The MisfitsUsually, the ride from Julesburg to Denver would take several hours but since the horses were Vampires as well, it only took them one and a half hour to get there. “I hope this will work out.” Kai mumbled while looking at the small pill, which would falsify their scent. “I don't trust Victoria but I trust her skills. They are terrifying.” Chanyeol muttered. Luhan, Hana, Chanyeol, Kai, Ben, Kyo and Lay sat in the smaller carriage, while the others would drive with Christine.
“Until today we don't know who she really is and I don't believe that she's just a partly elf and fairy. And I do believe that Changmin knows more than he wants to tell us.” Even though Chanyeol may not look like it, and the way he did things sometimes was very brute, he was not dumb though. For the past few days, Chanyeol had watched Victoria closely. There was something about her that he couldn't quite grab and it freaked the out of him, if he had to be honest.
With a nervous feeling inside him, Chanyeol tapped his fingers on his mask, which was lightly violet with silver borders. For now, he reminded himself, he should stop worrying. For their mission now they all needed a clear head or else... Chanyeol didn't even want to think about it. Ben suddenly tensed up and everyone looked at him. “What's wrong?” Kyo asked while narrowing his eyes slightly.
“They are coming.” Kyo's nose twitched slightly and everyone put their masks on. It actually didn't wonder Luhan that they would watch the carriage. As their driver knocked, they gulped down the small pills. Seconds later, even Hana could feel the presence of the Vampires and she grabbed Luhan's hand. Since he already wore his mask, she couldn't see his expression but she was sure that he was smiling. “They don't even hide it.”
More and more presences started to follow them, twenty, if Hana had counted correctly. “It would be rude if their hide their presences. There are some Vampires who really have their pride, Vampires, which Elijah shouldn't anger.” From Kai's words Hana could take that there were Vampires, which probably were stronger than Luhan or his brother himself .
Once again she realized how much Vampires actually respected their hierarchy. Somehow, that worried her. Luhan's father had broken down that hierarchy by killing his brother and that would give many other Vampires the same opportunity to do that to Luhan as well. She actually didn't care, if she would have to live in such danger but she feared for Mari. She couldn't even imagine how big her shock and fear of Vampires was now.
