The Kiss

 

JI HYEON’S POV:

 

“Ji Hyeon” I heard a whisper.

 

I looked up and smiled. Jinyoung and I are intern students. We are students of

Bio-medical science. Wherever he is, I am there with him. Vice versa.

 

“Jinyoungie~” I called out, whining. He smiled.

 

My smile grew larger spotting the item in his hand. He stood next to me, leaning slightly towards me.

 

“Ice cafe Mocha, Large” He said with a smile.

 

I took a sip from the cup that is in my hand. I smiled.

 

“Mmmm~ I’m alive~ Jinyoung ah get off. Your heavy” I pushed him slightly. He pouted cutely.

 

“Nope, not going to work get off!” He pouted again. I smiled.

 

At times I wonder, what will I do without this kid by my side? After taking another sip of my favourite coffee, I smacked Jinyoung’s arm. He winced in pain.

 

“Jinyoung ah! I just remembered. How was your date yesterday? With who? Min young? Min hyeong?” I ask excitedly. He ignored me.

 

“Ya~” I nudged him lightly. He puffed his cheeks.

 

“Don’t sleep while doing your rounds alright~” he said pinching my cheeks lightly. Chuckling after seeing me pout before leaving me to enjoy me ice coffee.

 

 

JINYOUNG’S POV:

 

She smacked my right shoulder. I winced in pain. This kid Jinjja. I got off her and rubbed my aching arm.

 

“Jinyoung ah! I just remembered. How was your date yesterday? With who? Min young? Min hyeong?” She asked. I rolled my eyes in annoyance. What was she so excited about?

 

I pouted. Somehow feeling rather down then previously. Ji Hyeon ah~

 

“Ya~” she nudged me lightly. I puffed up my cheeks. Ignoring her question.

 

I pinch her cheeks lightly.

 

“Don’t sleep while doing your rounds alright~ “I reminded her.

 

We are together for almost 5 years now. Not together as in a couple but more to “besties for life” Since I did that idiotic move of saying that “It is impossible for me to fall for her” Who am I kidding

 

“Jinyoung intern! Emergency ward”! I heard s voice called out.

 

“Neh~” I replied my legs running towards the emergency ward.

 

 

WHEN NIGHT TIME COMES~

 

 

JI HYEON’S POV:

 

“Good work everybody” I bowed to my seniors before heading out. I stretched my body slightly. My hand took out the rectangular gadget from my bag.

 

“JIHYEON AH!!”

 

“AHHHHHHH” I screamed. I stopped when I heard a laughter next to me. Breathing frantically, I held my chest hoping my heart won’t stop beating.

 

“HAHAHAHA ya ~ you should’ve seen your face HAHAH you look so stupid hahahahaha!” Wiped off an invisible tear from his eye.

“You idiot! I could have died! You loser!” I started hitting his chest.

 

He whined in pained at first. His next action caught me by surprised.

 

“Sorry, your heart can’t stop beating alright. If it did, mine will too.” He said in a whisper. With an innocent smile spread across his face. My eyes widen.

 

 

JINYOUNG’S POV:

 

I laughed so hard. Her face was just hilarious. She started hitting me.

 

“Hyeon ah~ Stop it~” I whined

 

I got caught of her hand. More than the pain, my heart was dying to tell her that I have fallen for her. Fallen hard.

 

“Sorry, your heart can’t stop beating alright. If it did, mine will too.” I whispered. She looked at me with those beautiful eyes.

 

I pinched her nose.

 

“What do you think? How was it?” She looked at me clueless

 

“My acting skill. I mean if I can’t pass my internship, I thought of becoming an actor.” She ‘tsked’ me. I smiled.

 

“Jinyoung ah, I am hungry can we go get dinner” She said. Side glancing her.

 

“Alright, But Hyeon ah did you actually think I was being sincere earlier on?” Looking at her hopefully.

 

“uhm… It would be nice to hear that. After all we have been together for so long. It shows your loyalty” She said. My heart sank.

 

 

 

 

 

THE NEXT MORNING~

 

JINYOUNG’S POV:

 

“Ji Hyeon ah, I cannot meet you today. I meet you at the hospital alright” I said to the caller on the other end.

 

I felt bad that I couldn’t fetch her like I do usually. I made sure to stop by the coffee shop to get her favourite coffee. Glancing at the watch.

