Date Impromptu

Falling for the Clumsy Sun

*Note: I know some of you would be wondering why I basically made Solar a mute so here's my answer. First off, she's kind of no. 1 in as the noisiest in their group or one of the loudest so I wanted to troll around and see how you'll would react to her being quiet as a character.

"Beauty isn't always measured by one's appearance."

Still at the wedding boutique building, Eric had Yongsun waiting in the lobby while he called his mother. He tried calling two times and even on the first try, he knew very well that his mother wasn't going to answer her phone so he just kept on trying. It must've been around the seventh try when she finally answered his call.

'Eoh? Adeul-ah? Why are you calling?' His mother asked with a sickening sweet tone.

He sighed. "Mom, what are you doing living Yongsun-ssi alone? Where are you?"

'Ei? I didn't live Yongsun alone. The girls were there when your father called me.' She answered.

"Mom. You always use dad when you get sneaky. What are you doing, really?" Eric asked firmly.

'Aigoo~. Is my adeul upset? Wae?'

"Mom. Seriously. Are you even coming back to get us?" He asked giving up on her antics.

'Omo. Didn't umma tell you? She and appa is going to attend an important meeting today. Speaking of which, umma has to go now. Take care of my beautiful, daughter. Bye~.'

"Wait! Mom!" The phone call ended before he could stop her. "Aish! Jjinja!"

He loves his mother dearly but in times like this, he has to wonder how he got stuck with her in the first place.

"Why do I even bother?" He asked and then felt someone tugging on his shirt. "Eoh? Yongsun-ssi?"

"Is eomonim coming to pick us up?" She asked.

"Aniyo. I guess, will be having lunch together. So, what do you want to eat?" He asked hoping that them spending some alone time wouldn't bother her.

"Tteokbokki? Bibimbapp?" The way she signed made him smile like a fool for no reason. Without paying attention to his expression, she continued to sign even more excited this time. "Oh! I actually used to go to this tteokbokki place when I was in highschool. And their kimbap is really delicious expecially when they make it with kimchi fried rice. And also ahjumma always made extra for me everytime I..."

Her sudden burst of excitement was cut off as her mood grew sullen and Eric felt for her.

Seeing as how excited she got over this place, he thought it would be great ideato bring her there just to cheer her up.

"Is it near here?" He asked her.

She answered with a confused expression.

"The tteokbokki place. Is it near here?"

"Aniyo. From here, its the third bus stop from here and walk around for five minutes. W-waeyo?"

"Better you lead the way. Come on, let's go." He said holding her hand.

"Eh?"

He just smiled at her as they walked to the bus stop.

They didn't have to wait long for the bus to arrive but they had to be active and fast. As it turns out, they happened upon the second wave of rush hour and people were bustling and hustling waiting for the bus.

"How about we take a taxi instead?" Eric suggested.

Yongsun shook her head and signed. "I don't really know the marks so we might get lost if we used a taxi."

"Ah. Okay. Oh! There it is." He exclaimed as the bus came into view.

They were glad they were first in line but they still had to be quick because rude people were still unavoidable.

The bus stopped right next to where Yongsun stood and she quickly pulled Eric as she got up. They were lucky that they fair is paid while getting off the bus otherwise, they'd be stalling the line and the others would be having a go at them.

"Oh! There, last seat." Eric pointed towards the solo seat with a bar handle next to it and she immediately went to sit down while he stood next to her.

It took five minutes for the bus to reach the second stop and there were a lot of people getting out but were replaced with much more. Yongsun saw an elderly get up first and since noone else offered their seat, she got up and waved the halmoni over.

"Aigoo~. Thank you, dear." The old lady said as she sat down comfortably.

Eric couldn't help himself from being proud of her. Offering his hold, she refused and instead took hold on the dangling handle.

"Omo. Are you two a couple?" The halmoni couldn't help but ask.

Eric put his goofy smile on and nodded making the halmoni laugh.

"Omo. Omo. You look like a fool in love, youngman. But you are lucky to have a beautiful and kind lady as your wife."

"Neh. Kamsahamnida, halmoni." He said.

When he turned to face Yongsun, she just looked away but not until he saw a glimpse of blush on her face. That somehow made him smile some more. But then the rest of the crowd started settling in and Eric saw Yongsun slowly getting shoved.

