Scream
HopelessOkay so here's an A/N about what I said in the last chapter...
I'm sorry if I sounded rude, offended anyone, or just sounded like I was around for comments. It's not like that. I didn't mean to put anyone on the spot, either. I was just freaking out because I'm used to getting a certain number of comments so when that number dropped for chapter, I got a little scared, especially since I was unsure whether I wrote that chapter to my liking >_< so my apologies. And I thank everyone who has stuck with me in this story. I'm serious when I say that I appreciate you all, okay?
Now back to the story...
Jinsuk glared at the prosecutor sitting in front of him. The two men were sitting in silence, in the prison Jinsuk was finally sent back to.
Finally, the prosecutor sighed.
"I still want my deal," Jinsuk said, folding his arms over his chest.
"You're not getting one," Prosecutor Hwang said. "I've made this clear. Once the jury finds you guilty you're going straight to death row."
Jinsuk scoffed. "Changmin shot a man," he reminded him. "And look at what Yunho did to me. And what do they get?"
Prosecutor Hwang let a cocky smile appear on his face. "They get the satisfaction of watching you walk away in chains, being sent to your prison cage like an animal." He scanned Jinsuk, noticing the man's injuries. No one could deny that Yunho really did a number on him. His face and arms was covered with bruises, his left eye was almost swollen shut, his upper and lower lips had scars where they split open after Yunho kept throwing punches. And those were just the injuries that weren't covered by Jinsuk's prison uniform. "Changmin and Yunho acted out of self defense," the prosecutor continued. "They won't be charged with anything. Besides, the whole world sees them as the victims. Everybody else hates you."
"Self defense?" Jinsuk said in disbelief. "I didn't even touch Yunho before he started attacking me."
The other man shook his head. "The jury won't see it that way," he said. "As far as they're concerned, you broke into Yunho and Changmin's home, giving Yunho every right to attack you."
Jinsuk scoffed again, looking away this time. "What if I told you that I have something you want?" He asked, a smirk forming on his lips.
Prosecutor Hwang rolled his eyes. "No thank you," he replied. "I'm happily married to my wife."
"That's very touching," Jinsuk replied, his face remained stoic. "But that's not what I meant."
Prosecutor Hwang sighed. "The most lenient thing I can offer you is life in prison," he said. "It's better for you to just get the death penalty."
Jinsuk shook his head. "There's a reason I need to stay alive as long as possible," he said. "Are you gonna give me the deal?"
"Let me hear your side first," the other man demanded. "What do you have?"
Jinsuk smiled. "I'm not a very loyal person, so I won't feel guilty doing this," he began. He leaned closer to the prosecutor, placing his hands on the table. "What if I give you names of everyone that ever asked of...my services?"
The prosecutor raised an eyebrow at this. "What do you mean?" he asked, wondering whether he heard correctly.
"I can give you the names of everyone who paid to Changmin, Yuki, Iljun. All of them," Jinsuk offered. He went back to sitting in his original position, folding his arms over his chest again. "But that's only if you're willing to make a deal. You want these people off the streets don't you?"
"Min," Yunho said kindly, placing a cup of tea on Changmin's bedside table. He thought it would help soothe his sore throat. "Do you remember what we have to do today?"
Changmin nodded, remaining silent as he looked at Yunho. The maknae had exhausted features all over his face, and they seemed to have intensified when Yunho started speaking. The leader almost regretted bringing up this topic.
Today, Changmin must meet the attorney prosecuting Jinsuk's case. They would also have a practice session as well, preparing Changmin for any question that may be thrown at him.
"We'll meet with the attorney at around one o'clock," Yunho continued, flashing his signature smile in hopes of lifting Changmin's spirits. It didn't work and he could easily tell. Yunho sighed, his demeanor dropping as he brought his hand up to Changmin's hair. He suddenly pulled Changmin close to him, holding him in a tight hug. "It'll be over soon. You're going to get your life back soon," he whispered. "Just trust us, okay?"
Changmin had yet to return the hug, but he nodded once again, this time almost robotically.
Yunho separated from him.