 

Time shows 10:30. I frowned. She was supposed to text me when she reached. Shrugging off that worried feeling, I head off to work.

 

 

 

AT THE HOSPITAL~
 

NO ONE’S POV:

 

Jinyoung proceed to get change. Constantly looking for his best friend. Bringing along the coffee with him.

 

“Doctor Seo have you see Ji Hyeon?” the old doctor shook his head

 

Jinyoung ask a few other but was to no avail.

 

“Min Young? Have you seen Ji Hyeon?”

 

“Jinyoung. Haven’t you heard?” The young nurse felt guilty.

 

“Go to ward 92” She continued.

 

Jinyoung place the coffee back in his locker. As he enter the ward, he saw a familiar looking figure.

 

“Mrs Kim?” He was shocked.

 

“Jinyoung ah” The old woman when to hug the young intern with tears in her eyes.

 

“Mrs Kim what happen?” Jinyoung asked still not knowing what was going on.

 

“Jinyoung let’s sit and talk”

 

The young intern followed her out.

 

“Ji hyeon was in an accident while on the way to work. She was hit by a lorry while crossing the road. Her head hit the road pavements. She has been unconscious since” Jinyoung froze.

 

 

Jinyoung felt so guilty for what had happened. If he had fetch Ji Hyeon this morning maybe she would still be alive. As he sat outside crying to himself with utmost regret.

 

 

 

 

AS THE DAYS PASSED~

 

JINYOUNG’S POV:

 

“Ji Hyeon ah, Look what I brought! Your favourite coffee and! Burger!!!” I placed both items by her bed.

 

“Hurry wake up and eat with me. I am so hungry! I didn’t eat since no one was there to accompany me” I pouted. My heart felt a slight pain.

 

Sadness creeped it way to me. My eyes got watery.

 

“Ji Hyeon ah, you wanna know something?” I asked holding her hand firmly in mine.

 

 

 

 

“The day I asked if you were really hoping me to mean what I said, I was hoping you would say yes. Ji Hyeon ah wake up.. I have got a lot of things to tell you. Like the day you found out we were actually working at the same place and I said It was coincidental. I lied, you didn’t know what I went through just for that.” I said half smiling. Wiping away tears that were falling.

 

“Ji Hyeon ah… Wake up~ please” I kissed the back of her palm.

 

“I mean what I said. Your heartbeat is mine too.” Tears flowing endlessly.

 

I can’t remember what I said. All I know was I fell asleep crying to our memories.

 

 

 

JI HYEON’S POV:
 

I woke up feeling a slightly heavy weight on my left arm. My body is in pain. My eyes shifted to the young man sleeping soundly by my side. I smiled.

 

“Jinyoung get up. You’re heavy.” I said ruffling his hair. He didn’t budge.

 

“PARK JINYOUNG!!!” I screamed.

 

He shot up. I half smiled.

 

“Why why why? What… what…” he took a while to get a grip of himself as I lied there watching.

 

“OH MY GOD! JI HYEON! KIM JI HYEON! Are you really awake?!” Before I could answer he hugged my little body. It was painful yet bearable. I missed this. I missed him .

 

I shoved him off.

 

“You’re gonna kill me! Park Jinyoung you as a n..” My eyes widen.

 

Did he just? He did. I can’t believe he did.

 

“You talk too much. Don’t you know how long I waited for you? How can you do this?” He said. I bit my lip.

 

“Jinyo…” His lips grabbed mine. Pulling me into a full and passionate kiss. He pulled away after not getting any response.

 

“Ji hyeon ah. Are you okay?” He shook my shoulders. I smile at his worried face.

 

“Did you just kiss me?” I asked unsure. He chuckled

 

“You mean this?” He dived in for another kiss. I replied him this time.

 

We pulled away from each other in need of oxygen.

 

“What is going on what did I miss?” I asked. He bit his lips.

 

The door opens to a young nurse.

 

“Minyoung!” I screamed. Jinyoung turns towards the door

 

“Well for a matter of fact you missed a lot of things! It’s okay I got it all recorded” Minyoung said with a mischievous smile.

 

I raised an eyebrow.

 

I laughed the minute the video was played. Jinyoung tried to snatch it away from minyoung. Well I guess you know what video it was right?