"Yongsun-ah. Come here." He said wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her to take hold of the handle bar.

Looking at their position right now, Eric would've been giving Yongsun a back hug had he no need to hold on to the handles himself for balance.

"Omo~. Yoondo-ah, can you lend hand phone to this halmoni?" The halmoni who accepted Yongsun's seat asked with a giddy smile plastered on her face.

He didn't think to ask why and just handed his phone openly to the old lady. She didn't use the phone for that long and returned it to him the minute she was done.

While nearing their drop off, the bus came to an abrupt stop surprising everyone. Eric already had his hand off the handrail and same with Yongsun so when the bus stopped, he had to be quick and pulled her to him before she could slam on the handrail and hurt herself.

"Are you okay?" He asked after steadying himself.

She just nodded and tugged on his hand asking him to let go.

"Driver-nim. You did well!" The cheeky halmoni commented and some of the passengers laughed and clapped. Only then did the bus driver see what was happening and laughed heartily.

Eric had half the mind to join them until he realized that they were the reason. He then gently let the beet-red face Yongsun go and held her hand as they passed through the other passengers.

"Aigoo! You guys make a great match!" The bus driver teased and they just bowed shyly.

Once they got off, Eric found himself being dragged by Yongsun. At first, he didn't really mind since their hands were linked together but after almost tripping on a protruding brick and bumping on a wall, he had to stop her.

"Yongsun-ssi, wait. Stop. Stop. Stop." He said panicking after almost hitting his face on a post.

And like the bus, she came to a sudden stop and he bumped into her almost losing their balance and having her fall flat on the sidewalk until he hugged her close.

"Be careful." He said and slowly let her go. "Why are you in a hurry?"

With no reaction and just her standing frozen in that spot, he walked around to face her but Yongsun made a quick turn away.

"Eoh? What's wrong?" Eric asked trying to face her but the girl keeps turning away. "Hey. What's going on?" He asked one more time and this time, he held her gently by the shoulders but her face was still turned away from him with her hair covering it.

"Yah. Why is your face so red? Are you sick?"

'Aish! He's being annoying!' Yongsun couldn't help but blush some more when he brushed her hair from her face and pressed his hand on her forehead.

"Yah. Why is your face so red? Are you sick?"

She wasn't the type to explode in frustration so holding back, she gently pushed him away and signed something quick before leaving him to follow her.

"I'm fine. Please stop fussing. Let's go."

"Eh?" She heard him react but she already was a couple feet away and didn't try back. "At least wait for me."

'Aish! Why did I agree to this again?' She asked herself and her answer came a second later with her stomach rumbling.

Wrapping her arms around her stomach to suppress the sound, she looked around to check if anyone else heard her. She almost sighed in relief until she heard a chuckle coming from behind. Biting her lip and praying it was someone else, she slowly turned to see her fiancee with his lips tightly pressed but with his eyes curved in a different expression.

Not meaning to, she pouted and gave him a soft smack on his chest. "Hajima."

"i'm sorry. A-are we there yet?" He calmed himself trying not to laugh. 'She's so cute.'

Yongsun looked around and to her right, she saw the tteokbokki place she missed going to and pointed at it.

"Eoh? Strange. I think I might've gone here once before." Eric blurted out of the blue and held her hand and entered the busy establishment.

'Aw. It doesn't look like there are any tables open.' Yongsun thought to herself as she craned her neck.

"Welcome customers!" A voice familiar to her greeted them. "We have more tables at the back, sir/ma'am."

"Neh. Kamsahamnida." Her fiancee thanked the staff for them and led the way to the table.

Just for the sake of not being recognized, Yongsun stuck close to Eric and ducked her head. The last table only had a two seater and though she knew it was going to be awkward seating together, she thought it would be best since she had no wants of being recognized.

"Okay, what do you want to eat?" He asked scooting in.

She looked at the menu and saw that like the exterior and interior of the canteen like restaurant, it had changed. The old menu was kept while additional new ones surrounded it. She wondered if there were others who still ordered the old ones.

"Kimchi-kimbap, tteokbokki and bibimbap." She signed. "And peach juice please!"

Eric nodded. "Uhm, I don't know much about the food here so I'll have the same. I'll be back in a bit."

