Jieun laid on the bench, thinking, staring into space... The sudden surge of loneliness crept into her again, and she can't help but feel depressed.

What have I done to deserve this? She thought.

But no matter how depressed she was, she had to find out more about the sudden death of her family slaughtered by those creatures, or else her family's death will be meaningless. And to think that Sunggyu would die meaninglessly, she had to find hope and live again, for him. The sun was starting to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in a snowy orange. Jieun felt for her phone in her pocket and whipped it out, dialing Taehyung.

There was a few moments of beeping, and Taehyung picked up. “Jieun? You okay? Need anything?”

Smiling dully, she answered. “No, I'm fine. Are you free tomorrow?”

“Yes,” Taehyung immediately replied even though his tomorrow was packed with schedules. But for Jieun, he would do anything for her for the meantime. “You want to go somewhere?”

“Yeah. You have a car license right?”

Taehyung was slightly taken aback. He had a car license, but where did Jieun want to go? It must be somewhere far. “Yes, I have.”

“Can you give me a ride to-” Jieun paused, breathing heavily.

“Where to?” Taehyung asked, puzzled that Jieun suddenly paused.

“Back to the scene where my family died.” A lump formed in Jieun's throat, she was fighting back tears. But no matter what, she had to be strong, for that's what Sunggyu wanted her to be. Taehyung was shocked, he didn't believe his ears at first. Why would Jieun want to visit that demonic place again?

“Wh...at?” He stuttered. “Why do you want to go back?”

Jieun didn't gave him an explanation. Instead, she begged, “Please. Taehyung...”

Pursing his lips together, he wasn't sure if it was a good idea. Nevertheless, for Jieun, he relented. “Okay, when should I pick you up?”

“After breakfast.”

“Okay. Anything else?”

“No, that's all.”

“I'll hang up then,” Taehyung said and proceeded to press the 'end-call' button.

“Wait, Taehyung,” Jieun called.

“Yeah?” He put the phone next to his ear.

“Just...thank you,” Jieun said and hung up first.

“No problem,” he mumbled to himself, knowing Jieun wasn't there anymore to hear his reply. He sighed inwardly, this is going to be a problem...

Hanging up, Jieun got up and started walking back to her house. She passed by the CD shop and took a peek inside. As expected, the stranger wasn't there anymore. But she was still cautious, constantly checking behind her to see if anyone was following. She safely entered her house, locking the door behind her. She decided to call it a day, for there was nothing that she could do anymore.

Myungsoo looked at Jieun, sleeping with a tired frown on her face. His insides were screaming at him and he realized he missed her so much. He was longing for her, aching for her... He sat beside her, and the bed dipped. Slowly, he touched her forehead, smoothing out the frown, careful to not awaken her.

“Hyung,” a hushed whisper called for Myungsoo, he looked to the direction of the window, seeing Sungjong sitting there. “It's urgent, let's go.”

Sighing inwardly, Myungsoo left Jieun and went out of the room with Sungjong through the opened window.

Jieun was half-asleep. She felt warmth beside her and she huddled closer. It felt safe and dangerous at the same time and she realized that someone was here just moments ago. Jolting awake, she scanned around the room, clutching her pillow tightly to her chest. The window was ajar and cold wind swept in. She fumbled for her nightstand and the lights, illuminating the room. There wasn't anyone then. Shaking her head, Jieun thought she must be hallucinating. She proceeded to close the window, and go back to bed. Just then, she thought, why did I feel that someone touched my forehead just now?

“What it is?” Myungsoo asked as he and Sungjong walked and jumped over rooftops in the night.

“It's Woohyun,” Sungjong replied blandly.

Myungsoo scoffed. “That bastard again... what has he done now?”

Sungjong swallowed back the lump in his throat. “According to Sungyeol, he has been investigating the death of Jieun's foster parents, Kim Sunchun and Park Sora. And currently, you're the suspect.”

