“Please Min?” I looked up to see a drunk and pouting Jongin. He was slumped against the back of the booth in their favourite bar and was at me to get him some more alcohol. Hunhan were also in the booth but were attached at the mouth as they made noises I could only describe as animals mating.
“Fine but don’t come running to me when you can’t function in the morning. You know Lay is going to push you tomorrow,” I sighed before heading to the bar and describing to order a sobering sprite for my boyfriend. I slipped onto one of the stalls before placing the order with the slightly overweight bartender.
Turning to the side, I decided to check back on the boys. As I turned, I halted as my heart stopped and my eyes popped out of my head. In the booth two down from ours, Minho was kissing Changmin, a singer Key’s boyfriend introduced me to at one of his annual bashes. He was a laugh and a friend but something stirred within me to see the two of them eating each other’s faces. I couldn’t help but stare as I drank in the scene. It made me angry to see Minho with someone else. He didn’t deserve to have someone else who he could blow off and leave broken hearted like he did me. I turned away before they would spot me as I snatched Jongin’s drink from the bar and stalked back to our booth. I may have purposefully walked right past the other couple’s booth though.
“Thank you baby,” Jongin giggled as he slurped the bubbly drink through a pink straw. Jongin then laid his head on my shoulder as he began to babble nonsense. My boyfriend, when he was drunk, lost all his manliness and turned into the cutest little boy I had ever seen. Either that or he was just incredibly .
“Kiss?” Jongin asked as he nuzzled into my neck and puckered his lips. I nodded before pecking him. I chuckled as he looked smug and stared at Sehun who was now staring blankly at one of the moving lights. I couldn’t help but laugh as I watched Jongin and his friends who were smashed. Luckily Sehun and Luhan had their own place together and so, being the dedicated driver I was, I didn’t have to explain to any parents what had happened. Suddenly a tap on my shoulder caught my attention.
“Tae!” I glanced up to see Changmin hanging off of Minho as he smiled at me and the people who were around me.
“Changming hyung!” I smiled meekly as Jongin threw his hand over my shoulder and glared at Minho. I chuckled before sliding from his grip and looking expectantly at the couple.
“Oh … this is Minho. Have you two met?” Changmin asked as he looked at Minho innocently. I opened my mouth to speak but was beaten.
“No, I don’t think so,” Minho spoke, cutting me off. I immediately looked at him with a puzzled expression. What?
“Um …”
“Maybe at a party of something?” Changmin asked as he looked at Minho. Minho only shrugged before slipping his arms further around Changmin’s waist and looking blankly at the others in the booth.
“They have! You broke his heart,” Jongin suddenly slurred as he jumped up and pointed an accusing finger at Minho.
“You must be mistaken,” Minho just replied nonchalantly before shrugging again. All the time I was eyeing him. It tore at my heart-strings just a little bit that he was ignoring me. I loved him once and he hurt me but I hadn’t forgotten him. Maybe something happened?
“NO!”
“Hey Jongin-ah … shhhh,” I stared at him lightly before looking back at Changmin and Minho. Something was bugging me. Where they together? Where they a thing? Or was it just a fling?
“Um … are you two … like … together?” I stuttered as I looked at the pair.
“Yup!” Changmin giggled before hugging Minho closer. I could feel the storm clouds forming over my head as I stared them down. Jealousy settled itself in the pit of my stomach as I eyed Minho’s hands on Changmin and how they caressed him. I used to be in Changmin’s place. I used to be the one that Minho held and showered with gifts and was sweet to and … loved. And now it was Changmin. He knew all about my problems and now he was dating the devil himself. I hadn’t told him it was Minho but I wanted to now as they hugged.
“Well … um …con-“ the words seemed to get stuck in my throat.
“Thanks.” Sensing the awkwardness, Changmin smiled before tugging at Minho’s hand. “We should go.”
“Bye hyung,” I forced a smile onto my face as I watched the two of them disappear into the crowd.

It wasn’t until later that night when I was lying next to Jongin in his double bed that I realised I was, once again, being stupid. In the end, Minho was just a lying toad who was often mistaken for a sweet and innocent frog. Jongin, the cute little puppy that was next to me in deep slumber, was the one that really mattered. At the end of the day, he was the one that was waiting for me and he was the one that I wanted to wake up to in the morning. He was perfect.
“Hyung?” Suddenly my angel stirred. He groaned as he stretch and moved closer into my arms; snuggling into my body heat.
“Mmmmmmm?” I mumbled, not wanting to wake him further. “Love you,” his voice was muffled against my chest as he slipped into dreamland again.
“I love you too.”
