Jihyun could tell that her daughter was extremely excited as the young girl was shaking her awake as early as 7am on a Friday morning. She usually had trouble waking up for school but today was different. With a gleaming expression in her eyes, she peppered her mother with kisses and squealed loudly, “Wake up, eomma! We need to get ready for the concert!”

Clutching onto the toy that Taehyung gave her a couple of days ago for Christmas on her right, and another rabbit soft toy that Jungkook had given her on her left, she placed them carefully in a bag and ran out of the room before shouting, “I’ll wait downstairs, eomma!”

The girl had already gotten ready herself - with the help of her early-riser halmeoni of course.

It was another hour before they arrived at school filled with a large crowd of parents and children. She was silently thankful that the event had been a closed-off and private schedule for the boys and that only a couple of reporters were here. Glancing at her phone, she smiled as Taehyung had informed her that they were just around the corner and were about to arrive.

After a couple of minutes, a black van had stopped in front of the duo. The door opened, revealing a beaming Taehyung with outstretched hands as the young girl ran towards him excitedly. Jihyun couldn’t help but chuckle at the two.

Jihyun watched as the rest of the members spilled out of the van, not missing the one who was in a grey hoodie and black sweatpants, walking towards him with a small smile. She tried not to look, but she couldn’t help but stare as his eyes looked tired and sad - she wondered why.

“Hey Jihyun!” The rest of them came towards her and pulled her into a brief hug as they greeted each other. Jungkook and Taehyung had got caught up at the back and were now being pulled by Junghyun who was skipping along the road towards them.

“This means a lot to us, guys. Thank you.” She said in an appreciative tone and the boys merely smiled, “This is nothing Jihyun, you’re our friend and we had so much fun with Junghyun too.” RM said as he glanced over at the young girl chuckling and waving at them from afar. “Hi Uncles!”

The boys had gone backstage with Junghyun to prepare, and Jihyun had found a good spot among the audience to see them. Pulling out her camera, she waited eagerly for their performance.

It seemed that the school knew the popularity of the band as well, as it had already been an hour since the dance started and the show was coming to an end. Finally, she heard her daughter’s name being called as she came onto stage with 7 people that she had come to enjoy spending time with. The whole theatre erupted into cheers and squeals as the music started playing and the whole place was filled with camera flashes.

It didn’t matter if they were cheering because Bangtan was there, or because of her kid - she was just glad to see the glowing eyes of her daughter as she performed on stage, just like her father who couldn’t take his eyes off the young girl as he danced on with a wide smile on his face.

For a moment, she wished Jungkook knew that Junghyun was his daughter- she thought of how he could be teaching her how to dance and sing, how he would enjoy being her supporter at year-end school concerts, how he would encourage her to follow her dreams and never give up. She felt guilty that Junghyun was devoid of a father figure, but she knew that would never come true as he already had someone else in his heart.

Snapping out of her thoughts when the place erupted into applause, the young girl ran off the stage into Jihyun’s arms as she hugged her mother tightly. Smiling at the duo, the members went backstage as the performance ended, not wanting to draw unwanted attention.

Heading out of the backdoor to prevent camera flashes as the boys went from the front, she got into her car as a text message pinged on her phone.

Lunch with us? The members want to see you and Junghyun.

-Taehyung

Of course, I’ll see you.

-Jihyun

Heading towards the lunch venue, Junghyun continued to excitedly talk about the performance as the adrenaline continued rushing through her body. Jihyun could tell that the young girl was still ecstatic as she pumped her hands in the air from time to time and requested for her mother to play “Boy with Luv” through the car speakers.

Arriving at the venue, Junghyun barely waited for her as she ran towards the boys who were waiting for them at the table. “She seems to be excited to see you guys more than me.” Jihyun chuckled as she settled between Taehyung and Jin while Junghyun had found a seat between Jungkook and Taehyung as she stuck close to them. Shooting a joking glare to her daughter for ditching her, Taehyung patted her shoulder and laughed loudly, “Come on, Ji. You get her 24 hours a day, let her spend some time with other people, otherwise she might get t