“Of course I would be. He would be an idiot if he can't figure that out... anything else?”

“Y...es,” Sungjong stuttered.

“Spill it.”

“They have Jieun's brother, Kim Sunggyu with them.”

Myungsoo gritted his teeth. It was a mistake leaving Sunggyu alive. He should have exterminated Sunggyu on the spot that night but Myungsoo had a soft spot for humans. When he held Sunggyu in his grasp and looked at Jieun that night, he suddenly felt weak. He couldn't bring himself to finish Sunggyu. So instead, he stabbed Sunggyu, avoiding the vital parts, giving him a chance to live, but Woohyun just had to recruit him, and it made his blood boil.

“And if they really pin the death of Sunchun and Sora on you, you might be banished from the kingdom,” Sungjong reminded. Myungsoo chuckled inwardly.

“I know. Woohyun knew we both killed Sunchun and Sora, but he doesn't have enough evidence. The rest of the clan wouldn't believe him anyway since I'm currently in charge. But he will try anything at all cost to take my position...after all, that bastard's my prideful cousin.”

“Hyung, if you really do be banished, I will stay by your side. I'm positive Sungyeol will come along as well,” Sungjong said. He was a vampire with pure loyalty, and Myungsoo no doubt treasured him a lot.

“Is Sungyeol doing fine with Woohyun?”

“Yeah, he's keeping an eye on Woohyun and Hoya,” Sungjong answered.

They both sat down on one of the roofs, facing the moonlight.

“Enroll into Jieun's school right after her semester ends. I don't think there's much time before Woohyun starts planning something dirty to get rid of me,” Myungsoo said.

“Understood,” Sungjong nodded. Suddenly, his sharp ears detected a faint cry for help. “Hyung-”

“Yes, I heard it,” Myungsoo smirked. “Let's go hunt for those useless Beasts.” Returning the smirk, the two of them disappeared into the night.

Jieun was waiting for Taehyung to arrive. It was half past eight in the morning when his car pulled into the driveway.

“Am I late?” Taehyung asked when Jieun opened the door.

“It's okay, let's go.”

They both got into the car and started the journey back to the cabin. Riding in silence, Taehyung decided to start a conversation and fish out some reasons regarding this trip back to that demonic place.

“Did you sleep well last night?”

Jieun was startled. She debated whether to tell Taehyung about the ajar window and the touch on her forehead and she came to a conclusion not to. She probably thought it was a hallucination. “Yeah.”

“You sure? You still sound tired. You can rest while I drive,” Taehyung offered.

Jieun just shook her head. “I'm alright.”

“If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to go back to that place?” He asked, then regretted. It felt like he was a busybody trying to pry on her life. But truthfully, he is just concerned Too concerned. Silence filled the air for a while, then Jieun opened to answer.

“Just trying to investigate. You know what, I'll get some sleep first.”

It hit Taehyung right in the gut. Was Jieun giving an excuse to conversations with him? Or did he really cross the line by asking her the questioned he shouldn't have asked?

“Ah, okay, I'll call you when we're there.”

“Thanks,” a muffled reply came from her as she shifted her face to the window and leaned on it with her forehead.

Taehyung gripped the steering wheel tighter and thought, will it be a mistake taking her back to that place?

Authornim: OMG I'm sorry peeps for the sloooooowww updates... My brain kinda malfunctioned awhile heheh But here I am, back and updating. I'm really flustered that Pixlr's not working -=- Nothing's coming out when I opened it for the past two days... I'm trying to enter a graphic competition and Pixlr just had to being Pixlr right now...*sighs* I hope it'll be fine in a few days. Pardon my rant...xD And I know it's kinda late but I want to wish all the 97 liners all the best in their SPM in Malaysia! Hwaiting people!!! <3 Okay, I'll make my leave and go watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood!!!!! (Watching it the 2nd time because it's just SO AMAZING!!!) And! Anyone an Army here? I've been into BTS recently xDDD
