His Final Time Forgetting.
Memories of Her.
As the other guardians and warriors finally came through the bushes from all areas dragging wounded
comrades with them, all the tiny noises in the world seemed to amplify in your ears. You had already
almost lost Lay once, you weren't prepared to do it again. He was so selfless, so brave. He had saved
the whole world by putting the explosion in his head and now faced a terrifying possibility.
"What the heck was that light just now?" Taemin asked, looking around the clearing. He saw Yongguk
impaled on a tree, and no sight of Kyuhyun. Suho explained the situation to Taemin and the others who
had appeared, right from the moment Kyuhyun had entered the clearing. Some of the warriors became
teary eyed when they learnt of their leader's fate, and instantly sided with EXO. Suho continued to explain,
and lingered on the last word as he turned to let the guardians get a better view of what he was trying to explain.
Finally, they all heard your cries.
A few sat in solemn stares for a long while, unsure of how to react. Lay was too good to them, really.
"Was there no other way he could have done it?" Jongup asked, his face starting to droop too. Suho shook
his head.
"We should have all died. What Lay did shouldn't have been possible. It's a miracle he's still alive, but he
won't be for long." he replied. There was another silence.
"I think..." Taemin began. "I might be able to do something for him." Suho's eyes darted up to the young
boy, grabbing him by the shoulders.
"Explain, quickly, what can you do?" He asked, his eyes full of desperation.
"I was working on a technique a while ago where I'm able to blur out images and direct memories from
someones mind so they seem insignificant. It's like when you walk into a room and can't remember what
you were going to do, so you just forget about trying to remember and do something else. I can blur out
the memories from Lay's mind just enough so that this entire war and the explosion seem like distant
memories. He'll still remember them, but they'll seem like something he saw on t.v late at night. Nothing
important that he'll try to remember." Taemin explained. There was the tiniest smudge of a chance that the
block and the explosion would cancel each other out due to the size of each of them, but it was highly
unlikely. Still, Taemin prayed for a miracle in his head so many times he swore he'd go crazy. Suho squeezed
his shoulders and nodded, letting Taemin walk past and make his way to Lay. It was risky, but Suho knew
he could trust Taemin. The thing that bothered Suho the most, is that once again the guardians would be
separated from Lay. Although it was ok for them to greet him if they saw him on the street, nothing more
would be allowed. If they made a bond with him, the dangerous memory could come back of the explosion,
and Lay would die instantly. The memory of you was still allowed, Suho thanked God for that, but Lay and
you would have to live elsewhere from there on in.

"Where will you go?" Kris asked the conscious Mato Warriors who held their comrades up. They
exchanged glanced among themselves, nodding with solemn expressions.
"We've decided to go back to Mato." Youngjae replied.
"But there's no power there, you'll die!" Kris protested. "You're our allies now, surely you can come
back to EXO with us?" Jongup shook his head. "The air there is different, same with your planet and
earth. No matter where we go now, we'll die because the air won't let us survive." Kris cursed to himself,
and took a slow breath in.
"Are you sure you want to go back?" He asked.
"We're sure. We failed to protect everyone we ever loved and care about. We made them empty promises
and gave them false hope. It's our duty to die where we failed to protect, to end our lives on the planet
we ended up killing... To rest in peace with our families. I'm sure Yongguk wants to be with his sister
now, too." Zelo replied bravely. "It's been an honour. Let us know what happens to Lay, ok?" A portal
opened up behind them, and one by one the warriors filed through it. Kris saw through to how their
planet looked. It was desolate, destroyed. They wouldn't last more than a week there.
Zelo stopped before going through the portal, turning around with a sad smile on his face.
"Oh, and Hyoyeon?" He said, causing her to lift her head and make eye contact with him.
"Yes..?" She asked quietly. Zelo took a deep breath and looked down at the ground.
"...Nothing..."
He didn't know how to tell her he loved her. He was about to die, yet he couldn't get the words out of his
mouth.
Before he stepped through the portal, he felt a delicate hand grab his wrist. Slowly Zelo turned around,
looking into Hyoyeon's eyes as she was right there behind him.
