It’s been a week and a half since I announced that I had a girlfriend, and despite the couple of crazies who seemed to think I owed it to them to stay single for the rest of my life, the response was generally pretty good. It was definitely a surprise, because I honestly did not expect them to be so understanding.

Jaeki came over to the dorm so we could bake a cake for Yoochun’s birthday, which was actually tomorrow, but we all had a schedule tomorrow so we were celebrating today instead. Junsu had dragged Yoochun out early this morning, claiming that they had to go redo a part of one of our new songs. Yunho and Changmin were out getting decorations and stuff, so we were left to do the cake.

I usually didn’t let anyone in the kitchen when I was using it, because the guys normally ended up hurting themselves somehow or setting something on fire. With Jaeki though, it was pretty fun, because she was actually a pretty good cook herself.

When the cake was finally in the oven and the timer was set, we began to clean up.

“Joongie~” Jaeki called out from behind me as I was washing the mixing bowls.

I paused for a moment, because since when did she call me that? My heart literally skipped a beat, because she’d always refused to call me anything except my name.

I looked back, only to have a handful of flour thrown in my face.

She did not just…

She was giggling like crazy, but went silent the moment I narrowed my eyes and glared at her.

“.”

I smirked as I turned off the tap and flicked soapy water at her.

“It’s on, baby.”

“Bring it, prettyboy!” she challenged jokingly.

After about fifteen minutes, we were covered in flour and soap bubbles. We were both exhausted from running around in the tiny kitchen. I grabbed another handful of flour and pretended to throw it at her. She screamed and ducked behind the counter.

“This is what you get for messing with Kim Jaejoong, babe~” I sang as I dumped the flour in the bin and moved slowly towards the counter.

“Ahhhh I’m drained, I call truce! How are you not dying right now? I don’t think I can stand back up again!” she whined cutely, not realizing that I was barely half a metre away from her.

By the time she noticed, it was too late. She practically jumped up and tried to run away, but of course, I caught her.

Wrapping my arms around her waist, I spun her around and whispered, “gotcha!”

Five minutes later, we had finished cleaning up the kitchen. We moved to the bathroom to clean the flour off of our faces, but we both burst into laughter the moment we looked in the mirror.

Suddenly, an idea popped into my head.

“Hang on babe, I gotta take a picture of this!” I fished my phone out of my pocket and snapped a photo in less than ten seconds.

In less than half a minute, that same photo was on twitter, with the caption, “My baby and I were baking a cake for Yoochunnie’s birthday! Kekeke Jaegiya you’re still so pretty even though you’re covered in flour~^^”

Jaeki peeked at my phone to see what I was doing and her eyes widened when she saw my twitter feed.

“Jaejoong! What did you do! Oh my God! Everyone’s gonna think I’m weird!” she squeaked as she slapped my arm weakly.

“Chill, baby~ And what happened to ‘Joongie’?” I pouted as I tried to calm her down.

“Ahhhhh Joongie-baby you look so cute when you pout~ Okay, fine, you look ridiculous in that photo too so I’m not alone~” she sang as she pinched my cheeks.

I froze when she said that, but then relaxed when I realized my fans probably were already well aware of the fact that I was pretty weird myself.

We cleaned all the stuff off before finishing up the cake and then reading through a couple of replies.

“Omo! Is that your girlfriend?”

“Is that Lee Jaeki?! Oppa and Jaeki are a couple?!??”

“Oppa, Jaeki’s so young! She’s two years younger than me!”

“Keke such a cute couple! 2Jae fighting!! \(^.^)/”

“Ahhhh Jaeki’s beautiful even when she’s covered in flour T.T”

“Omo! You two look so good together! And you both look so happy! 2Jae <3”

“2Jae is definitely the ultimate visual shock couple!!”

“Jaeki’s so pretty! Oppa, better treat her well >.<”

“Jaejoong oppa and Jaeki unni! I’m such a big fan of you both! I can’t believe you guys are together!! ^o^”

“Ahhh too much beauty for my eyes T.T 2Jae fighting!”

Glancing at each other, we both smiled and she hugged me, leaning into my chest.

Placing my phone on the table, I pulled her arms from my waist and cupped her face with my hands. Leaning down, I kissed her softly and shuddered as I felt her run her fingers through my hair.

End Jaejoong POV

Jaeki POV

My heart started to race when Jaejoong kissed me. I gasped when he moved one hand down to the small of my back and jerked me closer to him. I jumped, wrapping my legs around his waist while my arms remained hooked around his neck. Without even breaking the kiss, he walked to the living room and laid me down on the sofa. He was hovering over me and his black eyes seemed darker than normal, if that were even possible.

We stayed in that position for ages, just gazing into each other’s eyes. After what seemed like forever, I reached up to twirl several locks of his now jet-black medium length hair through my fingers and pulled him down so that our lips met once again.

It was at this precise moment that Yunho and Changmin returned, although the two of us didn’t even hear them come through the door.

“Okay kids, playtime’s over, we got a lot of work to do! C’mon! Let’s get this place decorated!” Changmin calmly half-yelled while dumping a couple of carrier bags on the floor.

Both of us groaned in annoyance and Jaejoong pouted adorably while whining, “But we did the cake! Do you know how much effort it took to make it so beautiful? Besides, we’re busy.”

He then leaned down to kiss me again, but not before I caught a glimpse of Yunho standing stiffly at the doorway looking like he’d just witnessed his parents going at it. I couldn’t help but giggle a little at that, and started full out laughing when Changmin, being Changmin, reached over and pushed Jaejoong so hard he fell to the floor.

After a couple of hours, when we were done with the cake and Yoochun and Yunho were pretty much wasted, we were sitting in a circle playing random games and I couldn’t help but wish that everything would stay this way forever. I rested my head on Jaejoong’s shoulder and he wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer. He smiled down at me before placing a chaste kiss on my forehead.

Of course, the whole Minhwan/photo thing wasn’t over yet, but this most recent piece of news would definitely distract everyone from that. Also, now that Jaejoong knew, I felt like a burden had been lifted off of my shoulders.

Right here, right now, this was happiness.
