The Misfits3 weeks later:
Kai walked through the big and broad hallways of the Sanguera headquarter. Many memories were connected with those corridors and and small smile appeared on his face. So many happy and sad memories at the same time, though they happy ones overweight the sad ones. A few other Vampires met him and they immediately bowed their heads with respect. Kai nodded back but didn't give them further attention.
The reason why the Sanguera hadn't interfered much with their fight at that time was mostly due Changmin's interference. Most of the Sangueras still could have been able to remember him and that's why they didn't had attacked. Chanyeol and Kai had been sure that after all this, Changmin would take the lead of the Sanguera but surprising, he had declined.
Now, Kai was the leader of the Sanguera, still unofficial but that actually didn't matter. If he had to be honest, he didn't know what to think of his new position since he always had been the one who followed and not the one to lead. “Sire,” some Vampires whispered and Kai was taken aback by that. He never would get used to that. Never ever. Kai left the headquarter after a few more minuted and headed towards the private garden of the big building. His smile softened as he saw a taller, quite familiar figure standing in front of a marble graveyard.
Flowers covered the stone and Kai chuckled as he saw that Chanyeol prayed. “For what are you praying?” Kai asked as he knelt down next to his friend. “For a better future, for Dartan's salvation.” The golden ring laid on the stone as well but Chanyeol quickly picked it up. Carefully, he dusted his clothes and took a deep sigh. “Are you ready?” Kai shook his head and looked down to his shoes, which were polished and quite new.
Today was the day. The day of Luhan's crowning and if they all had to be honest, they were very nervous. The most of the Vampires already had accepted Luhan as the new king but still, the atmosphere still was very... tense. Slowly, Kai shook his head and took a deep sigh as well. “No, of course not.” He touched the necklace and closed his eyes for a while. “How are you feeling, new leader?”
Kai growled silently and shook his head. “Don't call me like that. Just call me... Kai, understand?” Chanyeol suddenly broke out in laughter and patted his friend's shoulder. Never before Chanyeol had felt that nervous and happy at the same time but the happiness somehow grew stronger and stronger. “What do you think would he have said to all this?”
For a moment, Kai smiled as well , before he helped Chanyeol up. “I don't know if he would be proud of us, but if he still would be alive, he would tell us to live our lives to the fullest and that we never should regret anything. There are many things to come and it is not always good to look back, right?” Chanyeol nodded and closed his hands around the ring. “Right.”
