Why can't you remember me?

Memories

Hey guys! I'll be doing a DOUBLE UPDATE today :D (but not right after each other, I still want some suspense xD)

Thank FANYLOVESPINK for requesting for this double update (: (I'm a SONE too! Should I do my next fanfic on SNSD? kekeke)

Anyway, hope you enjoy (:

-----------------------------------

Chapter eleven:

Yoseob’s POV:

Oh great. I was having so much fun with Ji Eun.

So far, the day had been amazing. It was amazing spending time with her.

She was adorable, sweet and a really good listener. When I was around her, I didn’t feel that I needed to pretend at all. I could be Yang Yoseob, the person, instead of the successor. I told her things I never told anyone before. She listened to me intently.

Then Lucica came in.

Oh great.

“Yah! You! What are you doing to my Yoseob oppa?” She said in her disgusting voice. It was different when Ji Eun called me oppa. When she called me oppa, I thought it was adorable. When Lucica called me oppa, I felt like throwing up.

Ji Eun frowned. “Who are you?”

Lucica wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a quick kiss.

“I’m his fiancé, Lucica, heiress of the Sung Eun Food Industries, ten-time winner of the Miss Korea pageant, award winning ….”

Lucica’s endless bragging was interrupted by Ji Eun’s giggles. She was obviously struggling not to laugh, as Lucica was exactly how I described her to be.

I couldn’t help but smile back at her, in the I-told-you-so kind of way.

“What’s so funny?” Lucica frowned.

“I’m sorry,” Ji Eun giggled. “Ignore me, I’m just being silly!”

“Apparently,” Lucica rolled her eyes. She turned to me.

“Yoseob oppa, who is she? Why are you spending time with HER?” She made Ji Eun sound like an inferior person. “I mean, she’s not exactly a looker, and from the looks of her rags, she’s obviously not very rich either. And that hair! Ughh!” Lucica shivered, looking disgusted.

That girl was totally disgusting.

And in my opinion, Ji Eun looked much better than HER.

Ji Eun looked so insulted. Lucica looked so smug. I couldn’t help it. I wanted to get one back for Ji Eun. So I grabbed Ji Eun’s waist and smiled at her.

“Oh, her? She’s the love of my life.” I pulled her out of bed. Lucica looked stunned. So did Ji Eun. “Come on, Ji Eun-sshi, let’s go for our date.” With my hand still firmly around her waist, I walked her out of the room, not even looking back once. I could almost imagine Lucica’s expression.

Ha! Take that.

As soon as we were out of the house, Ji Eun hit me.

“Yah, you! Why did you tell your fiancé that I was the “love of your life”? And who uses that expression nowadays? It’s so…cheesy!” She shuddered.

“I couldn’t stand it. I needed an excuse to get away from her!” I saw her face drop slightly.

“And…I wanted to spend time with you…” I added softly, not sure how she would take it.

Apparently, she wasn’t very good at hiding her expressions. Her face brightened immediately.

I liked how she was so easy to read.

“Anyway,” I said, trying to clear the awkwardness of my confession. “Where do you want to go?”

Her eyes widened. “No! It’s okay! You can just send me home! After all, I’m not really going on a with you…am I?”

She said the last two words like a little child, with a hopeful look in her eyes.

I chuckled. “Come on, let’s go somewhere to have fun! You look like you desperately need it!”

Her eyes narrowed. “Are you saying that I look boring?”

“Maybe?” I replied in a sing-song manner, and the result was another smack on the arm from her.

“Umm…I guess a day out wouldn’t be too bad…” She was trying not to sound too enthusiastic. “How about the park? We could go on a picnic there again!”

“Again?”

“Did I say again? Oh whoops! It slipped out!” She laughed nervously. “Anyway, let’s go to my house to prepare for the picnic!” She frantically gave me directions to her house.

It almost seemed like she was hiding something.

Strange…

IU’s POV:

“Here we are” I motioned to Yoseob.

I didn’t know why I suggested to go to that same park again for our date.

I wanted to forget him, and bringing him there would just bring back all of our memories.

But I just wanted to.

I guess I was still foolishly hoping.

Hoping that miraculously, he would remember everything

Who am I kidding?

I led Yoseob up to my house.

“Here it is” I opened the door, embarrassed again at the size of my house.

This felt so familiar, like I was introducing him to my house all over again.

Please remember something!

Unfortunately, he didn’t do anything. He just walked in.

“It’s so cozy in here!” He smiled, just like how he did a month ago, when I first brought him to my house.

Haishh…I felt sad again.

“What’s wrong?” He asked me, concerned. Obviously I had to learn how to hide my emotions better.

“Nothing!” I smiled brightly. “Let’s start then!”

We went down to the grocery store to buy the ingredients for our picnic.

I knew exactly what to make.

Hopefully, it could jolt his memory a little.

When we got back, I immediately started work.

In a bento box, I put sticky rice in a shape of a square. I put seaweed neatly on the top of the rice, resembling his mushroom hair. I put egg rolls to represent his huge eyes and kimchi to represent his smile, just like he did before.

I passed the bento box to him shyly, and I didn’t know what to expect.

He stared at the bento box for a long time, and it obviously triggered some parts of his brain.

“Do I really look like that?” He asked me playfully.

Bummer…I was so sure he was going to remember me.

Oh well. I tried.

Anyway, after preparing all the food, (I made sure to prepare everything we had prepared the last time we went on a picnic, hoping he could remember something. No such luck) we headed to the park.

As we walked in, Yoseob wrinkled his nose.

“This place…have I been here before?”

YES, YES, YES YOU HAVE! I screamed silently. WITH ME, JI EUN, YOUR GIRLFRIEND! REMEMBER NOW?

Instead, I shrugged.

“Oh well, probably just my imagination.” Yoseob shrugged too and helped me lay down the picnic mat.

Bummer…so close!

But maybe…

I started rolling up and down the grassy hill, the same one where Yoseob had rolled on.

He looked at me intensely, as if he was trying to remember something.

Yes, yes, yes! Go on! I urged him.

Instead, he burst out laughing. “You’re so silly, Ji Eun!”

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

In fact, I was so preoccupied with rolling up and down the hill…

“Ji Eun!” Yoseob yelled suddenly.

I realized I was rolling towards the edge of the hill at full speed.

I braced myself for the impact.

----------------------------

Oh no! Ji Eun!

What will happen to her?

Will Yoseob still save her even if he doesn't remember her?

Damn there's no suspense here since I'm going to post the next chapter soon D:

Oh well.
