Chapter 47

Ganji & Tigger

It was Monday.

You let out a small sound, when you woke up in the morning. You even woke up before your alarm clock went off, because you could hear someone singing in the hall. You hummed tiredly.

“Baby shark doo doo doo doo.. Baby shark…”

“Ki Joon?” You mumbled and rubbed your eyes tiredly. “Yongguk?” You turned around to see Yongguk but discovered that his side of the bed was empty.

You reached your hand out and touched the bed covers that felt cold. It indicated that he had been up for a while. You sighed softly.

You turned over to your bedside and looked at the clock on your nightstand. It was past seven am. Your work wasn’t until ten am, but you needed to get Ki Joon ready for nursery. You got out of bed.

You strode off to the bathroom, rubbed your eyes a couple of times, getting rid of the dirt around them and let out a tired yawn. You opened the door to the bathroom and your eyes widened of surprise.

“Oh, sorry!” You blurt out.

The two boys looked at you from the bathtub, but all you saw was Yongguk’s bare chest and his visible tattoo. There were bubbles in the water, and toys which Ki Joon was playing with.

Your heart raced frantically for some reason, you didn’t know. You turned around ready to leave, but Yongguk called your name out.

“Sera, I’m wearing shorts, calm down.” He said.

You turned around and glanced towards him. “Even if you weren’t, its quite normal to have a bath with your kid.” You stated and stiffened.

What am I saying? You sighed tiredly and moved your hands behind your neck.

“Do you want to join, we can make space for you.” He smiled, and your eyes widened.

“Its so fun.” Ki Joon pipped out.

You stared at Yongguk, who was clearly teasing you with that playful look he had on his face. You rolled your eyes at him.

“There is not space for three in that bathtub.” You retorted as you pointed at the tub and you looked at him. He had a lopsided grin. He looked cheeky.

“Suit yourself, we are having fun.” Yongguk said.

“Baby shark doo doo doo.” Ki Joon sang as he held a shark and splashed it into water, making Yongguk chuckle.

“When are you two coming out of there? I need to wash up.” You asked as you headed to the sink to brush your teeth.

“In a bit.” Yongguk said.

“Mommy shark doo doo.” Ki Joon mumbled.

Yongguk reached his hand out and ruffled the boy’s hair. Then he got up from the tub. You stared at the mirror in front of you, trying hard not to glance the other way and see a half- man. However, he stopped next to you.

You held your toothbrush, and your eyes fell to the cup where your toothbrushes where and you saw Yongguk pick his up.

“I just remembered I forgot to brush my teeth.” He said, and then he added the toothpaste on his toothbrush.

You stood still, and you haven’t added some toothpaste to your toothbrush, but Yongguk noticed that and did it for you. You blinked your eyes multiple times in a second.

“Brush your teeth.” He said, and you finally lifted your toothbrush to your mouth.

He stood next to you, and you knew that if you looked up and to the mirror you would see his reflection of his bare chest in the mirror. It was too early for that.

You sighed, looked at the mirror and bit onto your bottom lip, when you happened to steal a glance at his chest through the mirror.

It was hard to avoid, when his tattoo stood out and he stood next to you. Yongguk was brushing his teeth, and you finally began to brush your teeth.

Once you had brushed your teeth, you leaned down to the faucet, opened your mouth, and got some water into your mouth.

Your hair fell to your side, but Yongguk acted quickly and grabbed onto your hair. He pulled your hair back for you as you cleansed your mouth with water and you spat the water out into the sink afterwards. Then you splashed your face with water a couple of times.

You somehow realized what you had done in front of him and felt embarrassed right away. You probably looked very ugly and unflattering now. It was not ladylike.

You wiped your mouth, feeling your face heat up. You turned off the faucet, and then you gathered yourself before facing Yongguk.

Your cheeks heated up, getting a warm tint, and you stared into his eyes. He had that hard look. You couldn’t read his face, but he was probably disgusted with you.

“Sorry. That was disgusting of me.” You blurted out without thinking about it.

You noticed that Yongguk was looking at you intently. His hand was still in your hair, holding your hair back from your wet face.

