We came to Greece as volunteers helping in refugee camps with a peacekeeper organizations. Teaching poor children and helping in the development of some startups. It was amazing, we were a multicultural group. Emma, Taeyong, and I were from South Korea but there was other people from Paris, Germany, China, and the USA too but we never had a very close relationship with any of them.

Work was smooth and fun with Emma.We were roommates, we spent many days doing whatever and talking about everything and nothing. We became best friends as we shared each other's secrets and did many things together and at the end, we promised each other to go to the same university next year when we go back home or at least, be close to each other as we come from the same city ... Seoul.

Taeyong was on a different program so he was a little away from us. In the beginning, he just kept it formal but later, the 3 of us had a very fun time. 

But all that time, I didn't help myself not to glance at Taeyong. He was handsome and somehow mysterious and the best part of him was his smile.

Yes. He was my summer crush.

I didn't tell anyone, not even Emma, I don't know why maybe I thought that it was just a strange feeling that will vanish as time goes by but it didn't. It was there with me for the whole summer.

Every time he asks "Did you have lunch?"

I'll answer "No" even if I did or "Do you want to go check that place?" I'll go with a big "Yes" just to spend more time with him. But I was also very stupid, very naive, and innocent, I didn't know how to express myself nor how to make him notice me in the way I wished he did.
I just kept acting like usual the whole time and smiling ... a lot like a fool most of the time 

"Keep smiling" I once read "Maybe he will fall in love with your smile"

Emma was with me the entire time but I never told her how I actually felt.

 Now I think it was the best decision I have ever made.

Thank God I didn't tell her.
