Taehyung had gotten up extremely early the next day to prepare. When he came downstairs, Jungkook was already eating breakfast at the table.

"Morning!" He chirped happily before pouring out cereal into the bowl. "Morning." Jungkook said in a dull voice. "Why are you so down?" Taehyung asked as he put a spoonful of cereal into his mouth. "Nothing." He shrugged before focusing on his breakfast.

"Come on, Jungkook. You have something on your mind, tell me what it is." He encouraged and Jungkook shook his head, not wanting to spoil Taehyung's mood.

Truth to be told, he had been greatly affected by Jihyun's return. Her return had made him face the feelings he had for her which had been tucked away at the bottom of his heart resurface again. Nevertheless, she didn't seem like the old Jihyun anymore, and he knew he was the main cause of it. He wanted to make it up to her, but he didn't know where to begin - there were too many unresolved issues between them.

"Enough about me, what's up with you today? You look extra chirpy." He tried to change the subject and Taehyung let out a broad grin, "I'm going out in a bit."

"Wow, Kim Taehyung is actually stepping out of his house to meet someone! Who's the lucky girl?" He teased, as Taehyung had mostly spent his time in the dorm during his off days. "Do you remember Jihyun, the girl who interviewed us the other day?"

No way.

"W-what about her?" Jungkook stuttered nervously, waiting for the answer. "I haven't told anyone this before... but she was my first love." He said shyly and Jungkook dropped his spoon in shock. "What?" He asked softly as his face whitened. "Yeah, she had someone in her life at that time. But I think it's going to be different this time, us meeting again seemed like fate. I'm excited to see how things go." He smiled happily as he continued eating his cereal.

Jungkook continued gaping at his answer, but Taehyung seemed too happy to notice the younger's reaction. "By the way, Jungkook, how did you know her before? She was crying so badly that day after I left her to talk to you. Did it have something to do with you?" He questioned and Jungkook's heart sank. She was crying?

He had thought that she didn't want to have anything to do with him, nor did she care about him anymore. Little did he know that he was the reason for her tears, again. "We used to be friends..." That was all he could gather before losing himself in his thoughts.

"That's such a coincidence! The atmosphere was so intense that day, I thought you two were enemies. Well since you both are friends, I guess her crying didn't have anything to do with you then. I'll check in with her later." He said as he finished up his cereal quickly.

"You are leaving so early?" Jungkook snapped out of his thoughts as he saw Taehyung approaching the door, "I'm picking up some flowers at the store!" He beamed before wearing his shoes, "Bye Jungkook!"

Jungkook sighed audibly into the silent air. Sunflowers are her favourite, Taehyung.

Stepping into the flower shop, Taehyung was at a loss of what to buy. He didn't know what had gotten into him that morning, but he wanted to get some flowers for Jihyun as a gesture, and also to make her happy. The thing was, he had never bought any flowers for any girl before - Jihyun was the first.

Walking through the store in his all-black disguise, he approached the old lady at the counter for help. "Looking for something?" She asked kindly while Taehyung nodded. "I'm looking for flowers for a beautiful girl, but I don't know what to get." The lady smiled in return and asked instead, "Well, what does she mean to you, and what does she remind you of?"

He thought about the memories they had shared together. "She's a very genuine and kind-hearted person... She exudes positivity and happiness to everyone she meets - and I am thankful for all the happy moments she has brought into my life." He said with a small and shy smile on his face. The lady didn't speak and merely grinned as she went around the stores to assemble a bouquet of flowers.

"I've picked sunflowers as the main flower because they are a symbol of happiness and optimism. This girl seems very chirpy and positive, so I thought I'd choose a flower that represents her. I've also added a couple of baby breaths on the side to complement it, what do you think about it?" She said and he looked at the beautifully arranged bouquet.

"It's perfect."

He rang the doorbell when he arrived at the apartment, expecting the girl waiting for him. Instead, the door opened slightly and a small head peeked out, "Who are you looking for?"

He glanced at the unit number and the houses around it, "Isn't it unit 15?"