Water trickled down your face, from your long and dark eyelashes, your nose tip and your chin. His eyes lowered and fell upon your wet lips for a second, you thought.

But he blinked his eyes, his sharp and dark eyes bore in yours. You wondered what he was thinking. It was impossible to read his granite look.

“I have a hairband.” You said, not knowing what to do next, and he finally set your hair free, and it fell down in a mess at your sides.

You wondered about why he looked at you so intently and for so long. But then he broke off the gaze and turned to look at Ki Joon, who was still playing in the water.

“Ki Joon, tell mommy that she is pretty.” Yongguk said in a rather thick and deep morning voice, and then he stepped away from you to grab the towel from the rack.

“You are pretty.” Ki Joon giggled happily.

You turned around to look at Yongguk, but he was already out of the room. You sighed deeply. He did that thing again that made your chest tighten, your heart tug, and that uncanny feeling creeped up, and you didn’t know what kind of feeling this was.

“Couldn’t dad say that himself?” You asked aloud, and Ki Joon shook his shoulders.

“Maybe he is too shy.” Ki Joon replied in his sweet little voice, and you pursed your lips, smiling at his cute answer.

“Do you think dad is shy?” You asked out of interest, and he nodded.

“Why?” You asked.

“He missed you yesterday, when you were out. He said he wanted you to come home quick.” Ki Joon said as he looked up at you and then he returned his attention to his toys in the water.

“What did he tell you?” You asked as you seated on the tub at the corner. You gazed down at the little boy.

His eyes were on the toys and he was playing. “He said ‘I want mommy to come back’.” Ki Joon quoted Yongguk, and you looked the other way.

“When did he say that?” You asked with a big grin.

“When he tugged me to bed, and he fell asleep with me.” He replied.

“Oh really?” You smiled.

You stared at the boy. You were in shock to discover this, but a part of you told you that Yongguk acted this way for Ki Joon’s sake. Maybe because Ki Joon had missed you. You gritted your teeth, feeling confused with it all now. The smile you had faded. You were overthinking things now.

“Did you have fun?” Ki Joon asked with a smile, and you shook your head. His smile faded too. “Why?’” He asked with a pout and a worried look.

“I missed you two. Dad said you sang to baby shark.” You told, and Ki Joon nodded, smiling at the latter part. He was quickly in a better mood.

You leaned down to him and pressed a kiss on his forehead. “Baby, you need to come out of the tub now before your skin turns to dry raisins.” You said, and he giggled. “Dry raisins.” He laughed, and you nodded.

You helped him out of the tub but gave him a quick shower. You wrapped him in a towel afterwards. Ki Joon laughed so much as you dried his hair with a towel.

He really liked taking baths and it seemed like him and Yongguk had a lot of fun earlier in the tub. A part of you felt really jealous. You would never admit that to anyone. You headed to his bedroom to get him dressed.

Ki Joon sat on his bed with the towel on as you searched for an outfit for him. Suddenly you heard Tigger barking, and the dog came running into the room.

You looked out and saw that Yongguk entered the room. “Have you washed up? I’m going to take a shower.” He said, and you nodded. He left the room again.

You thought back to Ki Joon’s words and couldn’t help but to wonder if those words were real. You shook your head. You were thinking too much again. You didn’t exactly lie to Ki Joon. Yongguk wouldn’t say such things about you. You sighed deeply.

“Are you tired?” Ki Joon asked, when he heard your sigh. He was a smart kid and picked up on almost everything around him.

You laughed and shook your head. “No, sweetie. Come here, I found your clothes.” You said, and he jumped off the bed.

You got Ki Joon dressed and told him to go downstairs to play a bit whilst you got dressed for work. He ran off with Tigger.

You entered the hall and you could hear the water running in the bathroom. Yongguk was in the shower. You hurried to the bedroom. You had time to get dressed before he got back.

You opened the closet. You picket out black jeans, and a cute blouse that has stripes, off-shoulder with straps and short sleeves.

You got changed and tucked some of the blouse into your pants at the front. You brushed your hair and kept it lose.

Once you were dressed and ready to head downstairs, the door to the room opened and Yongguk appeared, but he froze at the entrance.

