Sue: So what happened last night, did you guys talk for a long time? (Sue sleepily asked Kaye on the phone as she was getting ready for school) 

 

Kaye: Not really, it kind of got awkward towards the end

 

Sue: Why?

 

Kaye: I don’t know if I’m just imagining things but I feel like we were talking about something else while pretending it was a normal conversation, you know what I mean?

 

Sue: No, I don’t, please explain

 

Kaye: Ok, so I told him I like talking to him and he said he liked talking to me too

 

Sue: And so?

 

Kaye: I don’t know I just felt something, like, I wish he really meant what he said.

 

Sue: Ian usually means what he says, he’s not one to flatter and play around with girls, in fact....never mind. (You were the only one he seemed to have liked so far, Sue silently said to herself)

 

Kaye: You guys are so alike, he said that too last night. Good thing I don’t get bothered by that. Curious people would bug you until you tell them what you wanted to say instead of “never mind”

 

Sue: I just think it’s better if people get to talk in person because that way you could observe their actions too and tell if they are sincere.
