23. Almost There

{First Person}

The woman looked at her before looking away. They looked so alike, as if I was looking at a mirror. Mirae grinded her teeth as she growled at the man.

"What have you done to my mother?"

Her mother's eyes were a pale blue with no life in her pupils, as if her mind was completely blank.

"I made some minor changes to this bratty woman," he snickered and with the snap of his fingers, Mirae's mother opened and screamed. It was high pitched and could easily break a person's ear drums. The both of us covered our ears but a spark went through our bodies.

"What the hell..." Mirae muttered as she panted. Shards of glass were forming on her hands while a shield slowly started forming around me.

"Our powers... what's going on?" I was fascinated but at the same time I felt angry. Suddenly, the pedestal on top of the stairs started to float. I looked over at Mirae and objects close by started to hover and gather around the small girl.

"Yes... YES!!!!! MORE!!!!!" Ryu bellowed with joy as he took staggered steps towards Mirae. I grabbed onto his leg, hoping to stop him from getting any closer to her but his body suddenly caught on fire, causing an enormous explosion. I was blown back from the impact and felt someone grab onto my  collar.

I could only watch in panic as Ryu burned all the objects around Mirae who was hyperventilating, unaware of her surroundings.

"Mirae!!!" I shouted but as he got closer to her, my vision started to cloud up and everything turned a dark purple.

I wasn't unconscious but something told me that I wasn't on Bangtan anymore. I took a step, bumping into something.

"Are you a newcomer?" Someone asked, their voice sounded old and crippled.

Turning around, I was faced to face with a woman who looked almost 80. "Who are you and where am I?" Her hair was frail and oily while her teeth were a dark yellow hue.

"How did you get here? Perhaps you were taken like the rest of us," she croaked and started to walk away.

"H-Hey wait!" I quickly caught up to her and stood in front, determined to get answers, "Where is this place and what do you mean by 'taken'?"

She looked at me before continuing her walk, "Dear, did you bump your head upon arrival? How could you not know where you are?"

"Ma'am, I was just with my cousin a few moments ago along with my brainwashed aunt and the crazy UVERworld governor. Please, I need to get back to them before it's too late." I tried to reason with her but she let out a lifeless laugh.

"Dearie, you can't leave. As crazy as this sounds, you can't leave the Reversal Border, there's just no way. Everyone here has tried."

I froze, stunned by the new information. The Reversal Border...? No, that means... I couldn't finish my thoughts as a piercing scream rang through the atmosphere. I ran over, running past the woman who gave me a frightened look.

Upon arrival, I saw something unfamiliar. A girl in the jaws of a dark purple creature with a hole where its heart should have been.

"Please save me! I can't die yet!" She flailed her arms around in desperation.

I wanted to help her but I couldn't as my powers only went so far. My hands turned into closed fists as I watched, feeling helpless. A flash of light suddenly appeared and the dark beast disappeared with the girl falling. Quickly, I lunged towards her and caught the girl. "Are you alright?"

"I-I am now.. but that beast..." she stuttered.

"That beast is gone, but more like them will appear," the crippled voice from before was heard and the woman slowly approached us.

"Did you kill that thing...?" I asked and she laughed.

"Of course I did. Did you kill it?"

"W-Wow..."

"I have the ability to manipulate light," she triumphantly said, "after all, I am part of royalty."

"Royalty?! Then... you must be Hyosang and Jin's grandmother!"

"Have you met my grandchildren? I have not seen them since they were little babies. My dearies, I feel so sorry for them."

"Ma'am, I was actually travelling with Hyosang a few hours ago, before I was kidnapped and taken to the Reversal Border."

"That damned Min Woo, trying to ruin this wonderful planet," she hissed, "What powers do you have dear? You might be able to free everyone here."

"I don't think I can. I have the ability to create a shield around me and I can see the future. It's my cousin that has telekinesis, that's the ability that you want." I replied.

"Nonsense, you and your cousin has telekinesis running through your veins. If your cousin has it, so do you. Now close your eyes and wish for it."

I stared at her as if she was an alien but she gestured me to do so and I did. All I could really do at this point was to wish.

Telekinesis, I need this ability. I have to save this planet.

My planet.

When I opened my eyes, I was lying in a middle of a field. I could hear laughter and screaming of joy. The woman from before ran up to me and shook my shoulders.

"You did it!!!! You did it my dear!"

The question was, how did I do it? All I did was wish and now everyone was free?

"I don't understand, how could that be so easy?" I muttered but the brothers' grandmother winked at me.

"You see dear, the Reversal Border was designed to keep criminals locked away. Only people called the gatekeeper could unlock the so-called 'gate'. The gatekeepers have a special ability called 'telekinesis' which goes beyond what we normal people imagine it to be. They are able to control what's around them and what's beyond. In your case, you were able to unlock the door of the Reversal Border from the other side."

"Then how did we get here...?"

"There are more than one entrances to the Reversal Border. You were probably thinking of a grassy field while you wished."

I didn't understand, but as I looked around, a sharp pang shot through my heart. I realised I was far away from the castle. "I need to get back...!"

I started running but the woman called out for me. "Dearie, take my dragon!" I turned to look at her when suddenly I was swept up from my feet and my hair started attacking my face.

"GOOD LUCK!"

I reached city in five minutes but it seemed like days. Hovering over, I saw a group of people rushing towards the castle. Two of the many were riding a bird and an awfully familiar dragon.

"Bahamut...!" I flew down, "JIN!"

Finally decided to update... Thanks for reading everyone! I lost hope for a moment thinking that no one was reading anymore. Comments are appreciated. I'm thinking of doing a re-write after I finish this story. Is the story too confusing so far? This chapter was inspired by Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded (was re-playing it again.)