You stiffened. Your eyes widened. He looked at you with a deadpanned look. You became numb. He wore a towel wrapped low around his hips. His hair was wet, and water trickled down from his forehead. His skin glistened.

Your eyes wandered from those hard pectorals that were tattooed, the tattoo reached to his defined collars, and your eyes drifted to his flat, rippled abs. He had a lean and toned figure, broad shoulders, lean waist. He had no fat on his body. He was all toned.

You couldn’t help it. It was a sight to behold. He looked so manly, forbidden, and you stared at him.

You felt a heat surge within you, and your face started to heat up. He looked at you, but he seemed unfazed.

“Maybe we should knock from now on before we enter the room.” He suggested as if he had walked in on you getting dressed.

“I am dressed.” You told, but your eyes were on his chest.

He moved his hand up, ran his long and slender fingers through his wet bangs. He pushed his hair back.

Something inside you began to race very fast and you were unmovable as your eyes stared at how his biceps flexed at his movement.

“There’s still a chance that I may walk into the room one day and see..” He froze, staring into your eyes, but you knew what he meant, and your eyes widened more.

“Okay.” You piped out in a breathless-small tone, quickly agreed to his suggestion. “You can get dressed, I’m going down now.” You stated as you headed out with lowered eyes.

You tried not to look at him now. This time, you had to try hard. Just when you walked past him, you felt him grip your arm, making you stop and look up.

He gazed into your eyes. He was a few inches away. You looked into his eyes with a clueless look. You blinked your eyes a couple of times within a second, again.

Your mouth felt dry suddenly. You ran your tongue quickly over your lips and drew your bottom lip into your mouth, biting hard. You heart thudded, picked up its pace, raced so fast, you didn’t want him to hear it.

You forced your eyes to stay up, but they cheated on you and stole a glance at his pectorals. You tensed up.

Damn me.

“Will you make breakfast?” He asked, and you nodded. “What will you make?” He asked, and you blinked your eyes, looking back at him.

You furrowed your brows, when you noticed that he had a different expression. He seemed calm and cool suddenly.

You could smell his cologne. His strong and manly scent lingered in the air. You lowered your eyes for a second to the ground, but instantly regretted that, when you saw his hard abs instead. Your eyes drifted back up and to his.

What is wrong with me? Jesus help me!

“What do you want?” You breathed deeply.

He lowered himself to you, and you felt your muscles flex, your body tensed, and your shoulders stiffened. He was a few inches away from you.

You couldn’t blink your eyes, you couldn’t move, didn’t dare to breathe. Then a waterdrop from his hair fell onto your cheek, and you instinctively shut your eyes.

“That chicken sandwich, which you made last night was really good.” He said.

You opened your eyes, and you saw that his eyes were lowered. He saw the waterdrop on your cheek.

Then he moved his hand up, your cheek, and got rid of the waterdrop. A shudder rushed down your spine and you shivered as though you felt a cold wind against your back.

But you felt like a puppet as you stood still there, even when seconds had passed by. He didn’t move either. He kept looking at you.

He still held onto your arm for some reason, and you wondered why. His hand felt warm on your skin, but you felt like your body was heating up more.

“I’ll make that then.” You finally spoke, ending the silence.

But your voice was small, and you noticed the corner of his lip curve up. You took a step back. The dimple in his cheek appeared and there was a warm glint in his eyes. He nodded and finally let go of your arm.

You didn’t feel this with Jooyoung a voice said in your mind.

“He missed you yesterday, when you were out. He said he wanted you to come home quick.”

You breathed deeply, Yongguk was still standing there, half-, and you weren’t moving at all. You realized that you probably looked dumb now, and you finally pulled back.

“I should head down to Ki Joon.” You said, and he nodded.

You turned around and rushed towards the stairs.

I am losing my mind.

“Ki Joon, come and help me. Let’s make breakfast.” You said, when you entered the kitchen, and the boy quickly appeared from the living room and to the kitchen with a smile on his face.

“What should we make?” He asked.

“Dad wants sandwich.” You told, and he nodded.

~❋~

The little boy had set the dining table and his eyes beamed. He was so happy and proud of himself for doing some work. He giggled to himself and took his seat.

