Happy Ever After
I LOVE YOU..r moneyThe light was blinding, Victoria squinted as she slowly opened her eyes. It was painfully stuck together from being closed for so long.
The ceiling was bright white and the only sound she could hear was the beeping of something beside her bed. She groaned when the dull pain started in the pit of her stomach. She looked down slowly at herself and whimpered. Wires and strings were going in and out of her gown and she could feel a string going across her face, lodging in her nose.
There was a pulse meter clipped on her finger and her skin was deadly pale. was desert dry and she couldn’t make a proper sound.
Victoria looked down at the end of the bed and couldn’t help but smile to herself when she saw who was there. Nichkhun slept on his arm while the other stretched out towards her hand. He looked worn and tired. With rings under his eyes and she had never seen his face so hairy.
Flowers were crowded on both side of her table and on the sofa. Balloons of “get well soon” floated on the ceilings and the smells of flowers made her smile, especially when her favourite flower bloomed right next to her with a small card stuck in the bundle, saying three simple words. I love you.
Victoria made an effort to reach over and her hand managed to graze his hand. Nichkhun stirred and opened his eyes lazily before it widened when it landed on her.
“Hi” she whispered. Nichkhun got up from his chair so fast that it was tipped over and rushed to her.
“Victoria” he whispered as his hands hovered over her face without knowing what to do with them.
“Um, hi” he beamed down at her and she couldn’t help but smile back at him.
“I miss you” Victoria mouthed. Nichkhun quickly wiped his eyes before bending over and carefully kissed her softly on the lips.
“I miss you too”

Donghae came as soon as Nichkhun called him that Victoria was awake. He waited for so long for the news and finally he was able to breathe. Losing Luna had taken a toll on him. He couldn’t sleep nor could he eat or work. Losing Victoria as well would destroy him.
When he entered the hospital room, Donghae’s face broke into a smile when he saw Victoria glanced his way before her face too, broke into a smile.
Nichkhun planted a firm kiss on Victoria’s forehead before muttering that he was getting something to eat. Donghae nodded to him in acknowledgement before heading over to Victoria’s side.
“Hey there, beautiful” Donghae bent down and gently hugged Victoria to him before placing a soft kiss on her head.
“Hi, oppa” Victoria smiled up at him but there was something sad about those eyes as they stared into his own.
“I’m sorry about Luna” she reached for his hand and gave it a squeeze. Donghae nodded and cleared his throat as he sat down on the seat that was before occupied by Nichkhun.
“Me too” he tried to smile but it failed to break his features. “But at least you’re still here”
“I saw her” Victoria said suddenly, “Luna, I saw her”
Donghae forced his throat to clear but his eyes started to water were beyond his control.
“Where?” his voice cracked at that one word.
“I guess she saved me” Victoria’s eyes turned glazed as she tried to remember the details.
“I remember knowing it was my time. I didn’t care about anything. It felt like all my load was off and I was so calm. But then, Luna was standing there....
“You don’t want to do this, Victoria” Luna’s voice, to Victoria’s surprise had lacked all the hatred as it had every time she addressed her.
“You don’t know what I want”
“I know you won’t want to leave Nichkhun behind. You still have a lot to live for, look forward to. I regret walking over the line between life and death. Don’t do it, Victoria. No one was here to warn me. But I'm here to warn you. You get a second chance. Live it”
Victoria stared. Stunned. Luna, the meanest human being she had ever met was now warning her of the mistake she was about to make.
“Why? Why now? You never helped me with anything. Why now?”
Luna smiled sadly and crossed her arms over her chest. “Because I love Nichkhun, and I don’t want him to get hurt”
Victoria felt an invisible question hung inside her head and there was only two ways to answer. Cross over? Or return back into the land of the living.
“I’ll go back” she answered out loud. A relief smile flooded Luna’s face.
“say hi to Donghae for me” as soon as the last words left her lips, Luna’s body started to fade back into the light until she disappeared in thin air.
Pain struck Victoria hard and fast. First in her stomach, twisting her guts so painfully she started to see stars. Then her heart felt like it was constricted and tightened. Victoria fell to her knees, clutching her stomach to ease the pain.
The light suddenly shut off, leaving her into darkness. Victoria muffled her sobs and prayed for the pain to disappear when a different light rushed at her. Victoria closed her eyes and allowed the light consume her.
Donghae tear up when Victoria mentioned Luna. He cleared it before it could run down his face and pensively listened to Victoria’s story until she finished.
