Chapter two: this is it.

-the next day-

Minho’s POV

“Minho, Minho, Minho, Minho, Minho!!! WAKE UP!” A voice shouted at me. I whined and ignored the person. “Its 6:30AM! If we don’t get to the SM building in time, we’ll get in heaps of trouble” The person said. “Who is it anyway?” I murmured. “Its Kibum! Now, WAKE UP! Its your first day! Come on!” He yelled. First day..? OH! my first official day of being a trainee! I CANT be LATE for that! I quickly opened my eyes and looked at Kibum, he was staring at me. “What time do we have to get on the bus by?” I asked. “6:45, you have 15 minutes to get ready, hurry up!” He said. I quickly cleaned up and grabbed my training gear and dumped them in a bag. Minutes had passed and I was ready. “Lets go!” Kibum said. I followed him to the bus stop and the bus came right away. We both got in and went to the back seats. “So tell me about some trainees I should be aware of.” I said. Kibum took a deep sigh. “Well. Everyone works really hard and I’ll introduce you to my friends today. Anyways, theyre all nice.. I guess. I hope youre in my training room, actually you get to choose. You should train with me and the others. “I want to bring my friend Jinki hyung with me too.” I requested. “Sure.” Kibum agreed. “Do you know Yuri noona?” I asked Kibum. For some reason, I wanted to know more about her, she had the same personality as my bestfriend Yuri – bright and cheerful. “Oh, Yuri noona? Well, shes one of the long time trainees in SM, shes really nice and heaps popular around the trainees and some debuted seniors. So many people have asked her out, including one of my friends but they all got rejected. Some people think that she has a secret boyfriend or something.” Kibum explained. “What about you? Have you asked her out? Or do you have a girlfriend.”I asked curiously. Kibum laughed. “Yuri noona is a sister to me, nothing else. And no I don’t have a girlfriend. We’re actually not supposed to have relationships but some secretly do..” he replied. I just nodded. The bus ride went for about 10 minutes and we finally arrived at the SM building. “I’ll meet you at dance room no.10, good luck!” Kibum yelled and ran to his dance room while I waited with the other trainees. “Minho!” Someone shouted. I turned around and saw Jinki. “Hey Jinki hyung!” I greeted nicely. He came to stand next to me. “Met any other senior trainees yet?” He asked. “Actually, I met one, his name is Kim Kibum. Same age as me. He suggested that we should go practice with him and his friends.” I explained. Jinki nodded. “Sure, I would love to!” Jinki accepted happily. I just smiled.

20 minutes later…

Yuri’s POV

“Can we go from the top again?” Kibum asked all of us. He was so neat and accurate. I the music, from the top and all of us started our dance again. During the most important part, a knock on the door was made and this stopped our dancing. It was the new trainees. There were only two, obviously the new trainees decided not to train with the senior trainees but at least two people were confident enough to train with us. I realised that one of them was Minho. And Jinki was the other. “Welcome guys!” Kibum cheered and ran up to them. “How does Kibum know them?!” Taeyeon whispered to me. “I have no idea.” I whispered back. “You must be Jinki! Im Kim Kibum!” Kibum shook Jinki’s hand. “These are the other trainees in this room.” Kibum introduced us. “Kibum how do you even know them?” I asked. Minho stared at me. “I met Minho last night, we live in the same motel and we go back to our actual homes on weekdays.” Kibum explained. Everyone gathered in a circle and introduced themselves. “We’ve already met but if you’ve forgotten, Im Yuri.” I spoke. Jinki and Minho just nodded. Taeyeon, Sooyeon, Sooyoung and Jonghyun also introduced themselves. “I have another trainee friend, Taemin but he trains with other people.” Kibum explained to Minho and Jinki. “Its nice to meet you all.” Jinki smiled. “Lets take a break guys.” Sooyoung suggested. Everyone nodded and we all sat down in a circle. Minho and Jinki didn’t know what to do until Kibum grabbed their arms and made them sat down. I couldn’t help but stare at Minho. He looks so familiar… “So how old are you both?” Jonghyun asked Minho and Jinki. “Im 18.” Jinki replied. “YAY! Same age as me! And Taeyeon and Yuri!” Sooyeon said excitedly. Jonghyun gave her a glare so she stopped immediately. Jonghyun always had a thing for Sooyeon, I didn’t know what it was but I think he possibly likes her! “Im 16.” Minho said. “Me and Minho are the youngest here.” Kibum declared. I remember how my bestfriend was 2 years younger than me… “By the way, you’ll see the debuted seniors around here, like BoA unnie, Super Junior oppas, TVXQ oppas..” Sooyoung said. Minho and Jinki just nodded. “Lets get to practice guys!” I suggested after the 5 minute break. The music was played and we had to teach Jinki and Minho some dance moves. Sooyeon and Taeyeon were trying to help Jinki but Jonghyun was disturbing them, maybe from jealousy..? Sooyoung and Kibum were teaching Minho and I was just standing there, looking at myself through the mirror. “URGH, Yuri noona can you just teach Minho?! He’s quite hard for me and Sooyoung noona to handle.” Kibum asked as he walked up to me. Minho stared at me, without any expressions. “Sure..” I accepted and went over to Minho. I showed him the moves, step by step and told him to copy it and he easily got it. “Thanks Yuri noona.” Minho smiled and I smiled back. “Guys lets go from the top! Up to where Minho and Jinki learnt.” Taeyeon ordered. I quickly moved away from Minho and made my way near the centre. The music started and everyone was concentrated on the hard dance moves. I was swapping positions with Minho, he was slowly moving to the left side while I went to the right. My foot was a little bit twisted and suddenly I felt something stepping on it. Minho was stepping on my twisted ankle/foot. “Ouch!” I yelled and everyone stopped dancing. I fell over and hurt myself. I could see everyone come over to me, asking me if I was okay. Minho looked shocked. “Im so sorry Yuri noona.” He apologised. “Its alright.” I said and sat up. “You guys keep going, I might just sit down for a bit.” I said. “Are you sure you don’t need to go get a bandage?” Sooyeon asked. “I’ll just go at everyone’s break time.” I replied. “I’ll accompany you, its my fault that youre in this state.” Minho spoke. “Thanks Minho.” I said as a slightly blushed. For the next 20 minutes, I watched everyone dance. My foot was aching a lot, it was hurting so badly but I resisted from the pain…

