Lids drooped over his drowsy eyes as he tried to look at the reflection of himself on the mirror. He grunted when he realised that the mirror was layered by steam from his hot shower and slackly rubbed it off with his palm. One of his hands reached over for his toothbrush and tooth paste while he the silver tap. Chenle never understood how he was still sleepy after a warm shower in the morning, his shoulders still ached from shuffling to the very far left side of the bed (trying his best to give Renjun most of the space since the older had exams the day before also before that), and his arms were as cranky as his grandfather's first bike.

In the effort of taking out his Close Up toothpaste, his hand knocked over one of Renjun's beauty products. He couldn't help but release another groan as the older's lotion roll off the counter. To this day, Chenle still doesn't know how much bottles of those scented products Renjun owned, maybe there were still more in there room. He never really cared, but was still annoyed.

He shuffled his way downstairs, greeted by a heavenly scent that flew across his nose, pulling him to a seat by the counter top. There was prepared a plate of savory fried rice, just the thing he needed before starting his day.

To his surprise, Renjun stood near the sink, flashing a shy smile. Chenle mouthed a small thank you, picking up the newspaper near him and scanned through the columns. He lifted a spoon-full of the homemade breakfast, stuffing his face greedily. The taste of excessive saltiness sting his tongue, sorely turning it white. As luscious as it smell, maybe the taste wasn't that great.

He could feel his eyes watering, choking in the effort of holding himself back from spitting the spoonful. Renjun raised a brow, that made him curse in the inside.

"Is it good?" Questioned the older, having the most affected look plastered on his face.

Chenle abruptly shook his head, mouth all stuffed, "It's really good!" He exaggerated, jamming another spoon inside his over filled mouth.

"Really? I think I had put a bit too much salt...I thought a spoonful wasn't enough."

The younger couldn't help but gag.

"You sure you can finish that-"

"Of course! It's the best fried rice I've ever tasted in my life!" He wanted to kill himself for lying.

Renjun's eyes glimmered in delight, and rushed to the seat in front of the blonde. "Is that so?" His voice was overwhelmed and Chenle couldn't help but melt at how astound the older looked. "Then I'll try to cook it as much as possible!"

Chenle was sure this time Renjun heard him snort. The red head gave him a funny look, but Chenle shook his head as fast as possible, having the most pleased grin. Sometimes lying is a way of getting away thing.

"So, what are you reading?" Renjun peered from the other side of the counter, hovering the newsletter on Chenle's right hand.

Swallowing the two scoops of fried rice was hard enough for him, "Just about this High school student, who had unfortunately died in a fire drill." Chenle read. "Happened yesterday, in Jilin."

Renjun started reading the paragraph, "Zhang Weixin, a 15 year old who was killed by a fire that burnt down Jilin's High School down town..."

"He was the only person to die in the fire, that's unlucky." Commented the younger.

"Zhang Weixin..." Renjun whispered. He them muttered the name, again and again.

Chenle glanced at the older, who had his finger placed againts his chin. "You know him?"

Renjun blinked, "I don't think so, but the name seem so familiar."

The other then suggested maybe he had just heard that name before, and the older ended up agreeing with a preposterous nod.

"I almost forgot," Renjun suddenly said, "We're going fishing today!" He sang, spazzing his arms in the air.

Speechless, Chenle stared at him, all motionless.

"You know, fishing at the beach." Renjun cleared, gesturing the breezy waves and pretending to hold a fishing rod.

"Yeah I know," Chenle laughed, "But fishing?"

"What's so bad about fishing? It's fun!" Renjun burst off his chair, shaking Chenle frantically. "C'mon, you better come! You can't disagree with me."

Chenle grunted, "Fine."

Renjun squealed, clapping his hands delightfully. A smile smeared across his lips, then beaming his dazzling two set of teeth. "Then you better finish that quickly. I'll be changing!" He zoomed upstairs, leaving Chenle alone with his dried plate of breakfast.

He picked up the ceramic plate and tipped the food in the rubbish bin. He didn't want to die, eating a spoon of it was like drinking the whole Pacific Ocean. As long as Renjun doesn't spot him, he's okay.

"You sure we can fish in the beach? It's not that safe-"

"Don't worry, Mr Lee will be there with us! And best of all, why would someone want to go the beach on such a dark day?"

Renjun was right. Today was really gloomy. Even if 8:00AM showed on their clocks, the clouds outside seemed to be hiding the Sun from their faces. The sky was also dull, all grey and miserable. Chenle stared at his fishing rode that gripped to his hand, while the other held on to a bucket.

He frowned, "Looks like it's going to rain."

Renjun's eyes shrink, his excitement dying from before, "Yeah." He cheerlessly whispered, dropping his shoulders.

He looked out into the sea, the wide space seemed to be calling him, as the waves crashed onto the shore and then carried back into the deep, dark ocean.

"But look on the bright side," Renjun then muttered, "There's a bigger catch for us. Fishes come closer to the shore when the weather's darker."

Chenle glanced at the older. He really should just go with what he had planned. Now's not the time to flip Renjun's hopes upside down. Chenle knew this little trip wasn't sudden, he knew Renjun was just trying to prove to him that he was good enough for him. The younger could see how Renjun did this, just to win his heart.

The pair set up their gear, and in the next few mi
