Chapter twenty-three:

Yoseob’s POV:

“Ji Eun! Ji Eun!”

I was nudging Ji Eun the millionth time, hoping that she would miraculously wake up.

I was desperate now, begging her to wake up. But she remained still.

Thank goodness she was still breathing.

“Ji Eun ah!” I was crying now, shaking her as hard as I could. “Wake up! Wake up! We only have a few more hours to live, and you choose to ignore me? Wake up! I’m begging you!” I buried my face into her hair, sobbing uncontrollably.

Suddenly, I felt a weak, cold hand pat my back.

I immediately sat up.

“Ji Eun?” I looked at her, not sure what to expect.

“Y…Yoseob…” She murmured, opening her eyes slowly.

“Ji Eun! You’re awake!” I gave her a hug, causing her to wince.

“I’m sorry, are you okay?” I broke off the hug and proceeded to check her head for wounds.

“I’m fine…” she protested, but not before I saw a huge wound in back of her head, where blood was oozing out from.

“What do you mean “you’re fine”? Look what happened to you!” I gently massaged her head. “You pabo! Why did you do that? Why did you take the blow for me?”

“You’re the pabo!” She scolded me back. “Why did you come? I told you not to! I told you it was a trap! Why? You got beat up so badly, it’s nothing compared to my wound. If I hadn’t taken the blow for you, you’d be dead by now!”

“Didn’t you hear what they said? If I didn’t come, they’d…” I couldn’t even bear to think.

“But only I would have died! You could have saved yourself! Now you’re going to die as well!”

I glared at her.
“Do you really think I’d want to continue living if you were gone? Do you really think I could just forget all about you, and go on to marry LUCICA? And who says we’re going to die? We’ll find a way out of here, I promise. You’re too young, and too kind to die. Heaven has eyes. I promise I’ll get us out of here. And even if I don’t, at least we’ll die together.”

She smiled weakly. “I would already be extremely blessed if I could spend the last seconds of my life with you, Yoseob.”

“Me too,” I cradled her in my arms.

“Ji Eun?” I asked her suddenly.

“Yes?”

“In our next lives, will you still agree to marry me?”

She nodded, smiling.

“Good. Now, let’s enjoy our last night together.” I let her rest her head onto my chest and cuddled her. “Goodnight, Ji Eun.”

“Goodnight, Yoseob.” She snuggled in my chest, just like how she did last time.

IU’s POV:

I felt a strong hand drag me roughly up.

I opened my eyes.

The men were back again. They were grinning.

“Let go of her!” Yoseob was glaring at the man. He was being held down by two men, struggling to help me.

“Let’s see…who should I kill first?” Mr. Lee smirked.

“Kill me first!” We both shouted at the same time.

“Mr. Lee, I beg you. Let Ji Eun off. Please. She didn’t do anything wrong. It’s me you’re after.” Yoseob was begging Mr. Lee.

He merely snorted in reply.

This was not going anywhere.

I could hear noises outside the warehouse.

What if…

A gunshot should do it.

“Fine. Shoot me first then.” I took a deep breath and said bravely. This was the only chance we had now.

“JI EUN! NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” Yoseob shouted and tried to run towards me, only to get held back by two men. “JI EUN!”

Mr. Lee smirked.

“As you wish.” He aimed his gun towards me. “Yang Yoseob, prepare to see your fiancé die right in front of your very eyes. But don’t worry, you’ll be joining her soon. In hell, where you belong! Any last words, cutie?”

“Mr. Lee, don’t!” Yoseob begged desperately.

I took a deep breath and shrieked my lungs out.

“HELP!” I screamed. “MURDER!”

This seemed to startle Mr. Lee. He accidently fired a bullet, missing me by an inch.

The gunshot was extremely loud. I could hear the noises at the door getting louder. There were people trying to break the door down.

Perfect.

Mr. Lee didn’t know what to do.

He looked around.

There was nowhere to run.

He was a finished man.

The door finally broke down, and a whole mass of people came rushing in, along with the police.  They quickly arrested Mr. Lee and his gang of men.

I smiled. I could finally rest.

Then I out.

Yoseob’s POV:

The police were dragging Mr. Lee and his gang of men out of the door when I saw Ji Eun collapse onto the floor, with a soft ‘thud’.

“Ji Eun!” I immediately rushed to her side. She was unconscious.

I gave her a tight hug.

“It’s okay,” I whispered, tears flowing down my cheeks uncontrollably. “It’s all over. We’re safe now. I’ll never let something like this happen to you. Ever.”

Although I was weak, I managed to gently lift Ji Eun off the ground, cradling her in my arms.

The police offered to help carry her, but I refused to let go of her.

I would never let her leave my sight. Ever again.

And so we got into the ambulance and it sent us to the hospital.

Sorry for not updating in awhile :/ was pretty busy :/

Okay I'm really sorry for this y chapter. I guess I'm not good with these sort of scenes. I'm better at writing the fluffy, adorable parts HAHA (:

And thank goodness I was in a good mood when I wrote this (: so no one got severely injured/ had to die

I promise i'll make a nice, sweet ending (:
