Chapter 13
The One I Can't Live WithoutWord Count: 2121
Jisoo bid Daehyun farewell and then walked to her seat, careful to try and not make eye contact with Taehyung, whose eyes never seemed to leave her. Even if his eyes were locked onto her, he seemed to be far away. He seemed as though he was occupied with his thoughts. Jisoo finally walked past Taehyung and took her seat behind him. She expected Taehyung to turn right around and begin questioning her, but she was slightly surprised when he didn't. He, instead, stayed faced forward in his seat. Jisoo didn't know whether to be relieved or confused. She had been nervous to face him and so when she didn't have to, she was kind of relieved. She felt like a burden had been lifted off of her shoulders. On the other hand, she had expected Taehyung to begin questioning her like no one's business, asking her why she'd left his house with no explanation or why she hadn't answered any of his calls. When he didn't do any of that, she was confused. He just stayed facing forward. The question that she expected Taehyung to ask were asked by Nayeon, who had walked up to the empty seat beside her and claimed it.
"Where were you all weekend? I tried calling you but you didn't answer."
Jisoo did her best to fake a smile on her face in the direction of her friend. What was she supposed to say to that? She didn't want to tell Nayeon the truth. The fact that Taehyung had accidentally, in his sleepy state, called her Mina was not only hurtful, it was also embarrassing. She didn't want to embarass herself in front of one of her best friends. Her pride couldn't take it. She had to come up with an excuse, and quick.
"Mianhae, my phone died on Saturday and I couldn't find my charger to charge it." It wasn't the best excuse but Nayeon seemed to believe it.
Taehyung, on the other hand, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation, didn't for a second believe the lie that she told Nayeon. As soon as Jisoo had sat down, Taehyung had wanted to turn around and give her the third degree, questioning her until she finally told him why she was ignoring him, however, he couldn't. In his head all he could think about was what Mina had said the day that they broke up and whether or not he actually had feelings for Jisoo in a way that was more than friends.
When their teacher walked and began lecturing, both Taehyung and Jisoo had a hard time focusing on the lesson. Jisoo was focused on why Taehyung was acting unusual and ignoring her, maybe that made her a bit of a hypocrite considering that she had been ignoring him, and Taehyung was too caught up in his own thoughts to be worried about how to apply formulas to solve an equation.

The whole day, Jisoo and Taehyung did not speak to one another. Jisoo had been slightly on edge the whole time, not understanding why Taehyung wasn't speaking to her. Did I piss him off by ignoring him? Jisoo hadn't wanted to face Taehyung, she was hurt and humiliated by him, but she also didn't want to lose him as a friend. She wanted to ask him why he was ignoring her, but at the same time she didn't want to talk to him in fear that he would ask her why she had left on Saturday. She was so conflicted.
Taehyung, on the other hand, was also ignoring Jisoo because of confusion. He was struggling to come to terms with the fact that he may possibly have feelings for her, someone that he considered his best friend. The both of them had grown up together and he had always considered her to be like one of his own siblings. She was the closest person to him. He didn't know how he was supposed to act around her now that he realized that he might possibly feel something for her. There was also the matter of the fact that Jisoo was ignoring him and he still had no idea why.
The lack of interaction between the two friends wasn't only confined to both of them. Nayeon had also noticed that something wasn't quite right between the pair. Nayeon had first noticed it in class when Jisoo had walked in. Usually, Taehyung was always with her, but the both of them had arrived separately to the classroom and not only that, neither of them had spoken a word to the other the whole day, seeming to skirt around one another. It didn't take a genius to figure out that something was wrong with them. During break, she had nudged Jimin and motioned in the direction of their unusually quiet friends.
"Do you see what I see?"
Jimin looked over in the direction Nayeon had indicated to. Jisoo was looking over her notes and Taehyung was just sitting with his head down on his desk. Usually, the pair of them would be talking to each other, at times, ignoring the rest of their friends in favor for each other, but that wasn't the case now. Jimin looked back ov
