chapter XXI: the return
the aster and the sunflower.3 months.
It had been 3 months since they had lost Ella; Luckily Jennie was not banned to see Ella in her wake and to attend the burial, though Mr. and Mrs. Kim did not pay any attention to Jennie, they had no choice but to let her because it was Ella’s wish. It had been 3 long months but Jennie was surprisingly coping well, she had not drowned herself in alcoholic drinks, she did not lock herself up inside her room or her office, but did she cry? Of course she did, every night, every day and up until now her heart yearns for her sister. Scenes of Ella’s last moments remained in Jennie’s memory, the way her eyes lost the flicker of hope that was left, how she breathed her last breath, and the way she went with a small smile on her face.
Jennie’s also thankful to have Lisa by her side, not once did Lisa leave her alone even though she kept pushing her away, telling her to off and leave her be, the Thai was persistent, she was stronger than Jennie thought. And right now, Lisa was busy taking reservations for Floraison, Jisoo and Rosé were helping out with the flower arrangements while Jennie simply sat back and admired the hard work they were all putting.
Lisa was in a plaid shirt, shorts and flip flops, her hair was tied up in a messy bun and her specs were falling off of her nose bridge as she bit her tongue as she wrote down the customers’ orders. Jennie giggled at the sight and stood up to fix the girl’s glasses. Lisa smiled at the action and mouthed a ‘thank you’ to Jennie.
“Want me to take over for a sec?” Jennie whispered to her
Lisa shivered.
“No, love. I can handle this, just sit back and relax, okay?” Lisa said
“Yeah, that ain’t happening” Jennie said as she grabbed the notepad from Lisa’s hands and pushed her back to slump down on the small couch
Before Lisa could even protest, Jennie was already taking orders from people and managing the counter, taking reservations and answering questions. Lisa smiled at how at home Jennie felt, although the head game developer knew nothing about business related manners or flowers, she still did her best and helped out in any way possible.
Lisa cannot help but admire how strong Jennie is; she had just lost a sister 3 months ago, had some troubles with their company just last month, released a new game just last week, yet she still found time to help out and be with Lisa.
Lisa then stood up and hugged Jennie from behind, earning a gasp from the head game developer, Lisa chuckled as she saw Jennie’s cheeks turning red and the customers in front of her ogling at how adorable they were being.
“Lisa, there are customers” Jennie mumbled, trying to hide her blush
“So? My customers see Jisoo and Rosie make out all the time” Lisa joked
Jennie giggled.
“I love you” Lisa whispered to her, making Jennie’s ears turn bright red
“I love you too, baby” Jennie said as she quickly pecked the Thai’s lips, with that, Lisa chuckled and sat back down admiring the girl once again who went back to taking orders.
…
“Was that the last one, Lis?” Rosé asked as they all watched the last customer exit the shop
Lisa sighed and smiled. “Last one for today” she said
“How many reservations for this week?” Jisoo asked
“5 this week, 7 next week then 3 weddings” Lisa said
Rosé gasped.
“Lisa? Can we handle all that?” Rosé asked
“Just call Bam” Jisoo suggested
“Bam’s back in Thailand, Aunt Mira,