"Please tell me... You won't get another chance." She said, tears welling up in her eyes. In that moment Zelo
cupped her cheeks and pulled her forward so that his lips met her forehead gently and sweetly. He stayed
that way for a few seconds, Hyoyeon's eyes wide with tears slowly falling from them down her cheeks. As
Zelo pulled away he looked into her eyes with the same sad smile.
"You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen."
Hyoyeon stayed still as he stood up, her eyes staring in front of her. When the sound of the portal closing
rang out, Hyoyeon snapped out of her frozen state, a small, shy smile on her lips.

You held Lay in a tight embrace as you cried loudly, muffling your cries in his shirt. You didn't want to be
away from Lay ever again, and now that his life was in danger, you were more afraid of losing him than
ever. You just wanted him to wake up and wrap his arms around you. To tell you everything would be ok
and that he would stay by your side as long as you needed him. The reality was: he may never do that again.
"Please move aside, I think I can help him." You heard a voice coming through the small crowd of people
around you, and raised your head to see who it was. Taemin knelt on the ground beside you and put a
gentle hand on your arm.
"Don't worry. I'll do my best." He said with a light smile. You reluctantly let Lay go and helped rest him
against Taemin so their left and right temples were pressed together. Luhan helped you up from the ground
and wrapped his arms around you, kissing the top of your head lightly to calm you down in a brotherly way.
"It's ok, you can trust Taemin. His specialty is the mind." You nodded into Luhan's chest, praying like crazy
that this wouldn't be the last time you saw Lay alive.
"Alright." Taemin said quietly. "I'm gonna start the treatment now."
Everyone went silent as Taemin began his work.

He awoke that morning with a smile on his face. Sun streamed in his window and he could hear the birds
chirping in the blossom trees outside. The white sheets in his new bed smelt of someone else, but he loved
that smell because of who it belonged to.
He tightened his embrace around you only slightly, and kissed the bare skin on your shoulder to gently
wake you up. You inhaled deeply, a smile also on your face because you knew that you were waking
up in his arms. It was all you had ever wanted and more.
"Good morning beautiful." He said in his morning voice. "Did you sleep well?" You could feel heat radiating
from his bare chest against your back and you loved it. You turned around in his arms and placed a gentle
kiss against his lips. "I'll take that as a yes." He laughed, his smile triggering one of your own. You rested
your head against his chest for a moment, before looking up into his eyes.
"I love you, Lay." You said softly. Lay smiled at you and kissed you tenderly.
"I love you too." he replied against your lips.
Later that morning Lay got dressed and got out of bed, as did you. You sat in each others company on your
porch with a cup of coffee each, enjoying the simplicity and peacefulness life now had to offer.
As Lay looked out over the quiet little street, you noticed a puff of curling black smoke supposedly hidden
behind a tall hedge. A small smile curled onto your lip as you knew exactly who you were about to see. Kai
walked from around the corner dressed as a mailman, holding a single letter and no bag. You chuckled to
yourself. He wasn't too accurate with the costuming, but you still gave him kudos for trying.
"Ah good, our mailman is here." Lay said, standing up with a content smile on his face. He walked over to
Kai thinking of him as 'just a mailman', though something more could be seen in Kai's eyes. The younger
looked over to you and tipped his hat with a smile, and you smiled back and waved as Lay returned with
the letter. He stayed standing as he read the writing on the envelope. 'Strange' he thought. 'Usually there's
an address, but there only four words here. How did our mailman know where to deliver it to? 'Suho & the
gang'... They sound familiar... Oh well." Lay opened the letter and began to read it in his head. You watched
as his eyes scanned over the piece of paper, becoming wider by the end of it. Lay took a deep breath as he
finished the letter, lowering his hand slowly as he stared forward. It was as if something in his mind had
suddenly changed, his eyes aglow with information. It was as if Taemin's prayers had come true.
"Lay..? Is everything ok?" You asked, slowly standing up. Lay let the letter fall from his hand as it landed
face down on the wooden porch.
"We need to go now." Lay said suddenly. He took your hand gently in his and looked you in the eye. "Just
follow me."
The two of you ran down the street with Lay in front, you had no idea where you were going or what was
in the letter, but you were sure of one thing -You could always trust Lay.
