Memories of Her.

The morning began foggy; early morning was often this way in the centre of the park. B.A.P had returned
to their apartment for the night, but would return early the next morning with Kyuhyun to track down Zelo.
He was a traitor in their eyes, even lower than he had been to them before. They would find him, and kill
 him. That was their plan.

"Did he forget why we're doing this?" Youngjae asked. "What's wrong with him!?" He kicked a rock across
the ground concentrated on the sounds around him. His ability was sound, and the ability to manipulate it.
This also meant he could try and track down Zelo by listening to sound waves in the air, amplified 300
times their normal volume. If Zelo was so much as breathing within a 500 metre radius of Youngjae, he could
 find him easily.

"You know what's wrong with him."Himchan swore. "He's a stupid little kid."

"So were you once." Jongup said with a cheeky grin. Himchan faked a punch and grunted at the other man.
Daehyun bent over, running his hands along a vine that ran through the trees to the ground.

"Can't find him anywhere..." he mumbled, standing up. "Let's spread out." Kyuhyun nodded, looking over to
Youngjae.

"Can you set us up?" he asked. Youngjae nodded, walking over to each member and touching the space behind
their left ears. This insured each of the search crew could now hear each other from a long distance away even
 if they whispered.

"I'll take north, in the city." Daehyun said cooly, stepping onto a thick plant leaf that carried him away.

"Then I'll take north, still in the park." Yongguk said, gliding northwards as if he was on ice.

"South for me." Himchan said monotonously. "Don't any of you other bozos take south too." He pulled a long,
sharp bone from his leg and it grew back simultaneously, leaving him to stomp away through the bushes and
swing his bone-machete to cut a clearer path.

"I'll take west then." Jongup manipulated a metal rod he kept in his jacket and reformed it into a knife, heading
 eastwards.

"Guess that leaves me with east?" Youngjae asked casually, listening more to his music than anything else.
Kyuhyun nodded, yanking the headphones off of the startled boy.

"And I'll stay here and search." Youngjae nodded and began walking eastwards. It was strange for Zelo to act
that way, he thought to himself. Youngjae and Zelo were the closest out of the group simply because they were
the most relaxed about things. While everyone was freaking out and rushing jobs, Zelo and Youngjae would
always be clear headed and think of solutions quickly. To see him acting panicked and rebelliously scared
Youngjae a little, because it was the exact opposite of the boy he knew. They had been friends more than
associates since day one, never a bad word exchanged between the two of them - unless it was about how hard
their training was. Youngjae would let Zelo have his cherry tomatoes on every occasion, just as when Zelo had
a lot of meat he would automatically give the extra's to Youngjae. When Zelo was teased and hurt by the other
members, Youngjae would be the one to sneak into his room at night, wipe his tears, and bandage his wounds.
They were closer than crossed fingers, closer than corn kernels on a cob, close; but not a couple. Where there was
Youngjae, there was Zelo, and when one seemed to be alone, the other was never far behind.

Things had changed of course, when they arrived on earth.

Zelo had been more distant. He didn't tell Youngjae what was on his mind, he didn't really talk to anyone. He
went out on his own more often, on walks or on missions. It bothered Youngjae a lot, but it wasn't his place to
say anything. He would just have to sit by and watch while the closest thing to a brother he has ever had drifted
farther away with each passing day.

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard Yongguk's voice from near 1 kilometre north.

"Say again?" Youngjae asked, not hearing what he said the first time.

"I see his neck mask up ahead. He probably took it off to get some air in there, so he might be close." Yongguk
said. "I'll let you know whether to bother coming over." Youngjae silently prayed that Yongguk wouldn't hurt
Zelo. He stayed silent, waiting for the next update from Yongguk, his whole body tensed up.

"That little er had better be ready for a beating." Himchan cursed loud and clear from 500 metres south.
There was a long silence on the lines, when suddenly Yongguk spoke.

"..." it wasn't an angry curse, nor was it spiteful. It was a kind of curse that makes one worry.

"Did you let him get away?" Daehyun spoke calmly with a vicious undertone.

Yongguk took a step forward and shook his head slowly, unsure of how to feel. Zelo was a traitor, but he was
also a comrade. He lifted the neck mask and clenched it in his fist, looking only a few inches past where he
was standing to see a steep drop down the side of a river bank. This was a river that ran through the centre of
town, but it also ran here with a lot more energy and depth.

