Chapter seventeen:

Yoseob’s POV:

I got off the train.

Finally, after 5 hours, I could see Ji Eun again!
There was so many things I wanted to do.

I wanted to scold her for leaving me

I wanted to apologize for the harsh words I had said

I wanted to give her a big hug

I wanted to tell her how much I missed her

I wanted to give her a long kiss

I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

The question is, where is she?

My first bet was the food street. Although it was 10pm already, it was a good place to start. Maybe I could look around that area and find out where she was living.

Just like I expected, when I arrived at the food street, there was no one there.

It was extremely quiet.

I was about to look around the area to find possible places where Ji Eun might be living when I heard a scream coming from the alley behind.

Wait a minute.

That scream sounded familiar.

Way too familiar…

Oh my gosh.

My first instinct was to sprint to that back alley.

I’m positive it was Ji Eun who screamed.

Was she in trouble? What happened?

Oh my gosh, please let her be okay.

I couldn’t forgive myself if something had happened to her.

When I arrived at the alley, I saw a man on top of a girl. The girl was struggling weakly, but he wouldn’t get off her.

Wait.

That petite frame…

That hair…

Oh my gosh.

JI EUN!

Who was that man?

What did he do to her?

I didn’t even try to think of answers. All I knew was that Ji Eun was in trouble, and I had to save her.

So I sprinted towards that man, pulled him off Ji Eun, and gave him a huge punch on the face. As I pulled him off, I noticed that Ji Eun’s head was bleeding! She was in pain.

I was furious.

What the hell did he do to her?

I gave him another hard punch, and some kicks in the stomach.

“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?” I roared.

The man was terrified. “No-nothing…”

I gave him one more punch, just for Ji Eun.

“Get lost.” I scowled. “Don’t let me see you again.”

The man immediately ran away.

I bent down to face Ji Eun. Blood was trickling down from the back of her head.

She was in such pain, I could see tears at the corner of her eyes.

“Ji Eun…” I touched her gently.

“Stay away! Don’t touch me!” She screamed, bursting into tears.

It hurt me so much to see her like this.

This was all my fault.

I gave her a hug, reassuring her.

“Ji Eun,” I whispered, lightly touching her forehead. “It’s me, Yoseob. I won’t hurt you…”

Yeah right. I hurt her so badly already.

“Y…Yoseob?” Ji Eun murmured.

“Ne, Yoseob.” I squeezed her hand.

“Yoseob?” Her eyes flew open. She sat up, shocked.

“It’s…It’s really you?” She winced in pain and lay back down again.

“Easy,” I supported her head and laid it onto the floor gently, careful not to hurt her.

I gave her a piggyback ride again and started walking out of the dark alley. She felt even lighter now. She lost weight. Apparently, she hadn’t been eating much.

“Shouldn’t you be in Seoul? You’re getting married tomorrow…” Ji Eun said softly, resting her chin onto my shoulder.

Aishh…this idiot. She was still thinking for me and my future.

“Pabo,” I scolded her.

“Huh?”

“If I wanted to marry Lucica, would I be here?” I asked her softly.

“But…but…”

“But what? You’re afraid that Lucica’s father may shut our company down? Make us go bankrupt? Is that what?”

I could feel her nodding sheepishly.

I sighed. Even when she was like this, she was still thinking for others.

“That’s why I called you a pabo! Don’t you see? How could you leave me just to prevent Lucica’s father from destroying us?”
“But…I don’t want to ruin your life…”

I sighed again. “My life was ruined ever since you left me that day. Don’t you know that I can’t live without you?”

“But…you’d go bankrupt…I didn’t want to…”

“Aishh…you silly girl! I couldn’t care less whether I go bankrupt or not. I couldn’t care less whether I was rich or not. Remember when you took me in? We were poor, but we were so happy! “

“The truth is, even if I had all the money in the world, but you weren’t by my side, I still wouldn’t be happy. But even if I go bankrupt, I’d still be happy, as long as I’m with you.” I confessed softly.

“Since when did you become so cheesy?” She teased me.

“Yah! I’m trying to be serious here!”

“In that case,” she leaned towards my ear and whispered. “I promise not to leave you again.”

Then she gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Promise?”

“Promise”

“Then you’re forgiven” I smiled. “But you need to forgive me too.”

“For?”

“For saying those words to you that day. I’m sorry, I thought you didn’t want me anymore. So…I got a little mad.” I admitted. “I’m sorry.”

“Hmmm…” She pretended to think about it.

“Hey!” I jerked her lightly. “I already forgave YOU! Now you have to forgive me!”
She laughed. “Okay. I forgive you too, Yoseob oppa.”

“Let’s make a promise never to leave each other ever again, okay?”

“I promise,” She smiled and wrapped her arms even more tightly around my neck.
