Heaven or Earth?

Aaron was badly hurt in his leg, and he had external injuries all over his body. He was bruised really badly all over. He was in critical condition. Gui had lost a large amount of blood and her right arm was in bad shape. She also had a concussion and wasn’t waking. A nurse looked in Aaron’s pocket and found his wallet. It had his home phone number on it.

The nurse dialed the number. "Hello, Mrs. Yan?" Mrs. Yan answered, "Yes?" The nurse informed her, "Your son is in critical condition at the hospital. He was with a Ms. Wu, who is also badly hurt. Will you please come?" Mrs. Yan said in shock, "Of course!" Mrs. Yan hung up the phone. Mrs. Yan quickly took action. "Husband! Hurry! Aaron and Gui Gui are in the hospital, badly hurt! We must call Gui’s parents right away!" She said. Mr. Yan caught the note of urgency in her words. "Ok. Let’s go!" He said. They drive to the hospital while notifying Gui’s parents. They all arrive around the same time and enter the hospital together.

Mrs. Yan said, "Hello, I’m looking for Aaron Yan." The nurse replied, "He’s in room 438." Mrs. Yan said, "Thank you." They all go to his room, and see him covered in bandages. He was sleeping, and didn’t notice that there were people there. They go find the nurse and found out what his condition was. They learned that Aaron was in critical condition, but he was stable.

~Gui~

Gui was unconscious, and hadn’t woken up once. She had lost a large amount of blood, and she needed to have a blood transfusion. The problem is, she had type AB RH negative, one of the rarest blood types in the world. There was no donor, and she couldn’t survive much longer without a donor.

~heaven~

Gui is in a white gown, and is laying down. She wakes up, rubs her eyes, and looks around. "Where am I? Why is it all white?" She asked. She looks everywhere about her, and all she sees is white light. Just then, she sees a door in front of her. She is curious, and starts toward it. In the middle, she is stopped by invisible voices inside of her. "Is that the doorway to heaven? Should I go through? Am I dead? Will I ever see Aaron again? Should I keep walking?" She thought fearfully. Just then, she hears a voice behind her. "Are you sure you want to go through, dear?" Gui turns around, and sees the lady owner that had sold her the wishing necklace. But she was different. She was in white, and had an ethereal look about her. She walked slowly toward Gui, and radiated peace and serenity. It was as if her very aura was pure. Gui became calmer just looking at her.

Gui was confused. "Who are you?" The lady said, "You know me. I am that lady owner that gave you your necklace." Gui was convinced that she was not who she said she was. "No. I mean who are you?" The lady informed her, "I am the gatekeeper of the gate to heaven." Gui understood then. "Oh. Then am I dead?" "You are." The lady confirmed. "Oh. Then does that mean I’ll never live again?" asked Gui Gui. The lady asked, "Do you remember that wishing necklace that you received from me?" Gui responded, "Yes." The lady said, "I can only help you if your wish enables you to stay in the world. If not, then you will come with me." Gui opened her necklace and took out her wish. She unfolded it, so that the Lady could see:

''I wish that I will find my true love and we will love each other and be together forever.''

The Lady looked at the wish, and smiled. "Your wish is perfect. If you had changed even one word, then that might not have worked, and you would have to come with me. But since your word choice is good, then you will be allowed to stay for a while longer." Gui was ecstatic. "Thank you so much. I won’t forget you." The lady smiled. "Enjoy your time, and treasure it."

~In the hospital~

The doctor said, "We’re losing her! Get more air into her. We’re losing her!" *Beeeeeeppp* The nurse said worriedly, "Her heart’s stopped!" The doctor ordered, "Shock her." *Dian* The nurse said hopelessly, "It didn’t work." The doctor commanded, "Try again!" The nurse argued, "It’s not going to work. She’s already dead." The doctor grew angry. "How dare you talk back to me? Do what I say!" Just then, the sound of a flatline heartbeat is gone, replaced by a steady heartbeat. Shocked, the doctor and nurse look at the monitor. Gui Gui is alive!

~Aaron’s dream~

Gui Gui was lying on the ground, motionless. Then, she woke up and looked around her. A door appeared, and she seemed to be walking toward it. Then, a lady dressed in white appeared. She was talking to Gui Gui, and then after they talked, Gui Gui suddenly disappeared. Aaron panicked, "Gui Gui, no! Where are you going? Come back!" He tried to run towards her, but he couldn’t move. Aaron yelled, "NO! Gui Gui! Don’t leave me!" Just then, he woke up.

Aaron said, "Gui Gui!" He looked around and saw that he was in the hospital. He was confused. "I guess that was a dream. But it seemed so real. Does that mean that Gui Gui is dead? If she is, then that means that I have no reason to live anymore. Please, God, don't take her away from me. I still need to tell her my feelings. I don't want her to leave me." Aaron thought.
