Lock

DaeSung flipped the sign on the glass door from "OPEN" to "CLOSED," avoiding his reflection on the glass. His face must have appeared really tired, as many customers asked him if he was fine. He sighed and turned around, when he heard knocks on the door. SeungHyun and YoungBae stood there, waving. DaeSung blinked in surprise, but immediately opened the door for them.

"Sorry to pay a visit at this hour," YoungBae apologized. SeungHyun bowed as well, and DaeSung hurriedly bowed back.

"No, it's not a problem. But... What brings you two here?" DaeSung asked as he led them into the staff room.

When they entered, SeoNam was also there, standing in front of SeungHyun's former locker. He turned around and everyone greeted one another before they settled down. DaeSung brought instant coffee, and they were finally able have a conversation.

"I'll get straight to the point," SeungHyun said. "YoungBae sshi and I have been researching on things, such as programs, that could benefit SoRa sshi and SeungHyun sshi."

"I guess you have found some," SeoNam leaned forward, anticipating. YoungBae and SeungHyun nodded.

SeungHyun's phone rang, and luckily, SoRa spotted it on the dining table. She brought it to SeungHyun in a hurry, not wanting the call to end, and careful not to drop it. She handed it over to SeungHyun after picking up.

"Hello?" SeungHyun said.

"SeungHyun ah," a beautiful voice called. "Are you okay? Are you having a hard time?"

"Am I a little kid? Of course I'm fine," SeungHyun answered coldly. SoRa watched carefully, already figuring out that the call was from his family. He never entered his family's numbers with names, so whenever they called, it only showed their phone numbers. SoRa had already remembered his father's and mother's numbers, but this number was unfamiliar.

"That's a relief then," the lady said, sighing. "Anyway, father and mother want you to come home."

"And you think I'd go?" SeungHyun shot back.

"How long are you going to keep this up? You need their help, especially now. You're not in a state where you can just do whatever," she argued.

"Since when do you guys care? Leave me alone," SeungHyun replied. He searched for SoRa, holding his empty hand out. SoRa embraced it in both hands, a way to tell him that she was there. SeungHyun's shoulders dropped in relief.

"You know I can't leave you alone, even if our parents turn their backs on you," she said. "SeungHyun ah, you're an adult now. You should know how to accept your parents."

"So you do know that they've turned their backs on me. Yet you still expect me to trust them? Now you're just being silly. I don't trust people that abandoned me," he said, scoffing.

"Stop acting like a child. You can't live without their help," she declared firmly.

"Well what am I doing right now? Am I not living?" he questioned.

"If you really want to be this way," she let out a big sigh. "I really have to knock some sense into you, huh."

"Just you try," SeungHyun said bluntly.

The lady hung up, and SeungHyun dropped his hand in disbelief. He scoffed, gripping onto his phone too tightly.

"That lady, seriously," he hissed under his breath.

SoRa slowly reached one of her hands to his cheek, caressing it. She smiled, although SeungHyun could not see. She knew that he knew she was smiling, comforting him. It was always like that. They did not need words when they comforted each other. Just a hug, or even the simple act of holding hands was enough to calm down. It was as though their hands were some kind of key that unlocked the other's heart and mind, setting their concealed feelings free.

"Thank you," SeungHyun said in his tender voice. SoRa shook her head sideways.

"This is what lovers are for, isn't it?" SoRa said.

"Something seems strange," SeungHyun said as he walked down the street with YoungBae.

"What does?" YoungBae asked.

"SoeNam sshi. Didn't he seem to show a lot of interest whenever we mentioned SoRa sshi's name?" SeungHyun asked.

YoungBae thought for a second, and then slowly nodded in agreement. "Now that I think about it, I guess you're right."

"I'd get it if he showed that reaction towards SeungHyun sshi, but no. I could see he cares about SeungHyun a lot too, but not as much as he does about SoRa sshi. It's weird," SeungHyun explained.

"Maybe they've met before, and they became really close?" YoungBae suggested. "You know, since he's around the age that can be SoRa's father."

They reached the intersection, where they bid goodbyes. YoungBae walked up to the road and caught a taxi.

"I'm just glad they're willing to be a help. Even SeoNam CEO," YoungBae said after getting in the taxi, through the window. "You've worked hard today." He closed the window, and the taxi departed, leaving SeungHyun standing alone in thought.

"They have the same last name," SeungHyun said quietly. "Maybe they're related...?"
