It was more dangerous now than ever for Lay, and that was because B.A.P had found out that he had
 come into contact with Kai through Zelo's scouting mission. They would need to call in extra help 
now, the help that so far had been kept a secret from the world, the help that had been in plain sight 
the whole time. It was becoming too risky to simply 'monitor the situation' as they had been, they
 needed to take action now. They had planned a trap to lure Lay into the centre of the park so they 
could end things before they got out of hand. Now all that was left was to wait for the bait to be taken.

His phone rang with a certain sharpness that cut the air like a knife

"Who is it?" Ryeowook was at Lay's house for a pizza and movie night, but paused the horror film 
when the ring tone pierced the air. Lay checked the caller ID before answering with a casual; "Hey man, 
what's up?"

"There's trouble." He answered in a concerned voice.

"Woah, what's wrong?" Lay asked suddenly.

"I don't know what's going on, I just walked past the park and I saw Hyoyeon tied up-"

"Wait, Hyoyeon is tied up in the park!?" Lay's voice was just as panicked as his friend's. Ryeowook 
stood up abruptly."Who the hell-" 

"Look, I don't know! But there's a group of guys surrounding her too, you need to get down here right
 now to help me fight them off, ok!?" Lay snapped his phone shut the second he heard that there was a
 group of guys. He knew in the back of his mind exactly who it was, and prayed he wasn't too late. 
Why they had to bring Hyoyeon into this whole thing was still a mystery to him, but he wouldn't let her
 get hurt for his sake. He didn't bother tying the laces of his shoes or putting on a jacket, and ran straight 
out as fast as his legs could take him. Ryeowook ran after him, his feet slapping the ground in a furious
 rush. Someone had the nerve to hurt his best friend and that didn't sit well with him. As they arrived at
 the entrance to the park, they saw a path made through the bush, and decided to follow it. His friend
 usually took his walk through the centre of the park as a shortcut, so the path was probably made by him.
 Through the darkness made dim by the faint moonlight, it was hard for Lay to see the flimsy branches in
 his path that hit him in the face. Everything became a blur as he rushed through the thick bush before 
stopping abruptly at the sound of familiar voices in the clearing ahead. Ryeowook caught up to him and
 stopped behind him as well.

"Why did you stop?" Ryeowook asked quietly. Lay shushed him, before double taking to stare incredulously
 at Ryeowook. In his panicked rush out the door, he didn't even realize Ryeowook was following him. Lay
 took a pause, looking out to the group of men he could see in the clearing. No doubt about it, they were 
the thug gang Amber had told him were called B.A.P. He turned to Ryeowook, stone-cold eyes telling him
 this was no joking matter.

"Stay here." He said sternly. "Stay hidden, and no matter what don't come out." Ryeowook looked at Lay 
with a stare that said "Are you kidding me?" Lay returned an equally powerful stare loaded with his orders
 and darted out of the thick bush. Ryeowook inched forward in the bush, contemplating whether or not to 
follow his friend, or listen to who knew more than him about this situation. His mind was made up when he
 saw one man lift his hand, and a vine shot up from under the ground simultaneously. Ryeowook froze, 
staring at the group of men, instantly realizing what he had gotten himself into simply by being there.

"They're not human..." He whispered, slowly creeping back a little further into the bushes. It would be wise
 now, not to be seen.

"Is he even gonna show up?" Youngjae asked, fiddling with the earphones in his pocket.

"He'll be here, unless he actually wants us to kill his friend." Himchan chuckled. Hyoyeon stared up 
and the men with wide, fearful eyes. Tears streamed down her face as she struggled against the rope
 handcuffs that held her to the tree. Her vision had been covered by a blindfold, but was free now. 
The bandanna that choked her words still cut into the corners of her mouth, though. She scanned across
 each of their faces, knowing if she got out of this she would be able to describe them for the police.
 She prayed like crazy that she should be so lucky. Her eyes stopped on a familiar face, staring down at
 her with the same worried look on his face. She felt betrayed, and at the same time stupid for trusting a
 stranger. The boy who had been so kind to her when she was alone and miserable was standing in front
 of her in the gang, no longer her saviour but her enemy. Of course she didn't know that Zelo never meant
 to hurt her or drag her into any of this, but it was against his power. The maknae was not allowed to 
speak up, and if said maknae did, he would be put back in his place with more force than required.

"Wait, here he comes." Jongup hushed the others. Hyoyeon watched as one of the men - Daehyun - raised
 his hand, and with it a thick vine shot upwards from the ground like a spear. It stood at his command like
 a soldier ready to attack. Hyoyeon squirmed and tried to break free, but Himchan stomped down on her
 foot and held her in place.

