The guardians arrived in the centre of a small clearing, located in a forest outside of the town. When 
the smoke cleared away you were able to scope out your surroundings and vantage points. It was a
 partially cloudy day at exactly 10:00am earth time, and the smell of the air brought back memories
 you wanted to forget. You had all trained yourselves in a special room a few months ago that was 
similar to earth's atmosphere. It was obvious that Suho had thought of every conclusion, and wanted 
to prepare the guardians for everything - including the chance of war on earth. It wasn't comfortable 
here; but it was easier than before.

You looked over to your left, still holding Lay's hand tightly whilst everyone else had let go. A girl 
with long blonde hair stood looking in your direction with wide, shimmering eyes. She looked frozen,
 the only movement her lips parting slightly to utter a name.

"Lay..." You felt Lay tug on your hand, and only realized then that you had been frozen, too.

"Come on." He said softly. "Suho's about to give us first orders." You nodded and walked with him to 
the large sack of bottles Baekhyun had taken with him full of energy potion. Suho said something quiet
 to D.O, who nodded and raised a hand. Four solid earth walls spouted from the ground to shield the 
sack of bottles.

"We haven't got much time, so your first orders are to spread out to your positions like we discussed
 in the plan. Our relayers are Amber and Hyoyeon," The two waved as he gestured to them. One 
energetically and one shyly. "Taemin, set up the links." Taemin put a hand to his forehead and moved
 it around in a circle as everyone felt a certain other presence light up inside their minds.

"Can everyone hear me?" He asked through thought, followed by a 'yes' from each person. Taemin 
nodded and looked over to Suho.

"This way we can communicate should there be a change in plans or when you need a potion." He
 paused, looking around to make sure there weren't any intruders. "We have five enemies - four of 
them are from Mato Planet - you'll recognise their attire - and the last is the most powerful: Kyuhyun; 
the last of the Supermen. You'll recognise his aura straight away. If you find yourself in battle with 
him, by all means call reinforcements. Do not face him alone." 

"That's everything we have to say. Move off to your new locations..." Kris said, taking a pause. "And
 good luck. May fate be on your side." the guardians took one long look at each other, some who had
 only been reunited for a few months after years of war, before dashing off. All except for Key.

As soon as they were given permission to move off, he ran over to Amber and engulfed her in his arms.
 The two of them were silent for a while, before Amber snapped out of her daze and spoke.

"K-Key..."

" I thought I'd lost you Amber! I thought you were dead!" He cried loudly, his face buried in 
Amber's shoulder while she stared straight ahead.

"Key... It's ok." As much as Amber wanted to cherish this reunion she thought she would never have, 
she knew there wasn't much time before the enemy arrived. Their relationship was a complicated one.
 They weren't actually a couple, but each of them had feelings for the other and were much more than
 just friends. They wouldn't date anyone else even though they were single; if they did they would feel
 like they were betraying each other, and they never had feelings for anyone else anyway. As far as the
 other guardians were concerned - they were actually dating.

"Amber..." Key pulled out of the hug to look at her face.

"Key listen," Amber began. "I know how you must be feeling right now... I've felt the same way since I 
left." She paused. "But we'll be immersed in war any second now. EXO needs you, your partner needs 
you... And I need you to stay alive." Key nodded, his hands holding hers lightly. He noticed how thin and
 weary she was (from working on the portal spell) and held worry in his mind. 

"Be careful Amber." He said, not breaking eye contact."You're a mortal now." Amber nodded and
 reluctantly pulled her hands from inside Key's

"Go." She said softly, and Key sighed as he turned away from her.

"See ya later." He called.

"I'd better!" Amber threatened, laughing slightly. She didn't move or look away until Key had disappeared 
from sight, then finally she let her shoulders slump.

"Amber?" Hyoyeon called, distracting her from her trance. She turned around and answered with a hum. "Are
 you alright?"

