To Mr Xu Minghao

Your first year friend came up to me at lunch today.

His introduced himself as Lee Chan and he never once stopped smiling. He was adorable on a kid-like way.

He asked me why I always sat alone and his expression seemed to sadden when I gave him my answer.

"Nobody deserves to be alone," he'd scolded me but I brushed it off.

I stood up and smiled at him gently as I mumbled, "I do," and I walked away.

I could feel his eyes on my back and I felt horrible for hurting him. I knew I did because that's what his eyes read.

He was a really sweet person.

But hopefully...

Hopefully he learnt his lesson from his interaction with me.

You, on the other hand, I didn't even see today.

Were you at school?

Or were you sick?

Or did you perhaps know... what I was doing and you were trying to avoid me.

I wasn't sure.

And I wasn't sure I wanted the truth.