“At least she’s at peace now” Donghae cleared his throat once more before glancing out the window.
“She saved my life” Victoria murmured.
Donghae couldn’t wait any longer. He had to tell her. He planned to leave for England for a long time but he couldn’t leave without knowing that Victoria was okay. Now that she is, nothing was holding him back. He needs to get away until things die down. Until he could recover.
When he told her, tears flooded Victoria’s eyes but she just nodded and smile. Told him that he should go because it would be good for him. they talked some more until he could see that talking was taking a toll on Victoria from the strains on her face and the little gasps and breath she took when she moved.
Donghae held her hand until Victoria eventually drifted to sleep before he leaned over and kissed her head one last time.
“I’m going to miss you” he whispered before letting go of her hand and walking out the door.

Victoria watched the TV with a grim look on her face when the camera flashes on Donghae’s father as he was leaded up the stairs to court, where he was sentence to murder of Luna and attempted murder of Nichkhun and Victoria. She also learned that her father had died moments after he had shot her, but his body was nowhere to be found.
The news left her paranoid. Like all the horror movies, the villain never dies until you bury him into the ground.
Victoria jumped when warms hands rested on her shoulders. Later followed by a warm kiss to her hair.
“Don’t let the news worry you” Nichkhun’s voice drifted down to her. It’s been three weeks since she was left the hospital. Amber waited at her house until she walked in. They spend the day together until she fell asleep and woke up with Amber gone.
Her energy was starting to build up slowly but she still found herself falling asleep at the oddest hours.
“What if he isn’t dead?” Victoria asked nervously, clutching his hand.
“He’s dead. If he isn’t, I will kill him. I’ll kill him and kill him again” he promised her. Victoria nodded at the seriousness of his voice and found herself nodding.
Nichkhun’s face broke into a grin as placed his hands on the sides of her face. “We’re going to live our lives and create a family. Nothing is going to come in the middle of that”
Nichkhun promised her, and once again, she found herself nodding. She believed him. Nothing is ever going to come between them ever again. Not if she could help it.
......5 years later.....
The waves crashed softly in the background as Victoria slept in the warm sand, absorbing the sun. Giggles sounded in the distance, followed by a deeper laugh. Splashing of water and screams then followed.
“Appa!” a girl giggled before screaming again. Nichkhun laughed as he lifted his 4 years old daughter into his arms while keeping an eye on his two year old daughter while she played in the make shift sand castle.
He glanced over at his wife and smiled. Victoria had her eyes closed and a smile pasted on her lips. The vacation had been long called for. His father’s business had lifted off again after the chaos. Victoria had helped as his assistance but took the years off after she had the girls.
Nichkhun almost fainted when Yoona, his first born was delivered. He did okay on the second round when Jessica was born. He could remember Victoria sobbing from joy as she held her baby daughter in her arms and looked up at Nichkhun with shining eyes.
“Yoona, why don’t you go wake mummy up?” Nichkhun whispered to his daughter before winking at her. Her eyes light up with mischief before she blinked up at him in her attempt at a wink.
Nichkhun went over to grab Jessica as he watched Yoona ran/wobble over to Victoria before she pounced at her mother. Victoria let out a surprise squeal before a big smile broke her features as she pulled Yoona onto her lap.
Nichkhun walked over to where his wife sat and smiled down at his wife.
“Nice sleep?” Victoria squinted her eyes as she looked up at Nichkhun.
“Best sleep I’ve had in a while” Nichkhun sat himself down next to Victoria and draped his arm around her shoulder while keeping his other arm around his youngest daughter.
“I told you everything is going to work out” Nichkhun whispered as he pulled Victoria closer to him. Victoria had her arm around his waist and leaned into his side, nesting her head on the crook of his shoulder.
“And I believe you” she whispered.
“And from now on, we are going to live our lives to the fullest and have the family you’ve ever dreamed of” Nichkhun kissed Victoria on her head softly.
Victoria looked at and met his eyes. Hers were filled with love and contentment, there were no longer sadness nor were they troubled. Everything bad that had ever happened is now long into the past. From now on, Nichkhun made it his mission to give the best life Victoria could ever ask for. He will give her love and strength, support her and carry her when she’s feeling down. He will be there for her. Always.
“I love you Victoria Song”
“I love you too, Nichkhun Horvjkul” Victoria replied before he planted a firm kiss to seal his oath to her.
They are in this together.