A smile formed on your face upon seeing him happy. You pulled your chair out and sat opposite from Ki Joon. The both of you waited for Yongguk to show up so you could eat.

Thankfully you didn’t have to wait for long. Yongguk showed up just in time, and he entered the kitchen.

His fresh cologne filled the place immediately. His hair was dry now and pushed back neatly. His hair was full, and it looked soft.

He wore black jeans and a black t-shirt with a black blazer. He was often dressed very simple and comfortably. Yet he looked so chic and cool. He was dressed in all black today.

He pulled out his chair and cleared his throat, making your eyes wander to his, and you noticed that he was looking at you. You panicked. Had he caught you ogling? He opened his mouth and your eyes slightly widened.

“I might come home a bit late today.” He broke out.

“Why are you coming home late?” Ki Joon asked with his big eyes filled with question and some sadness.

Yongguk reached his hand out and the boy’s back. A smile appeared on his face as he looked at your boy.

“I have good news, your uncles will come home later and play with you.” He said.

You couldn’t help but to notice that he smiled at Ki Joon, so widely that his gums showed, and Ki Joon let out an excited sound.

“Are the uncles coming, uncle Himchan, uncle Daehyun, uncle Youngjae, and uncle Jongup and uncle Junhong?” Ki Joon’s voice was louder and higher of excitement.

“Yes, they are all coming.” Yongguk chuckled, smiling more upon seeing how happy Ki Joon became.

“Yes!” Ki Joon exclaimed.

“What time will you be home then?” You asked, getting his attention.

“I’m not sure yet.” He told, and you nodded. “I will order dinner, don’t cook.” He added.

“I can cook.” You told, but his face hardened into granite, and you stiffened.

“We are a lot of people, I don’t want you to cook for all of us on your own.” He stated.

A smile formed on your face, and your eyes beamed. You were unable to hide your smile this time, when you realized that he thought of you.

You gave him a sweet smile, which caught him off guard. His jaw clenched, his left eye twitched, and he tensed up.

You were just about to compliment him for his kindness, but he cleared his throat and you looked at him.

“Don’t get any thoughts, I just want you to take care of Ki Joon, when we get home, and if you have to cook for all of us, you won’t have time for Ki Joon.” He stated with a cold look, making the smile you had quickly disappear.

You gritted your teeth and made a face. You were fuming. But he was hard as stone, unmovable as a mountain, and cold as an iceberg as he looked at you.

You lowered your eyes, broke off the gaze and chose not to say anything. You couldn’t, because Ki Joon was there, and he would misunderstand.

He was always so quick with his remarks. Then the silence came, the long silence. Ki Joon was a sweet kid. The boy just ate his food in silence.

Ki Joon loved to eat and didn’t take notice of the pair of you, nor was he mature enough to notice the cold atmosphere around him right now.

Once the breakfast was over, you stood up from your chair, brought your plate to the sink and you glanced out to the table. Yongguk had his plate and he headed towards you.

You were silent as he cleansed his plate before he placed it into the washing machine. He stayed behind you for a bit, and you washed some of the dishes.

Did he have to be so arrogant and mean? But you shouldn’t have imagined things and thought that he cared about you for a second and was considerate.

He loathed you from day one. You could feel his presence even when his silence was brooding. You let out a small sigh.

Stop giving yourself hopes.

“Do you want coffee?” He asked.

You sighed again.

“No thanks.”

The silence came again.

You heard the coffee machine turn on, but your back faced him as you washed the dishes. You could sense that his eyes were on you, but you didn’t turn to check that out.

You were finally done washing up, and you turned around without looking at him, ready to walk out of the place.

Just when you took three steps, you got pulled back and towards him, and a gasp of surprise escaped through your lips.

Yongguk had a firm grip on your arm, and you slammed right into his hard body. However, you took a step back quickly and looked up. He pulled away as well, creating a distance between you.

“You never say no to coffee.” He said calmly.

“I don’t feel like having coffee.” You stated calmly and writhed your arm, trying to get free from his hold, but his grip was strong.

“You are mad at me.” He said with a hard look.

You froze. You hadn’t expected him to say that to you, to figure you out. Had you been obvious? You mentally slapped yourself.

