On their first date, Ian brought Kaye to his dad’s resting place.  He wanted to introduce Kaye to his dad and let him know how important Kaye was to him.  They also went to a park near the river to wait for the sunset. Kaye was happy that it was a simple date but a very meaningful one. As the sun started to set, Ian held Kaye’s hands and told Kaye again that he loves her. Kaye finally said I love you too, and then Ian instinctively hugged Kaye. They stayed that way for a few minutes until they realized they were in a public place. They decided to go home before it got dark. When they got to Kaye’s house, Ian was invited in. Kaye introduced Ian as a friend to her mom and siblings. Ian was so shy but respectful. He asked permission from Kaye’s family if he could invite her for lunch at their house tomorrow. Kaye looked at Ian questioningly; she was surprised that Ian did not even discuss it with her. Kaye’s mom gave her permission and Ian bid his goodbye promising to pick up Kaye tomorrow morning.

Ian called Kaye when he got home and the first thing Kaye said was that he should have told her about his plans for lunch.

Kaye: Okay, I know I said, “surprise me”, but that was very brave of you to ask my mom about having lunch with your family tomorrow.

Ian: I was not expecting to be introduced to your family as well but it turned out okay, right?

Kaye: I guess…maybe before we do things like that again we should ask each other first.

Ian: Got it sweetie. (Ian then hurriedly hung up the phone)

Kaye looked at the receiver thinking the line got cut off but she realized he just called her sweetie and he probably didn’t want to know how she would respond. Kaye smiled and said to herself that she likes the term of endearment and makes a note to think of what she wants to call him too. Ian went and talked to his mom and brother when he got off the phone. He wanted to make sure that they were at least prepared for tomorrow. His mom usually cooks a good meal during weekends and he just needs to tell her that they will be having a guest. His mom was okay with it but his brother was more curious since he has not shown any interest towards any girl before nor has Ian mentioned a girl to him recently. Ian said that she was his friend and that she will be leaving the country soon so he wanted to treat her to a home-cooked meal before she leaves. Nothing could spoil Ian’s mood even if his brother kept teasing him that maybe he finally has a girlfriend
