation is a big thing,” YoonGi pointed out.
“Says the guy who wears the same beanie for 3 months,” Hoseok teased. He received a look that probably would’ve scared him if it had come from anyone else; however, it had come from YoonGi’s eyes, which were the definition of soft. Therefore, he was incapable of looking mean.
“ off,” he hissed. Hoseok cooed and slipped behind him to knot his hands in front of YoonGi’s torso.
“We don’t have to go if you really don’t want to,” Hoseok offered. God, I wish, YoonGi thought. He opened his mouth, probably to spew nonsense about how it wasn’t too late to undress and put away these nice clothes so they could go out on the city tonight, right, Hoseok-ah? Wouldn’t that be nice? We could even drink wine! The wine here is so good, you’d love it. We never get to do that. But he decided against it.
“Nah, come on. We’ve gotten this far already,” he said before he turned and Hoseok fixed his tie for him. “I guess the kid could use some support, especially with his unrelenting crush on the Seohyun girl. It’ll be a miracle if he gets through it with her,” YoonGi sighed. Hoseok laughed.
“Thank you for going with me. I’m sure it'll mean the world to him. You know, he looks up to you a lot.”
“No, he doesn’t.”
“He does, Babe. He admires that you work so hard. He’s told me,” Hoseok answered. YoonGi wished he worked as hard as JungKook thought he did. Or made as much time for Hoseok as he wanted.
“Fine,” he stated.
Hoseok smiled. “Let’s go, before we’re late,” he added.
YoonGi was reserved for the ride there, watching the lights pass. Hoseok probably could’ve picked up on it. “Hey, is everything okay?” Hoseok asked in the car, reaching over to squeeze his boyfriend’s hand when he noticed the car ride was far too silent.
“Yeah, why?” He returned.
“You seem like you really don’t wanna go.”
, he probably thinks I’m ungrateful, YoonGi thought. “No, I was kidding earlier. I wanna go.”
“You’re sure?” Hoseok asked. Bless his heart. He cared so much about YoonGi’s comfort.
“Yeah. It’ll be fun.”
He didn’t hate JungKook or anything, but it was the first day in a week or so that he and Hoseok would’ve had time to hang out. Besides, JungKook had multiple shows, right?
“These are your seats,” the usher stated. The couple thanked him before sitting down.
Hoseok seemed interested and blown away throughout the entire show, incredibly impressed with all the work that JungKook had put in. YoonGi was only impressed that the kid hadn’t thrown up on stage. That probably would’ve been interesting.
"Look at them both," Hoseok stated, watching as JungKook smiled and twirled Seohyun in a ballroom dance. YoonGi leaned his head on Hoseok's shoulder.
"As much as I don't care, the kid looks pretty happy with her. And they're good dancers, too," he agreed. Hoseok chuckled and pressed a kiss to the crown of YoonGi's head.
"I bet you wish that were us," he stated.
"A little bit. But they're different. She's really shy and JungKook is just afraid of fu