While waiting for their food, Eric tried his best not to be awkward and ask questions to get to know her better.

"So, the girls. How long have you known them?" Eric asked.

Yongsun looked confused for a second before getting herself together. 'Get it together, yeba!' She was too out off it trying to avoid his gaze with the limited space between them.

"I-uhm, Byul and I got together when she was a freshman. I was her buddy and we hit it off real well. We actually started a two-person cheer group. Then Whee-in and Hyejin but she like being called Hwasa, joined us when they were in their second year of middle school. At first, Byul and I didn't want to add anymore because we wanted to keep it to ourselves but we saw potentials in those two and they were kind of like us so we had them join."

The memories made her feel nostalgic and smile just by recounting it. "Ever since then, they stuck by my side."

"They sound like great friends then. I'm glad to have met them." He didn't know why that came out of his mouth but he was glad it did because it made her laugh.

"I'm not sure you are. On that last past, I mean." She signed and giggled.

"Eh." He deadpanned and she couldn't help but laugh out loud.

None of the other customers seemed to mind her laughter and even Eric couldn't help but show his wide grin just watching her.

'Wow. It's good she still can laugh heartily.'  He thought to himself just enjoying the sight of her merry moment.

"Aiyoo. It's nice to see a couple as happy as you are." An ahjussi came to give their order. "Here you go. You must've waited long. Aiyoo~."

"Aniyo, ahjussi. Kwenchanayo." Eric said whilst helping place the food on the table. "Woah~. This looks so good."

"Aiyoo! Not only does it look good, it even taste good." The ahjussi said.

"Eoh. You're quite a smooth talker, ahjussi." Eric teased being friendly with the man.

"Well," the ahjussi wiggled his eyebrows and grinned. "But anyway, it's the truth and with a beautiful lady next to you, it'll taste even better. Enjoy."

While Eric was busy getting friendly with the ahjussi, Yongsun made sure to hide her face and just show enough so not to seem rude.

"Woah~. Do you think this is enough for us?" He asked her, thankfully he hadn't notice her demeanor.

"Neh. We can have some more if you want." She signed and opened her bibimbap mixing every ingredient while he watched and copied her process.

"You don't  seem like you haven't been here in a long time."

Yongsun just blushed and smiled placing a spoonful of the bibimbap and lightly 'shoving' it to his mouth. Seeing as how bad he is at mixing the food, she swapped hers to his.

"Uhm! Wow. I've had bibimbap before but not like this." Eric praised and that made her happy.

While he enjoyed the bibimbap, Yongsun took it upon herself to take a slice of kimbap and dip it in the tteokbokki sauce before giving it to him for taste.

"Oh. That's a new one." His reaction wasn't what Yongsun has expected but he smiled and tried it again. "Woah. Now I know why you like coming here."

"Do you like it?" She asked.

Eric shoved one more in his mouth and gave her his moon smile. "Jjeongmal jjang."

With that, Yongsun found herself eating peacefully and happily. For Eric, he wasn't feeling like eating as much and just slowly munched on his food but making sure that they finish the same time.

"I'm too full. I think I ate all of it." She signed sluggishly leaning on the chair.

"Ani. I think I did." He lied not wanting her to be self-concious about it. "How about we rest for a bit and then take a walk to burn it out?"

She just gave her a thumbs up making him chuckle.

"You're cute." He said poking her puffed cheeks.

'M-mwoyah. What's with this guy?' Yongsun felt her face flush and not wanting him to again, she got up and excused herself to use the washroom.

After using the washroom, Yongsun felt like being hit by a wave of nostalgia. Not even thinking about it, she started wandering the hallway and found herself walking out the back door that lead to the restaurant's mini garden where most of the herbs and some of their vegetables come from.

'I guess, six years is very long time.' She thought as she looked around and noticed how things have changed. 'Woah~. Umma's gotten with her gardening. Tomatoes, paprika, radish... She's added a lot. Oh? Wah~ she's even added a wall garden.'

"Excuse me, miss. You're not supposed to be here."

Her beautiful walk on memory lane ended and quickly hiding her face, she ran out bumping shoulders with the stranger. Thinking that she was being followed, she only passed by Eric telling him to take care of the bill before meeting her outside.

"Eh?"
