Of The Guardians: Inheritor [Being Made Into a Novel Series]"I guess what scares me the most now is the thought that I won't be able to protect you."
- Julia Hoban, Willow "YES! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!" you exclaimed excitedly, jumping up and down like an idiot before you practically knocked Kris and Suho over in a failed attempt at hugging them. "No problem, I'm sure it would be fine," Kris said as he smiled and gave you a pat on the head. "Well, Kris could fly back, no problem, but that would only leave one seat open," Suho said as he squirmed in your arms. You grinned as you looked up at them. "Well then, here's some good news! Kai is one, an Inheritor, and two, he's a teleporter!""So that's how you disappeared during the competition! Kai just said he took you out of it; he never mentioned that he teleported you- WAIT! HE'S AN INHERITOR?!?!?!" Luhan exclaimed with his jaw dropped as if he had made some incredible discovery. You laughed at Luhan's awkward facial expression and nodded your head. "Well, he can take himself then. Maybe someone else if he's strong enough. We could fit the two younger ones as well. But you said something about his father?" Kris asked as you finally released him and Suho. You flopped down on one of their beds in their inn room.
"Oh, yeah. I think he's mentally ill," you reported with a grim face, recalling Kai's mentioning that Kaylee and Zane were afraid of being abused by their father. "Well, we could put him in the healer's quarters. Perhaps a specialist could look at him," Suho suggested as he ran his fingers though his brown locks, a habit you noticed he did when he was thinking. You flipped over onto your stomach and propped your head on your arms. "Do you think he could be cured?" you asked hopefully.
"We can't be certain, but any type of healing that can be done would help," Suho told you. Kris and Luhan nodded their heads in agreement before you sat up on the bed. "Then I think we should bring him to Orcana too! All in favor?" you asked as you raised your hand. The three boys looked at each other before they also raised their hands. You grinned and hopped off the bed. "I'll go tell Kai the good news then!" you announced as you ran out the door of the room.
- "KAI, KAI, KAI, KAI, KAI, KAI, KAI, KAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!" yelled a voice from outside. A quite confused Kai stood up and made his way towards the front door. He grabbed the knob and began opening the door. "Kora? What are you- WHOA!" he exclaimed as a force pushed the door open, making him topple backwards and fall flat on his back on the hard, wooden floor. "OH, MY GOSH SORRY!" you exclaimed as you grabbed his hand, pulling him up from the ground. "Uh... It's okay..." he said, wincing as he massaged the back of his neck. "I have a solution!" you told him excitedly. "A solution? To what?" he asked you with a tilted head. "To how you can come with us!" you reminded him. "Uh, Kora, I don't see how that is possible. I have to take care of-" Kai began before being abruptly cut off. "That's the beauty of it! You can come with us, and we can take your siblings and your dad to Orcana! There, they can be safe and well taken care of!" you explained. Kai's mouth fell ajar, his eyes huge. "Are... are you serious?!?!" he asked in astonishment. "Yup!" you answered, smiling. "No jokes, right? You're being 100% honest with me?" Kai questioned skeptically. The deal sounded too good to be true! "Would I lie to the guy who practically saved my life?" you laughed hysterically. Kai stared at you for the longest time; it seemed like hours! "Uh... Kai?" You waved your hand in front of his face. He was dazed. "Y-you..." he stuttered. "ARE AMAZING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!" Kai swore he was so happy he could cry! An enormous smile crept up his face, and all he could do was grab you around your waist and pick you up into the air. "Yeah, I knew that already!" you chuckled, smirking as he spun you around happily. You both laughed together until you heard someone cough from behind, making your heads turn towards the door. "Well... this is awkward," Suho said uneasily, giving a fake cough. Kai immediately put you back on the ground, and you both moved away from each other. "How do you think we feel?!?!" Kaylee squeaked from the hallway. She and Zane were standing there with their jaws dropped. "You're really weird, Kai! I thought you said all girls have cooties?" Zane said with a scrunched nose. "I guess Kora told you the news," Kris said, smiling. "Yes, she did. Thank you guys so much!" Kai said, bowing his head in gratitude. "No problem. Thank you for taking care of Kora! She informed us about your situation, and we are more than happy to help," Kris told him. "And what about my father?" Kai asked, biting his bottom lip. "He will be treated at the healer's quarters. We're not sure if we can heal him completely, but we think any healing we can do would be beneficial for him," Suho answered. Kai nodded his head in agreement. "When is our departure?" he asked. "In a few hours," Luhan said as he continued to look around the small shack. It was pretty sad, small, and shabby-looking compared to his mansion back in Orcana. It was quite surprising that there was an area like this in Arth, but then again, Luhan hadn't been there in a while. Kai motioned for his siblings to come over towards him. "You guys better pack; we're leaving soon." "To where?" Zane asked his older brother. "We're moving to Orcana." The twins became wide-eyed. "ORCANA?!?!?! The place with the big castle?!?!?!" Kaylee