He had never confronted you like this before. You were shunned for a moment and had to plan what to say to avoid a dangerous situation.

“I’m not mad, why should I be?” You asked and rolled your eyes.

Pretend to be dumb? Pretend that you don’t know anything? Deny your feelings? What do I do?

“You can’t hide it, when you are mad at me, Kwon.” His voice was deeper.

“Oh really?” You took a step towards him.

You noticed that he gulped hard, his Adams apple in his throat bobbed up and down. It drew your eyes to his neck that is quite long and thick, very manly. You took another step closer to him and you could feel him tense up now.

His sharp and dark eyes bore in yours. You narrowed your eyes slightly. His eyelids dropped a bit and you looked at him intensely.

“Just how exactly do you know if I am mad?” You asked as you raised your chin, and your faces got a bit closer.

You looked up at him. His jaw was clenched, but then the pair of you heard the approaching footsteps of Ki Joon.

Right now, you were in a dangerous situation, you looked very mad at each other, and Ki Joon shouldn’t see the pair of you like this. He’d think you are fighting.

Chapter 7: This chapter was nice but it feels like Taec has feelings for her, does he? Okay, I changed my mind. No spoilers please. Also, hopefully he contacts her soon. Looks like it's affecting her more and more as time passes by. And coming to Yongguk, he really handled that pulling the shelf down situation the best way possible. Many a times, even biological parents fail to do that for various reasons including not knowing how to handle the situation even though they do care about their child. Anyway, Kudos to Yongguk! Not only that, he also came clean with her about the incident. Wasn't really expecting him to do that. Anyway, I can't wait to read more. But will be back later to do so ^^

Chapter 6: This chapter was really fun. They also had super fun shopping. Like their audience, those three did look like a family. Also, those two blushing and slowly developing feelings for the other is a welcome sight. Can't wait to see what kind of stories those two would come up with in order to tackle his family. Also, it's kinda weird to see them call each other with their family name, mostly because I'm not used to it. Anyway, I will be back later to read more ^^

Chapter 5: It was nice to see them bonding with Ki Joon and in turn, him slowly opening up to them. And Yongguk's behaving this way towards her because he's kinda jealous of things unknowingly right? LoL... Setting my delulu mind aside, he's gotta change and not be like those elementary boys who are rude to their crush. Nonetheless, I hope they get to know each other better soon. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to fool their family this way. Anyway, I will be back later to read more ^^

Chapter 4: Ooh, Ki Joon is here finally!! But like Taec said, it's gonna take him some time to get used to the new environment and to also think of them as his mom and dad. But when they get there, it's gonna be really nice. And in that time, he's gonna bring in some romance between his adopted parents. Can't wait to read how things would go herein. But will be back later to do so ^^

Chapter 3: Hahaha when she thought there was some intruder, I was expecting it to be one of the other boys. Definitely didn't expect it would turn out this way. I laughed really hard. Like Yongguk, I think their cohabitation would be fun too. And I went through your blog to look at all the pictures at once. It was nice to have a visual aid for all those room. And I can't wait for Ki Joon's arrival. Will be back later to read more ^^

Chapter 2: Sera's and Taec's friendship is sweet. Hope there won't be a love triangle or something later. Also, can't wait to see Ki Joon. BTW isn't Poodle one of the hypoallergenic dog breeds? Tigger is a poodle right? That's what I remember reading but correct me if I was wrong. Anyway, now that she has gotten his address, wonder when she'll move in and how things turn develop (fights or so) before Ki Joon gets home. Will be back later to read more ^^

Chapter 1: Read the first chapter and gotta say it was a pretty good start. Definitely didn't expect the adoption to start this way. I'm definitely looking forward to their cohabitation. I'm sure they are gonna bicker all the time Ki Joon wasn't around. And speaking of Ki Joon, I'm curious of one thing. When you explained his backstory, I failed to understand this part. Is he N.Korean by origin/blood and lost his parents while trying to defect to S.Korea? Did I understand that part correctly? Anyway, I can't wait to read more. But will be back later to do so ^^

Yongguk frustrates me, like he can read Kwon like an open book but he is so closed that we don't know what he thinks or feels.
