The Played PlayboyIt was Monday morning and Yoorin was slumped at her desk as her teacher took attendance. She stifled a yawn, she had barely slept, kept awake by Hana on the phone scolding her on how she should've been more careful, Yoorin couldn't even get a word in. And because Hana was so focused on telling Yoorin what an idiot she had been she didn't have time to tell her what the next stage of the plan was. It didn't matter much, because Yoorin was going to Hana's house after school finished to talk to her about it anyway. She was scared that the whole revenge thing was going to backfire and that it was going to hurt everybody. She stayed awake most of the night thinking about all the ways it could be ruined.
Chin in her hand, she almost dozed off completely when Jeongmin suddenly poked her on the cheek.
“Hey,” he whispered, gesturing to the front of the class. “Look at that, isn't he your friend's boyfriend?”
She peeled her eyes open and looked up. At the front her teacher was writing a name on the board. And stood in front of the name was Minwoo. Looking as charming as ever, even in the school's uniform. Yoorin's mouth dropped as she stared wide-eyed at him.
“I’d like you to all welcome our new student,” said the teacher, gesturing to him. “This is No Minwoo, please treat him kindly."
Yoorin had an infuriating urge to bang her head against the desk. What. Is. He. Doing. Here?
"You may go and take a seat, there are a few empty desks there," she gestured to the middle of the room.
Yoorin was thankful that her seat was in the corner at the back, the empty seats were nowhere near her. But as Minwoo made his way to his desired desk he caught a glimpse of her. A flash of recognition appeared on his face and he smiled at her, his eyes forming the perfect half-moon crescents. He was waiting for her to realise who he was, or for her to return the smile, but she never did.
"He's my best friend's ex." Yoorin corrected Jeongmin, who was seated just in front of her.
Because Minwoo was seated closer to the front of the class, it was hard to miss the fact that he kept on turning around, stealing glances at Yoorin.
I'm not ready for this. She thought, grimacing as she stared outside the window. Hana should've told her what to do last night when she had the chance. Right then Yoorin badly wished that Hana went to the same school as her.
When the bell rang for lunch break, Yoorin rushed out of her class as fast as lightning. She went outside and made her way to the corner of the field, trying to make a phone call to Hana. But it was useless, her phone was turned off. Hana's school lunch time was different to Yoorin's.
She scrunched her face, stuffing the phone back into her pocket and decided to make her way to the library. She had a paper that needed completing for next period anyway.
But to her worse of luck, the first person she saw was Minwoo. He was standing causally next to a bookshelf with his head buried under a book that she couldn't quite make out what it was. She was about to quietly exit when he spoke.
"Please don't run away from me again," he laughed lightly, making his way towards her.
She didn't say or do anything. She just stood there, speechless, staring at Minwoo like a nincompoop.
"Oh, right." He muttered to himself. He opened the book he had in his hands and started flipping through pages. After a few seconds of looking at it he snapped it shut again.
"Erm," his brows knitted together. He started doing strange motions with his hands while miming things with his mouth. Yoorin just stared at him, puzzled, wondering what he was doing. When she didn't r
