Special Chapter 18 - Chanyeol
Dark Lake Academy - EXTRASChanyeol frowned ever so slightly as he watched Suho talking to Lina. It was stupid, but he was so incredibly jealous of the dragon. Suho had managed to get Lina to smile a little and Chanyeol couldn’t help but think ‘that’s my job.’ He wanted to drag Lina away, but how would he explain that without telling her the truth?
Heck, he wasn’t even ready to admit the truth to himself yet. How could he tell Lina that what he felt for her was more than sibling love? They weren’t even real siblings! Lina wasn’t his sister by birth, so having a crush on her wasn’t that awful was it? not that he would ever say that to Lina. Being reminded that she didn’t have any family of her own always made her cry and Chanyeol hated seeing her cry.
“You alright?” Baekhyun asked, looking at Chanyeol with concern. Just like the good friend he was.
“I’m fine,” Chanyeol smiled, lying through his teeth, “just thinking about some stuff.”
“Like?” Baekhyun prompted.
“This book I’m reading,” Chanyeol said, “there was this line that was pretty deep and it kind of stuck with me. I was just thinking about it.”
“What’s the line?” Baekhyun asked, but the bell rang to signal the end of lunch before Chanyeol could respond.
“I’ll tell you later,” Chanyeol said, getting up from the table, “right now we have to get to class.”
“Yeah,” Baekhyun laughed lightly, pretending to drop the matter, “and Miss Kwon will skin us alive if we’re late.”
--
“Ok,” Baekhyun sat, legs crossed, on Chanyeol’s bed, “now will you tell me what’s wrong?”
“Nothing is wrong,” Chanyeol rolled his eyes as he started changing into his pajamas, “let it go, alright?”
“No,” Baekhyun hissed, “because whatever it is is really bothering you. I’m your friend. I care if something is bothering you.”
“It’s nothing,” Chanyeol denied, “so can we stop talking about it?”
“Nope,” Baekhyun shook his head, “if you aren’t going to tell me, I’m going to go to Lina. Even if she doesn’t know what’s wrong, I know you’ll tell her.”
“Don’t!” Chanyeol yelled, rushing forewords to make sure Baekhyun didn’t get up, “you can’t tell her anything.”
“And why not?” Baekhyun tried not to yell, “Why don’t you want her to know? Why don’t you want me to know? What the hell don’t you want to tell anyone?”
“I like Lina,” Chanyeol sighed, “more than a sister.”
“Oh,” Baekhyun said, “is that all?”
“What do you mean ‘is that all’?” Chanyeol said, glaring slightly at the other fallen.
“I’ve known you liked her pretty much since the day we met each other,” Baekhyun shrugged, “maybe at first I thought you were just a clingy little brother, but it wasn’t long before I realized you liked her more than a big sister.”
“Who else knows?” Chanyeol asked, silently praying that Lina didn’t know and that those who did know weren’t repulsed by him. they might not be family by blood, but there were documents that existed saying that they were siblings.
“Just me,” Baekhyun said, “no one else in our group cares if you love her as a sister or girlfriend, so they don’t pay attention or ask questions. if you and Lina get together, we’ll all support you. you know that right?”
“Thanks, Baek,” Chanyeol pulled the other into a one armed hug.
“No problem,” Baekhyun replied, returning the gesture, “What are friends for?”
A/N: there isn’t much importance to this chapter, mostly it’s just here to show off Chanyeol’s feelings and the Baekyeol friendship.