Lay walked quickly down the long corridors of the EXO Mansion, still holding your hand. His rapid footsteps
echoing on the marble floors and the sunlight gleaming brightly from the windows gave the entire building
a kind of white glow.
Lay reached the doors at the end of the hallway and pushed them, not slowing down.
They burst open, revealing EXO and ENDO sitting in their seats in the meeting room, each of them suddenly
lifting their heads and staring in a mixture of happiness and shock at the people before them. Suho stood up
slowly from his seat, lowering his glasses.
"Lay..." He let out in an exasperated breath.
"You're wrong." Lay said strongly, interrupting Suho.
"I remember you..."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Dear Lay...
How have you been? I hope you've recovered well.
Taemin told me you wouldn't remember anything, so I guess I'd better fill you in.
I'm no one important, but you're important to me; to us actually. Don't try to remember who we
are, there's no benefit from that. Just think of us as strangers - Strangers who love and care for you.
You recently moved to this area with your fiance, ____. You'll remember her, I know that for sure.
Because you're new here, you won't have many friends yet, but don't worry.
You will always have us as friends, whether you remember us or not.
You mean more to us than family, always remember that.
Take care of yourself, Lay. We all worry about you from time to time, so don't over do it, ok?
Yours sincerely;
Suho and the gang."
===================================================================================================================
"Do you remember our promise..?" "As long as we both have our roses, nothing can ever separate us. We may
be apart in body, but never in soul." "I promise you; I won't ever leave you alone again."
*Cries because it's over* Oh wow I've been writing this technically since like 2012 and I can't believe it's finally
finished!
I hope you all liked the ending, though I'm thinking of writing an alternate one and putting it up as another
chapter, it depends though.
This has honestly been so much fun for me to write and although I've been slacking a bit I really am so thankful
to all of you who have stayed until the end and given me support. It's helped to give me a kick in the when I
needed it haha.
I was thinking about it the other day and you guys have been with me for a long time, through a lot of events in my
life; my first break-up, my school ball, my graduation, the stress of finding a university and the day where I was
finally accepted into one. You've been there when I was sick, when I was crying and most importantly when I
posted up a chapter haha. It's a bit hard to understand when I'm on one side of the screen and you're on the other
because you can't see my face or my emotion, but sometimes I would post a chapter and wait for comments just
so I could read them and feel good about myself because my state of mind was so crap. You've really made me
happy even if you don't think you have simply because right from 'Her Eyes...' every time I saw that I had gained
even 1 subscriber it meant that one more person thought my story was good, and that's a great feeling.
Thank you so much to my avid commentors as well, I was going to mention you all by username but I have no
internet to check with, I'm writing this authors note in the word document rather than right on AFF like usual haha.
There have been so many story lines and plot twists and endings and even small scenarios which I have planned
and then thrown away, or ones I have come up with on the spot (like the Zelo one with Hyoyeon at the end haha).
If you like my writing style then I am still writing another couple of stories;
~Circus of fears (KaixOC) A girl who has been abused for a deranged circus act her whole life is rescued by Kai
one night after a show, and is then taught how to read, write, and what love really is. [Updated Regularly]
~Dream-Shot (random) A collection of one-shots based off of dreams I have had. My dreams are not normal haha,
they could be movies. [Updated every time I have a good dream]
~D.O you believe in Kyungsanta Clause? (EXO) A crack fic my sister and I are writing about EXO on christmas.
It's pretty dumb but we needed somewhere to put all our ideas haha. [Updated Rarely]
Also if you haven't already, please check out my HunHan fic - Sanguinaria. I worked really hard on that, but it
seems like my efforts were in vain. Thank you to those ho have read it though ^^
Oh wow, I don't want to end this authors note. We may meet again another day, but until then have a great life
and to those of you who may stumble upon this story long after it has finished, don't be a stranger and tell me
what you think of it.
You guys are my rock, my final word of advice is: Don't think less of yourself, don't compare yourself to others
and don't care what others think of you. If there were no comparisons there would be no fat or skinny, no
pimply or smooth-faced, no short and no tall. Believe in something and shut bad thoughts out.
Catch ya later.