"I'm looking for Kim Jihyun, is she here?" Taehyung asked and the little girl nodded, "Eomma, someone's looking for you!"

"Eomma?"

"Coming!"

She appeared at the door with an apologetic expression, "I am so sorry for not getting ready yet, Taehyung. Just give me a couple of minutes, I'm almost done cooking for Junghyun and my mum will take over after her shower." She said hurriedly and even though he was confused by the situation, he merely nodded his head. "Sure, do you want me to come in first?" He asked and she nodded quickly, "Of course, come on in!"

He entered the door to see the young girl jumping on the sofa while Jihyun hurriedly went to the kitchen. He had always loved kids, and had always wanted one of his own. He made his way to the young girl, and compared to other shy kids, she looked happy and excited to see him.

"Hi!" She waved excitedly as he approached her, a smile that he couldn't help but smile along. "Hello there. I'm Kim Taehyung, how about you?" He asked and she replied with a wide grin, "I'm Kim Junghyun."

"How old are you, Junghyun?" He asked and Junghyun used her short fingers to count before replying, "Six!"

And then the burning question in his head came. "Where's your dad?" He asked as he held his breath. He wanted to know who the lucky guy who caused him to lose his chance even before he could attempt to chase after Jihyun.

"I don't have a dad." She said nonchalantly and Taehyung looked puzzled, "Your dad's not here?" He asked and she shook her head, "Nope. It had just been me, eomma and halmeoni."

Jihyun is a single mother?

Before Taehyung could ask any further, Jihyun and a middle-aged lady emerged from the room. "Nice to meet you, I'm Jihyun's mother." She said and he bowed in response, "Hello, I'm Kim Taehyung."

"Thanks for bringing Jihyun out, she never leaves the house unless it's for work." She teased and Jihyun whined, "Mom!" Taehyung chuckled at the sight.

"Eomma, where are you going? I want to go too." Junghyun said softly as she tugged onto Jihyun's floral dress as she squatted down to her level. "Junghyun, eomma's going out today, I'll be back soon, okay? I'll read you a bedtime story tonight."

He wasn't sure what had spurred him to say it, but he wanted to know all about Jihyun, even if that meant her having a daughter that he didn't expect.

"Does Junghyun want to come along?" He interjected and this time, Jihyun's eyes widened. "You're okay with it?" She asked incredulously - it definitely wasn't a date, but she was surprised to hear Taehyung's offer.

"Of course! She said she's your daughter, so I want to know more about this little angel here." He said as he ruffled her hair while the young girl cheered, "I like you, Uncle Tae Tae!" The whole room erupted into laughter at the girl's cute actions.

"Let's go!" He said as he picked her up while she let out a cheerful yelp, "I'm flying!" She screamed as Taehyung ran towards his car while carrying her in his hands, earning a chortled laugh from Jihyun. "Have fun, Ji." Her mother said as she nodded before closing the front door.

"Where to?" She asked after settling the young girl down in the back seat.

"You'll see!" He said with a secretive and excited tone as he pulled her to the car.

Driving along the streets of Seoul, she couldn't help but notice that she was entering her old neighbourhood where her college used to be. "Are you bringing us to Seoul College?" She widened her eyes and Taehyung merely shrugged while parking at a nearby spot.

"Come on!" He said as he opened the back door and carried Junghyun out, carefully holding onto her small hands while the other pulled Jihyun along. "First stop, our favourite dumpling noodles!" He announced as he pulled her to their favourite store which they had visited all the time after school for lunch. "I was just thinking about it yesterday!" She said excitedly and he chuckled at her silliness. "Ah hold up, I left something in the car. Go in first!" He ran back frantically to his car while the two headed to the store.

Entering the small restaurant, she was glad that there weren't many people in it as they were in a small neighbourhood - she didn't want Taehyung to feel uncomfortable. The restaurant's interior had not changed much, the wall was still filled with graffiti, but the plastic chairs had been replaced with sofa seats. She made themselves comfortable in the usual seat while waiting for Taehyung to arrive.

"Here you go." He said as h
