Chapter eighteen:

IU’s POV:

Yoseob carried me back to my house, where he laid me down on the mattress.

“Do you have a first aid kit?” He asked me.

I nodded. “It’s at the top of the refrigerator.”

He went into the kitchen, and came back with the first aid kit.

“Show me your bruises” He commanded me, in an adorable but stern way.

I reluctantly showed him the back of my head. I didn’t want him to have to worry.

He gasped.

“There’s a huge wound at the back of your head!” He cried. “What did he do to you?”

He looked furious, it was actually kind of funny.

“It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt much.” I shrugged. That was a huge lie, but I didn’t want him to worry too much about me.

He gently touched it wound. It stung so badly. It felt like there were needles pricking through my head.

I couldn’t help but whimper in pain.

“Yah! And you still say it doesn’t hurt much?” He scolded me. “Now, I’ll apply some cream onto that area, okay? It’ll hurt, but bear with it, okay?”

I nodded. He then gently applied some cream onto the wound.

Honestly, I didn’t feel that much pain. Yoseob was really gentle, and was extremely careful. I could tell he was trying as hard as he could not to hurt me.

Which was really sweet.

“Aigoo! Look at your neck! It’s all red. There’s even scratches! That man! How could he strangle you? If I get my hands on him…” Yoseob’s face turned red. It was so adorable how his face turned red whenever he got agitated.

After he was done applying cream on my wounds, he walked towards the kitchen.

“You must be hungry! Let me make something for you!”

He opened the refrigerator. “Yah, Lee Ji Eun! Must you make me scold you all the time?” He sighed, exasperated. “There’s nothing in here! Why don’t you take good care of yourself? You’re wasting away to nothing!”

I rolled my eyes playfully. “You’re so naggy! Stop telling me what to do!”

“I’m serious!” He whined. “I’m not naggy! I’m just concerned about your health!”
I got up and wrapped my arms around his waist, resting my head on his back.

“I know, Yoseob oppa, you’re the best” I said softly.

Yoseob turned around, a serious expression on his face.

“I love you, Ji Eun.”

“I know, I love you too.”

“No, I mean, I love you Ji Eun, will you…marry me?”

Yoseob’s POV:

I can’t believe it.

I popped the question to her.

I didn’t know why I did that, I just felt that it was the perfect time to propose.

And I meant it. I never wanted her to have any chance to leave me. Ever again.

Marrying her was the best way to ensure we were together, forever.

I didn’t care if my parents didn’t approve. They can disown me for all they like. I’d much rather live with Ji Eun, anyway.

I didn’t care if Lucica’s father made our company go bankrupt. Let him. Money wasn’t important, anyway. I could sell kimchi fried rice with Ji Eun every day and not get tired at all.

I didn’t care about ANYTHING.

I just wanted to be with her, forever.

I looked at her, afraid to see her reaction.

She had a poker face.

Uh-oh.

She sighed.

This was not good.

Yah! You idiot! Why did you ask her that question? Don’t you know it’s way too early? What if she rejects me and things get really awkward between us? Arghh…why are you so rash, Yoseob?

“Yoseob…” she began. “I love you, but…”

This is it. She’s gonna reject me.

“But…” she smiled cheekily.

“You didn’t propose properly!” She whined. “I want you to kneel down, just like in the movies! I want you to say those bunch of cheesy lines a guy says to a girl when he proposes to her! I want it! It’s not romantic if you just ask me like that!” She stomped her foot.

I heaved a huge sigh of relief.

“Yah, you!” I pretended to be angry. “Did you know how scared I was that you would reject me? Huh? How could you play with my feelings like that! I don’t think I can marry someone who’s so insensitive!”

Her face immediately fell. “I’m sorry, Yoseob oppa!” She quickly gave me a hug. “I was just playing with you.” She used her aegyo to say this. She knew I couldn’t resist it.

I took this chance to pounce on her and tickle her nonstop. “This is what you get for bullying me!”

“St-stop it!” She gasped. “I-it tickles so ba-badly!”

“Not unless you agree to marry me~” I sang.

“I-I’ve never heard of a m-man f-forcing a girl to m-marry him before!” Ji Eun complained, trying to push me off. “G-go away!”

“Say you’ll marry me!” I grinned.

“No!” Ji Eun cried, laughing so hard that tears was streaming out of her eyes.

“Say it!”

“A-aishh…you w-win!” I stopped tickling her. “Of course I’ll marry you! There’s no one else I’d rather spend the rest of my life with.” She pushed me off her and gently cuddled in my arms.

I cuddled her back, keeping her safe in my arms.

That’s exactly where I want her to be.

Forever.

“Yoseob oppa?” Ji Eun suddenly said softly.

“Can  I kiss you? I really missed it…” She said, obviously embarrassed.

I shook my head.
“Why not?” She whined.

“Because it’s my job.” And then I gave her a soft kiss on her pale lips.

All my emotions came flooding back.

Oh, how I missed those lips

How I missed this girl

“Good night, hubby.” Ji Eun giggled as she said this, right after our kiss.

“Good night, wifey.” I cuddled her even tighter and closed my eyes.

In a few minutes, Ji Eun was fast asleep, snoring lightly.

She was so tired. This girl…

I gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead before falling asleep as well.