"Now now sweetie." he said in a mocking tone. "You can't leave now, the party is just getting started." 
Hyoyeon's head shot up once she heard a familiar voice sounding a lot colder than she was used to.

"You don't have any business with her. Let her go." Lay's voice was like ice, sending shivers down Zelo's 
spine.

"How do you know what business we have?" Yongguk shot back in a sarcastic tone. Lay thinned his lips 
and quickened his pace. "That is an interesting answer." Yongguk said again, his voice cruel and 
patronizing. "But here's my rebuttal."

Before Lay could even react, the vine that Daehyun had been waiting with shot forward and wrapped around 
his ankle, jerking him up into the air and dangling him upside down like a rag-doll. His face grew red as the
 blood rushed down to it and he grew angrier by the second. Lay writhed about, trying to grab something 
he could pull himself up on, but there was nothing.

"What's wrong with you!?" Lay hissed, clearly pissed off. He had every reason to be, he had fallen for their
 trap - and Hyoyeon was still in danger.

"I can't believe you fell for it!" Himchan laughed. "You're a ing idiot!"

"Yah!" Lay cried, thrashing his arms around him.

"That's enough." A voice that struck fear through Lay called out from the shadows. "Stop playing with 
him and do your job."

"Yessir." Yongguk turned to the side and bowed, addressing the man behind all of their actions. Lay saw 
Hyoyeon crying and shaking her head. He turned to see Ryeowook in the bushes, eyes wide with fear and
 disbelief.

Lay had wondered where that man was this whole time, this answered his question. There he stood, face 
confident and smirking while B.A.P bowed to him with great respect. He had planned everything from day
 one. He was behind the attacks, the injuries and everything else, and Lay sunk when he realized how 
careless he had been.

"He showed up, just like you said." Yongguk said.

"I haven't seen you in a while." The man replied. "Good to see you."

"Good to see you too." The man replied.

"Kyuhyun..."

Lay's voice became raspy with rage and disbelief. His friend, one of the only people he knew and
 trusted in this still foreign world, had been plotting his death this whole time. And Lay had let out
 every detail that would aid him in such a careless way. To say he felt sick was a definite understatement.

"What's wrong with you...? How can you... Why are you doing this!? I thought you were our friend!?"
 Lay cried. "How could you bring innocent lives into something between the two of us? How could you 
endanger Hyoyeon?" Kyuhyun's lip twitched and he took a step forwards.

"You don't get it, do you?" he said incredulously. "It's not just between you and I. There are two entire 
planets that desperately need a power source to survive. Our people are dieing, and we need you out of
 the picture so we can harvest the tree of life. Innocent people are dying, and you think this is just between
 the two of us? Pathetic." He walked up to Lay, so their faces were inches apart and smirked. "And for your
 information, Hyoyeon means nothing to me." Hyoyeon cried out and tried to jump up, but was instantly 
silenced by a harsh back-handed slap from Yongguk.

"Shut up." He spat. Zelo growled and stood up. "What?"

"Don't hurt her." He said lowly. "She didn't do anything."

"What did you say  wipe?" Yongguk asked. "Are you ordering me around!?" He approached Zelo with
 his chest puffed and his fists balled at his sides.

"Stop it you two." Kyuhyun said calmly, and the two warriors instantly froze.

"Why do they only listen to you?" Lay asked through gritted teeth.

"Because I'm their leader." Kyuhyun replied sadistically. 

And Lay lost consciousness a that moment.

"The core of your planet..." The girl who he had grown rather fond of simply through these memories was 
sitting in a hotel room as part of a circle formed by his friends whom he had remembered over the last few 
months and one other stranger. The girl wore a pair of dark sunglasses and sat uneasily on a chair.

"That's right." Suho said. "And without you, everyone on the planet will die, including the planet itself."

"And what about not looking into my eyes?" she asked. That explained the sunglasses.

"Just as all 12 of us have special powers that we draw from the tree of life, so do you." Suho replied calmly.
 Her eyes lit up and Lay felt happy just looking at her.

"So I get a power?" She asked excitedly. "Can I fly, or control the elements?" The boys laughed.

"No, those are already taken." Chen laughed. "You get something else."

"You have the power to make men fall in love with you just by making eye contact with them." Suho explain.
 The girl suddenly looked surprised and held a hand to her lips as her cheeks slowly pinkened.

"However you can't control your powers yet. That's why we need to train you, to strengthen your powers so 
you can use your abilities on cue." Kris explained, sitting upright in his chair.

"How long do I have to train?" The girl asked, a hopeful smile on her face. Kris shook his head, his face 
showing the opposite.

"A rough estimate of only two years..." He replied.

Lay didn't know what happened next. He was out cold, but he still had hope. There was someone else on his side.