"Yeah." A forced smile spread on her face. "I'm fine." Amber made her way over to the centre where Lay, you, 
Suho and Hyoyeon were standing around the stone potion box made by D.O. "Anyway Hyoyeon, this is 
Suho." She said, gesturing towards the smiling leader. "He's one of our leaders and also one of the strongest. 
You know Lay and I already, but this is..." Amber trailed off, knowing it was still a slightly raw subject.

"My name is ____," You said cheerily, reaching a hand out to shake hers. She shyly reached out and shook it. 

"And she's also... My girlfriend." Lay knew it would need to be said, and his voice was soft so to not upset
 her. He made it clear to her that he loved you, yet he also made it clear that he wasn't trying to hurt her with
 his words. Just state a point that needed to be stated. Hyoyeon blushed slightly. Although it was still very 
much an open wound, she was fascinated by you.

"So you're the girl, huh?" she asked. You tilted your head to the side, not understanding. "It must have been 
at least two or three months ago now; I can't remember. Lay started talking about this girl non-stop, everyday.
 He started trying to remember her and find out things about her. He put himself in a lot of danger, you know."
 You looked up at Lay, whos vision was fixed on the ground. "That girl was you. At the time I was a little
 skeptical, but now I see it was all worth it. Thank you for being his motivation." You smiled a genuine smile 
and nodded. Lay moved his gaze over to you, leaning close to your face.

"You'd better get going." He said reluctantly, though his arm didn't leave your waist. You looked up at him as
 Suho called Hyoyeon over to him. Your faces were inches apart, and you took time to appreciate the close
 proximity. Lay stayed staring into your eyes, his own captivating you completely. You felt him bring you 
closer by your waist and slightly lift you up so that your faces were almost touching.

"Yeah." You said barely above a whisper. "I guess so." You used every inch of resistance in you to move away
 from him. Though it was slow, you still managed to release yourself from his arms. You turned your back to
 him and began to walk towards the trees. Saying goodbye to him now would be too hard. It was easier for
 you to just walk away. Just as you were about to reach the tree line, you felt a hard tug, and you lost your 
balance as you whirled around to see what had pulled you. Lay caught you before you fell any further and 
pulled you tight against his body, pressing his lips to yours before you even realized what had happened. You 
closed your eyes and relished the moment of the sweet taste of his lips on yours. The kiss made you almost 
forget about the war, but it ended too soon. Lay pulled away and rested his forehead on yours, his eyes still closed.

"Don't just leave me like that." Lay whispered, his arms still tightly wrapped around your waist. "Be careful."
 His hot breath hit your skin and you shivered slightly.

"You too." Lay nodded and slowly released you, his eyes not leaving your face for even a second.

As Key arrived at his position with Ren, not much time passed before they felt a dangerous presence
 surround them. Ren looked up and his eyebrows creased.

"It's starting." He whispered. "But how did they know where we were?" Key looked up too, the sky was
 an eerie shade.

"And why didn't they go straight for Lay instead of coming to meet us." He clenched his fists. "What is 
their plan?"

"Surely they didn't know we were all waiting for them..." Ren said, shaking his head. Before Key could
 answer, their hypothesis was proven as Yongguk sped suddenly in front of them, sliding along the 
ground like it was made of ice.

"I thought I'd find you here." He grinned like a cat that was stalking a mouse, and it made Ren shiver. 
The aura of this guy was no joke.

"Who are you?" Key said intimidatingly. "And how did you know we were here?"

"All good questions," Yongguk said patronizingly. "But I'm afraid you'll have to wait till the end before 
they're answered. Key heard other voices begin to speak in the back of his mind. It was the telepathy link
 between the other guardians.

"Hyungs, we have a problem."

"Hey, I think the enemy just got here."

"Be careful! The enemy just arrived and they're no joke!"

Key looked around him momentarily as he heard battle commence throughout the forest. One thing was clear.

Their ambush had been reversed, the enemy knew they would be here and had planned everything accordingly.

And now everyone was surrounded.
