Chapter 10 – “Original Copy”
I spent a whole month for therapy. Things are going well, especially with Kyuhyun and me. He’s still the same guy, sweet and caring. Tomorrow, he’ll accompany me to school. He’ll help me remember everyone. I guess tomorrow will be the most stressing day.
As I was sitting in Bi Cheui Café Pavan, my phone rang. On the screen was an unregistered number.
“Yobeoseyo?” I asked.
“Hello, Bang Min-Ah.” A male voice said on the other line.
“Nugusaeyo?” I asked curiously. The voice seemed so familiar, yet I couldn’t quite remember.
“You don’t recognize me?” he asked, shocked by my question.
“It’s familiar. But I don’t think I do. I’m sorry, I just came from an operation.” I reasoned out. C’mon, tell me who you are, it wouldn’t hurt that much.
The line went silent for a while. Who is this guy, anyway?
Is he someone I should remember?
Suddenly, a laugh came from the other line. Now what? Am I fooled? Is this some kind of a sick joke? Some stupid sitcom where you call someone and make fun of them?
“I have wasted my time here.” He said.
“Wait, have we met before?” I asked.
Think hard, Min-Ah. You have really missed something. This guy might know something you don’t.
“Of course, we have. How are you Min-Ah?”
“I’m okay. But I think I’m missing something here. Care to fill me up?”
“It would be unfair on my behalf. We’ve just met and you don’t remember me anymore?” he asked, hurt lingering behind his voice.
“But—“
“It’s complicated right now.”
“Oh, c’mon. Please tell me. I don’t want to play games with you.” I told him anxiously.
There was something behind this guy. I’ve got a feeling he’s someone very important. I have to do something. And quick.
“I have to see you.” I told him directly.
“Look behind you.”
As I turned, I saw a familiar face I can’t seem to remember.
