Chapter two:

IU POV:

I had no idea why I agreed to let him live with me.

I mean, I barely even knew the guy, how could I live with him.

But I couldn’t help it.

I knew the feeling of having nowhere to go.

I could understand the fear of being alone, and having to one to depend on.

Because I had been there once

As soon as I said that, both the young man and the nurse looked up at me, surprised.

“But miss,” the nurse said, “you don’t even know him, and you aren’t related to him, are you sure about this?”

I nodded firmly.

I couldn’t bring myself to leave him alone.

“Don’t worry,” I said. “Although my place is pretty small, I’m sure we both could live in it comfortably. Anyway, I live alone. I’m sure I wouldn’t mind company!”

“Are you sure?” The nurse asked me.

“Yes, definitely”

“Okay then, he can stay here for the night, and you can pick him up tomorrow morning.” The nurse then turned to the young man. “Sir, you’re really lucky. Even I wouldn’t do such a kind deed.”

She left the room, leaving the two of us alone.

The guy was obviously still shocked.

“But..but…you don’t even know me…would you really take me in?”

I smiled at him. “Yes, but don’t worry, it’s definitely not out of pity. You’ll need to help me work too! I’m just providing shelter for you!”

He smiled back. “Thank you so much, Ji Eun! And rest assured I will do my best to help you earn money, until I regain my memory back!” He suddenly gave me a hug, his eyes full of tears of gratitude. “And when I do, I’ll promise to repay your kindness!”

“Relax,” I laughed. “It’s getting late. You should go to sleep! I better rush back home to tidy things up! See you tomorrow!”

I was just about to leave the room when he asked, in a quiet voice, “Could you…stay with me for the night?”

“What?”

“Could you accompany me for the night? Right now, I can only depend on you…so…I’d feel much less alone and insecure if you could spend the night with me…please?”

He looked so afraid of loneliness, like a little boy who was begging his mother to sleep with him.

How could I say no to that?

“Sure,” I said as I walked over to his bed and sat beside him, his head. “Now go to sleep.”

“Do you promise to be there when I wake up?” He glanced at me hopefully.

“Promise”

He immediately went to sleep happily, a contented smile on his face. I hadn’t noticed before, but he looked unbelievably adorable when he smiled.

This guy, he reminded me of a little child. And I was determined to protect this little child.

“Good night,” I said as I gave him a kiss on the forehead.

Yoseob POV:

I woke up, yawning.

Where was I?

Oh, I remembered now.

I immediately looked around the room. Ji Eun was sleeping beside me, her head rested at the side of my bed.

She looked so innocent and adorable, especially when she was sleeping. I gently nudged her.

“Hmm?” She yawned.
"Good morning, Ji Eun~” I sang cheerily.

She giggled. “Good morning!”

She stood up. “Omo! You must be hungry! I almost forgot!”

Now that she mentioned it, I was starving. I didn’t remember when was the last time I ate, but my stomach was growling uncontrollably.

“I’m a little hungry, “ I admitted.

She quickly brushed her hair and braided it before running out to call the nurse for breakfast. She didn’t even change from her PJs yet. Aish, this girl.

Soon, she came in with the nurse, who was carrying a bowl of delicious-smelling porridge.

My stomach growled again.

“Take your time to have breakfast,” she smiled. “You can be discharged about an hour later or so.” Then she left the room.

Ji Eun scooped some of the porridge into a small bowl and sat at the edge of the bed.

“Open wide!” She laughed as she fed me a mouthful of porridge.

This girl, she was treating me like a baby.

Not that I minded.

She was just like a mom. A warm, caring, loving mom.

“Ahh…” she said as she fed me another mouthful of porridge.

I pouted. “Stop treating me like a baby!” I whined.

“Then stop acting like one!” She rolled her eyes playfully. “Look, you can’t even eat porridge properly without getting it all over your mouth! Aishh…” She then used a towel to gently wipe the porridge off my mouth.

I pouted. But I was beaming inside.

IU POV:

After breakfast, we were ready to leave the hospital.

After spending the night with him, I felt this…connection, like I really wanted to take care of him.

I helped him out of bed gently, and after saying goodbye to the helpful nurse and paying the hospital fees, we took a cab back to my place. He was still pretty tired so he fell asleep on my shoulder. I couldn’t help smiling. Awwww….

Finally, we arrived. I gently nudged him.

“Hmm?”

“We’re here,”

We got off the cab and headed entered my house.

As I opened the door, I got a bit embarrassed. My house was extremely small, and there was only a tiny kitchen, a bathroom and a living room where I slept.

“Here we are, I’m really sorry it’s so tiny…I guess we’ll have to squeeze…” I said sheepishly.

He didn’t seem to mind. He was happily looking around the house in awe.

“I like it!” He smiled. “It’s so cozy! But…where will I sleep?”

Oh. I forgot about that problem. I only had one mattress.

Ah…well. He was a patient. There was no way I was going to make him sleep on the floor.

“The mattress of course!”

“Then…where will you sleep?” He asked me curiously.

“Umm…the floor?”

His eyes widened. “No way! You already let me live with you, how could you give your mattress to me?”

I sighed. He was so stubborn.

“It’s fine! I’m used to sleeping on the floor, silly!”

“No.” He pouted. “Or I’ll leave!”

“No! Aishh…you win…you’re so stubborn!”

“No, you are!” He said, sticking out his tongue at me. AWWWWWWWW…

“Anyway,” I said, giggling at his adorable-ness. “Since I don’t know your name, and obviously I can’t just keep calling you ‘guy’, would you like a pretend-name for now?”

He nodded excitedly.

“Hmmm…”

What should I call him? He was so adorable, and he really reminded me of…him…

He was also extremely stubborn.

But irresistably adorable.

“I think I’ll call you…KiKwang!”
