Chapter 25
Your Secrets"Finally, here you are." Gushed the female, with her frequent cry. She stood up from one of the dusty boxes, treating it as a small stool.
Renjun sighed, "I guess now I can tell you what had been disturbing me lately-"
"Zip your mouth. I'm gonna be the one talking for the whole time we're here." She snapped, suddenly. The red head was blown out by her answer, as a second ago she was just as sweet as honey. Her round, bright bead like eyes pierced right through him, making his shoulder shudder dismally. What's with the sudden change of atmosphere?
The lassie smirked at Renjun's dumbfounded look, and glanced behind her. Her grimacing sneer was as disturbing as her stiff steps that leaned towards him. Renjun couldn't help but retreat to the right corner, "What- what do you want Meilin?" He stuttered, toppling over more of the dusty, bare cardboard boxes.
She clicked her tongue, glaring at the puzzled male, "Meilin. I'm not Meilin." Her finger played with her hair, then she flicked her hair behind her ear. "Remember back at the orphanage, the one your snobby self stayed at."
Her vulgar words were stabbing Renjun's ears, all he could do was nod, as she finally placed herself permanently on a spot on the tree house floor. "She was never alone. I mean, me. Don't you remember me you rascal? You had always believed your parents would fetch you, every time you sat in the damp dorm, and would cry when it reaches midnight."
Renjun lifted a brow, "How do you know all this? How do you know my childhood?" His throat dried up, as if it was stuck in the scorching heat of an empty night in the desert.
She let out a deep, malicious chuckle, and bought up something between her fingers. There sat two light pink bows, all witty and tangled. Renjun's eyes rounded, his pupils shrinking deeper in his dark amber coloured iris. "M-meimei's pink bows." He whispered, "I don't understand..."
"What do you mean you don't understand you egoistic spoiled brat!" She hollered, stuffing the delicate bows back in her pocket, "I, Meimei, am Meilin's older sister that apparently died in that accident! But not all of me left, my personality was planted inside of her."
The red haired boy shook his head, "W-what? I still don't get it-"
"Shut the up and let me explain then!" She screamed, glaring at him. "Meilin was found homeless after the accident. People tried bringing her to the orphanage and asked for her name, but she was too shocked to say anything. So I decided to speak up, and they wrote down my name instead." The female sighed deeply, bringing down her shoulders for a bit and chew on her bottom lip, "It was my way to say that I'm here for her."
Renjun had his mouth zipped, as the tension between them soaked in somberness. "You really care for Meilin."
"Of course I do! That's where I got mad. Ever since you were adopted, Minghao followed on, and so did every one of our friends there! Meilin was alone, she was so, so sad, I couldn't help but developed a grudge against all of you!" Meilin, or Meimei was running out of breath, and started to pant heavily. She sighed, as her sister's voice started to speak again,"Then finally, the Parks came in and at last Meilin was adopted. But you know what, they made everything for her even worse! Mrs Park died from heart cancer and her husband now would drunk himself with his own selfishness and is giving nothing to my poor baby sister!"
Her winding up fist and tightening brows scared the living soul out of Renjun, but he couldn't do anything at the moment. Meilin's eyes now turned red, bloody red. "How come she got the bad apples after waiti