Its break time, everyone is somewhere around the SM building. “Ill show Jinki our other friends.” Kibum said. I just nodded. Minho started walking up to me. “Yuri noona, Let me accompany you to the sick room.” Minho said. “No Minho Im fine, I don’t want to go.” I replied. “No, your foot seems badly injured, and its my fault.” Minho confronted. I didn’t have anything to say. “Its alright, I can get the first aid kit.” I said. “First aid kit? Ill get it for you, where is it?” He asked. “You don’t hav--- my sentence got cut off. “I want to, so where is it?” He asked again. I pointed at the small drawers that were next to the couch. He nodded and went to go and get the first aid kit. When he came back, he sat on the floor, like me and opened the kit. “I can do it myself.” I said. “Ill do it, trust me, im not bad at this stuff.” He smiled. It melted me, his smile. It reminds me of that guy bestfriend’s smile.. He slowly wrapped a bandage around my ankle and foot, slowly but tightly. I couldn’t help but stare at his handsome face. His long eyelashes, thick eyebrows, big eyes. He was just, perfect. “Here, its done.” He said and looked up, I quickly turned away to pretend that I wasn’t staring at him. “Thanks Minho.” I thanked him. “Are you going to go outside?” Minho asked. “Yeah, I just want to get a drink.” I murmured. I made an attempt to try and stand up and it worked! But I couldn’t walk very well. “Here, just grab onto my shoulder.” He suggested. I blushed and slowly put my hand on his shoulder for more support. His shoulder, is so wide and muscular… We went out of the dance rooms and I told him which way we should be going. On the way, everyone was staring at me. “Who is that guy? OMG Is he the secret boyfriend?” Other trainees whispered. Minho ignored it all and kept on walking. All of a sudden, some guy came up to us and punched Minho in the face. Minho immediately fell to the ground. “OHMYGOD” I yelled. “You stay away from her.” The boy said. “YOU STAY AWAY FROM ME, He was helping me!” I yelled at the boy. He just looked at me and walked away. Minho slowly managed to get up. “Are you alright? Im so sorry, where did he punch you?!” I asked with shock.

Minho’s POV

“Are you alright? Im so sorry, where did he punch you?!” Yuri noona asked with anxiety. “Im fine.” I replied. Wow, Yuri noona must be very popular around the trainees. My first day here and I just got punch in the face…  Luckily there was no damage done but Yuri was still looking to see if I got any scratches. “Im fine, really.” I said. Soon, all the other trainees walked away and Yuri noona and I were left alone. “Im so sorry.” She apologised, again. “Do you know who he is?” I asked. She nodded. “This guy who asked me out a couple of years ago, but I rejected him and for the past two years, he’s been punching all the guys Ive been hanging around with.. Even Kibum, Jonghyun and Taemin, but he’s used to them now, they can fight back to him themselves.” She explained. I just nodded. “Do you want to just go back to the dance rooms? Ill show you the others tomorrow.” Yuri suggested. “Sure.”I agreed and helped Yuri noona walk back to the dance room. We entered the silent place and sat down on the ground, and leaned on the wall. “So have you always been practicing here?” I began a conversation. She looked around the dance room. “Every single day for the past few years Ive stepped into this dance room, the exact one. This is the place I spent so much of my life with.” Yuri noona began talking. “Did you pass all the tests? Did any other trainees get fired? You know..” I tried to ask with explanation. “Yeah, heaps. Me, Sooyoung and Sooyeon were one of the earliest trainees here, we’ve managed to be here for a very long time. Each week we have tests, like a talent show and every 3 weeks, 2 trainees gets chosen to be dropped out.” Yuri said. “When are the tests?” I asked. “Well, its still a few days away and if you show them what you’ve been learning this week, you’ll definitely pass since its your first week here.” Yuri smiled. I feeling a relief came to me. I smiled back.  “Also, you have to go to rap/sing and dance classes at SM academy. I go to the rap, sing and dance. Usually you choose from rap or sing but SM allowed me to do both. Lessons are free but they get really boring.. Worse than school at times. We have them 4 times a week so after training today I have to go to a late lesson.. You’ll be starting probably on Thursday.” Yuri explained. I just nodded. –ding- the bell went. “Practice time, lets stretch!” Yuri spoke. “Are you sure you can dance with your sore foot?” I asked. She smiled. “I just have to get over it.” She replied and started stretching…
