Eugena's POV

"Ah... It's about your daughter and my younger son's marriage." his dad replied casually.

"Pff..."  I spat out my food after hearing the sentence. What on earth is happening? Is this some type of sick joke?!

Wayne passed me a napkin to wipe my mouth. I was still shocked, I looked at Wayne. He was fuming... I never seen him so angry before...

"Do you think this is funny?! Dropping a bomb just like that! She's mine! And who are you to say such a thing?!" Wayne shouted.

" What makes you think that I will agree with the marriage just by you saying something? And I don't even know you." dad remarked.

" Son, the envelop please." his dad said.

He took the envelop from his bag and passed it to my dad, What an ugly bag! I thought. Wait! That isn't the point at all! I snapped at myself. I looked at my parents reaction while they were reading the contents of the envelop... I do not like the look of it.

"Mum! What is it about! Pass it over!!" I snapped. Mum handed me the envelop and Wayne carried me and set my own his lap, resting his chin on my shoulder. I took out the contents and started reading.

Our eyes widen as we continued on reading. How could they promise an arranged marriage? I don't care if my great grandmother and his are bestfriends and wants a marriage to bring both families together closer in the business world or what so ever! My  grandfather owns a boating company which runs the Sentosa to Singapore river route. However the company has changed hands and my dad is running an automobile repair company now.

"What on earth?!" We chorused together.

I leaned back on Wayne's chest, thinking what is all this ? Suddenly, I remembered, "This little girl is getting married at 18."

" I'm sorry please excuse us for a moment. " dad stood up from the dinning table and gesture us to my room.

I got up quickly and pulled Wayne with me. Once everyone was inside the room, I slammed my door shut.

"Dad, is that really true?" Wayne asked. "You can't let my Gena go like that!"

Tears is starting to form.... "Dad...." I whispered.

" I heard my grandparents talking about it once. We did not have a female offspring during my time... I will think of a way." Dad replied, I could feel that he was holding back on something.

I cried. I screamed. "There's no way am I going to marry that ! I will not be in a marriage with no love! Marriage is a gift from god! I'm not playing with my own marriage!"

I wasn't concerned if they could hear our conversation outside. My room was designed to be soundproof, I wanted my room to be sound proof so that I could at least play with the piano or some other instruments when I couldn't sleep. I do not want my late night activties to be disrupted just because some neighbour called the police in! Plus, Wayne could also compose music in my room when he is back in Singapore. His presence just makes me feel safe that I could just fall asleep any time, any where when he is around me.

My parents left the room to handle the situation outside. Wayne hugged me tightly in his arms and promised me that he will do anything and everything to keep me from getting married to that guy outside. I cried harder.

"Kor... I don't want to be married to him at all! I don't want!!" I sobbed.

"Shh... Look at me. I promise that you will not marry him. I dislike him too! You are my Gena forever and I will not let you marry such a jerk!" Wayne cajoled me. "We should call Eugene kor..."

After finishing his sentence he called Eugene. Eugene is my eldest brother, he's married and currently working in London. He is stationed there for a month or so. He's the smart guy, great in numbers and studies. I guess that's why he is in the banking and finance sector. I sat there looking at Wayne making the call and speaking to Eugene on the phone explaining the whole situation. After ending the call, he made a few more calls out. I could not hear what he was saying. I was crying non stop...

30 minutes passed, Wayne walked towards me and kneeled down infront of me.

"Gena, I have good news for you."
