Giselle has waited for her bestfriend na maisara ang pinto bago niya paandarin ang sasakyan.

“Hey, Gi.” Karina huffs.

Halos patakbo siyang bumaba mula sa office niya hoping na makarating siya sa klase on time.

“Sorry for this. We really thought he could be able to pick me up today.” She adds nang normal na ang paghinga niya.

“Bakit ka kasi hindi nagdala ng sasakyan?” Giselle asks as she tries to drive a little urgent.

“Hinatid niya ako kaninang umaga sa company. The plan was he’d pick me up as well, but something came up sa office niya.”

Jongin’s an architect and she understands how things work between them when it comes to their jobs. They both are dedicated to their fields, so they never really had a problem with it. It’s something they have already talked about.

Giselle hums as an answer.

She looks at her friend for a moment, noticing how frantic she is as she fixes her blouse.

“What’s with that cooking class kasi? Can’t you just do it at home? It’s really unnecessary.” Giselle rolls her eyes.

“Gi, his mom insists. She even pays for the classes.”

“What. Are they afraid you won’t make it sa ‘best housewife’ category?”

Giselle finds it weird somehow. Jongin’s folks are a bit too traditional in her opinion, for a family which has lived in the US for a long time.

Karina chooses to ignore her best friend’s comment. What can she do?

She can’t say no to them anyway.

“Alam mo Rina, puwede ka naman huminde eh. Why are you letting them decide for you all the time?”

“I don’t mind naman, Gi. We’re getting married, so it makes sense. “

“Okay.” Giselle sighs, defeated.

Karina knows this isn’t the only thing that is making Giselle frustrated right now. There are so many more to mention and she knows she has a lot to say. But she doesn’t want to hear any of them right now.

“Tuloy na tayo this weekend,okay?.” Rina asks in a more cheerful tone to clear the air.

“It’s you kaya yung laging nagka-cancel.”

“Oo na po. Inaamin ko naman.”

“I-cancel na kaya kita as my bestfriend?”

Karina sticks her tongue out sa kaibigan. “Oh finally? You should have done that a long time ago.”

Giselle scoffs. “You still owe me a lot though. Di ka pa nakakabawi.”

“See? I guess you’re stuck with me. Just accept your fate, Gi”