"That kid was never much of a swimmer..." He whispered. It would have been impossible, he thought, running
through the bush at night time for Zelo to have avoided the river and/or stayed afloat in it. He sighed and put
the mask back in his pocket.

"Call off the search." he said clearly.

"What about his punishment!?" Himchan yelled.

"I think the river beat us to it." Yongguk replied, keeping a solemn and angry gaze.

Youngjae let one tear escape, but it was followed by dozens more. He fell to his knees and covered his face
with his hands, shaking violently to contain the noises that would come from his imminent sobs. He couldn't let
the others know how he felt. For all he and the others knew, Zelo was gone - Youngjae's 'brother' - right when
he needed him most. I always dried your tears, his thoughts made his head throb. Where are you to dry mine?

~*~*~

Lay sighed in boredom as he looked out the tall windows of Ryeowook's house. He lived behind a tall row of
hedges in his front garden, so there was no danger of anyone seeing him. This also meant there was no chance
of Lay seeing anything but tall hedges everyday. The golden sun shone over the hedges and in through the
window, illuminating Lay's face with a golden halo that seemed to make his brown eyes glow. His soft brown
hair looked as if it was spun from a mythical fleece. Hyoyeon watched as he lifted his delicate hand to brush
his hair from his face. She loved to people-watch, but it seemed the one she loved to see the most was Lay.
She smiled when she saw him crease his forehead, and stood up, walking to sit beside him.

"Penny for your thoughts?" she asked. He sighed.

"How much longer will I have to live like this?" he said outright. "Sitting inside for the rest of my life in constant
danger isn't the most appealing way to live."

"I'm sure it won't be much longer. Amber is working on something now so you can 'see your old friends' I think
she said." Hyoyeon brushed her hair behind her ear. "And Lay?"

"Yeah?" he asked, tilting his head.

"I'm sorry for not believing you before." she said quietly. "I shouldn't have doubted you about all this. I saw first
hand how real it all is."

"It's ok." he said with a smile. "Anyone would have thought I was crazy, heck even I thought I was crazy at first!"
She smiled.

"Thanks." she said in reply.

"No problem." He replied. "So what did you say Amber way doing?"

~*~*~

Amber combed her fingers through her hair in the dark room she had isolated herself in. Lay's health was in her
hands and she was the only one who would know how to save him. She knew that in order to make a portal to
another place, you didn't need to have powers, only a spell. However that was the hard part. The spell was long
and complex, and over the last 24 hours Amber had only managed to work out a small part of it. She had combined
the necessary test ingredients - they combined to create a liquid that would glow when the correct combination of
words were said to it. Amber had learnt the spell at least 10 years ago and hadn't revised it since that time because
she had never needed to use it. Onew always made portals for them. She recited the first 50 words, watching the
liquid glow brightly. When she said the 51st word it dimmed, and she slammed her fists on the desk again. She let
out a shaky breath and started again, reciting each word with a certain fluency. She wondered how the ancestors of
origin ever had the patience to create these spells in the first place. When she reached the 51st word this time, it
continued to glow, and her eyes grew wide. She recited the next word and her eyes fell as the liquid grew dim. This
language was one not known to anyone outside of the EXO/ENDO guardians as they were part of one planet. She
wrote down the 51st word on her list and began again. No matter how long it was going to take, she was willing to
endure. For Lay's sake.

Yo readers! How ya'll doing?

So I decided to tell you all some interesting facts about 'Her eyes...'

1) originally I planned for her to end up with Luhan

2) When I first started writing I was making it up as I went along and had no idea who the villlians would be.

3) I originally planned for ____ (you) to die at the end

4) The training was meant to be 20 or so chapters longer but then I got bored and interrupted it with EXO.

5) I tossed up the idea of having Lay jump in the way of the porcupine spine and die instead of Luhan, but I decided
you guys probably wouldn't like that ^^ I also thought of having Luhan die because Lay couldn't heal him in time.

6) Amber dieing was a spur of the moment thing, I only thought of it as I was writing that chapter. I decided because
it was a war and not everyone survives wars... thats kind of common knowledge.

Hope you guys are enjoying my fic so far, The sheet music for miracles of december comes out on the 8th of december
so I'll be learning that the second it does! I'll post a link to my cover when I'm done!
