My World, My LoveThe next day's promotions went well, as did promotions on the day after. Then, the following day everyone but Lucy had a day off: Lucy had to take her final exams at school.
"Do we get to have that party today?" Rina asked.
Suyeon shook her head. 'We've got to be ready to go again tomorrow. Plus, Lucy's not going to feel like doing anything but sleeping once she finishes her finals - you remember what they're like."
Rina shuddered. "I still have nightmares."
Just then Sei passed through on her way to the kitchen. "What's going on?" Suyeon asked.
"I'm baking Lucy a cake, to celebrate her finishing her finals," Sei responded as she opened the pantry and started taking out ingredients.
"Shouldn't you wait until you're sure that she passes before you do that?" Suyeon asked.
Sei shook her head, never looking up from trying to find the recipe for cake on her phone. "I can bake another one then, but I want this just to celebrate her taking the tests."
"That makes sense," Suyeon said with a nod. "And it's not like you can take her out somewhere to celebrate."
"Exactly," Sei said as she opened the flour, scattering white powder all over the counters.
"Well, if you need help, just give me a yell," Suyeon said. "I'll be watching TV. Rina, you coming?"
But Rina had already pulled out her phone and was engrossed in texting. Suyeon smiled and left the room.
Elly looked up from her phone as Lua came into the bedroom. "What's going on?" she asked.
Lua shrugged and flopped down on her bed. "Just waiting for the sun to rise in America so I can text Jennie."
Elly nodded in sympathy. "Foreign tours are the worst."
"It'd probably be different if we were the ones on a foreign tour," Lua said.
Elly scoffed. "As if FanMu would pay for that!"
"We can still hope," Lua said. "I'd love a chance to perform for our international Ki-lings."
Elly nodded. "Yeah, that would be nice. But I'm not holding my breath."
"Anyway," Lua said, "I wasn't coming to talk to you about FanMu's shortcomings. I came to get your advice."
Elly leaned forward. "Okay. What's up?"
Lua rolled over and held her phone out to Elly. There was a picture of Blackpink's Jennie and some blonde girl on the screen. "Every picture of Jennie for the last three days," Lua said, "this girl has been in the picture with her." She handed Elly her phone and Elly started scrolling back through pictures of Jennie. Sure enough, wherever Jennie was, the blonde was somewhere near her.
"You're not worried, are you?" Elly asked.
'I wasn't at first," Lua said, "but it's been three days and she's still there!"
Elly shook her head. "There's got to be some explanation. I can't imagine Jennie cheating on you - she loves you so much!"
"That's what I thought," Lua said, "but now I'm starting to doubt everything."
"Are you thinking of trying to bring this up with Jennie?" Elly asked.
"Do you think I should?" Lua responded. "I'm just. . . I don't trust my judgment here."
"I'm not going to tell you what to do," Elly said, "but if you do dedide to talk to her about it, you've got to be very careful not to sound like you're accusing her."
"So no asking 'Who's the blonde you're hanging out with?' - I'd figured that much out on my own. But what should I say?"
Elly was silent for a long moment. "Is it okay if I talk with Alice-sunbae about this?" she finally asked. "I've got some ideas, but I'd like to get her input before I tell you anything."
"That'd be great," Lua said. "Right now I'm just going crazy refreshing her Insta feed and being jealous, so any advice would be good."
Lucy unlocked the door and walke
