Chapter one:

Yoseob POV:

I hate my parents.

Honestly, I hate them.

I mean, its bad enough that they never have time for me, and they just buy stuff to “please” me.

Now they want to control the rest of my life and expect me just take it quietly?

They’re making me marry some daughter of this huge company so that our company could work together with their company and make more money in the future.

Yes, that’s right. My parents are selling me off.

For money.

They don’t even care about my feelings.

I mean, have they ever asked me about how I felt?

Do they actually think I would want to marry a girl I had never even met in my life before?

They think money is everything. I really hate them.

So now, I’m on my way to meet my fiance.

Great.

I hate my life.

I was walking towards an expensive, high-class restaurant where I was supposed to meet my future wife for dinner when suddenly, my foot slipped.

Everything went black.

IU POV:

Ughhh…another tiring day at work.

But I managed to sell so many bowls of kimchi fried rice today, so it was all worth it!

Good job, Lee Ji Eun! You can reward yourself with meat today!

I was strolling back home, still happy with my success at work today, when I saw a young man sprawled on the floor, unconscious, blood oozing out of his head.

OMO!

Lee Ji Eun…calm down!

How can I calm down? He’s lost so much blood! If I don’t get him to a hospital asap, he’d probably die!

Immediately, I dialled the amubulance. The ambulance arrived in no time and I followed the unconscious young man to the hospital.

Yoseob POV:

Ughh…my head.

It hurt so badly.

Slowly, I opened my eyes.

Wait. Where was I?

What happened.

WAITWAITWAIT.

WHO AM I?

Suddenly, a nurse came into my room.
“Oh good! You’re awake!” She smiled. “Miss, he’s awake now!”

A petite girl entered my room. She was adorable, with fair skin and messy brown hair tied in a short ponytail. Her cheeks were rosy.

“Who is she?” I asked, confused. I did not recognize this girl.

“This is the young lady who saved your life!” The nurse replied.

“Saved my life? Wait, what happened?” This was so confusing. Why couldn’t I remember anything?

“You fell down a flight of stairs and hit your head hard on the pavement. Thank goodness this young lady brought you to the hospital on time before you lost too much blood!”

“Oh! Kamsamida!” I said, bowing at the young lady.

She smiled, blushing, obviously shy from all the attention she was getting. I thought that was pretty cute.

“Anyway,” the nurse said to me. “Since all is well, you probably can get discharged today, but you’ll have to be extra careful at home for the next few months. By the way, could you give us the contact of your parents so we could inform them about your accident and get them to pick you up?”

Parents…my parents…my parents…

I tried as hard as I could to remember.

Strange, I really couldn’t remember anything. I had no recollection whatsoever about my parents, which was really weird.

“I’m sorry…I…I can’t seem to remember…”

The nurse frowned. “Then could you at least tell me your name, so we could check for you?”

My name…that should be easy.

Name…name…name…

UGHH…why was it so hard to remember anything?

“I…can’t remember…”

The nurse looked surprised. “Can you remember anything, anything at all?”
I shook my head weakly, “No, nothing at all…”

The nurse immediately went to call the doctor, leaving the young lady in the room with me.

“Hey, I still haven’t gotten your name yet!” I told the girl.

“Oh!” the girl laughed. “I’m Lee Ji Eun! Nice to meet you!”

Ji Eun…that was a nice name….

“Nice to meet you, Ji Eun. Thanks for saving my life!”

“That? Oh that was nothing, really!” she smiled. I really liked her smile. It was so sweet and innocent, like she was really happy.

The nurse came back with a doctor.

“Sir, I’m going to have to run some tests on you, hope you don’t mind.” The doctor told me.

“No, of course not.” I shook my head and lay down.

I was wheeled to another room where they did a thorough scan on my brain. After an hour or so, I was being wheeled back into my room, where Ji Eun was patiently waiting.

“So, how was it?” Ji Eun asked the nurse.

The nurse sighed. Oh no. That meant bad news.

“Results have shown that the impact on your head due to the accident has caused you to lose all your memory,” she said. Ji Eun gasped.

 “The good news is, this memory loss would only be temporary and you’ll regain it all back when the time comes. But for now...” she looked at me. “Do you have any place to stay, young man?”

I shook my head. There was no way I could remember anyone I knew before the accident. I couldn’t even remember my own name!

The nurse looked at me pitifully. “I’m sorry, but we can’t keep you here. You’ll have to be discharged tomorrow morning.”

I didn’t know what to do. I had no where to go, and no one I could depend on.

I didn’t know how long I would not be able to remember things. Until I regained my memory, where could I stay?

“He can stay with me.”
