Everything Green

Falling for the Clumsy Sun

Having spent most of her time with her husband alone, Yongsun grew very selfish and greedy barely wanting to share his attention.

Arriving at the restaurant an ago ago to meet Eric's childhood friend, Yongsun felt out of place as the two kept talking to each other and even felt like she just wanted to end the dinner grab her husband, take him home and cuddle him for herself. She wasn't ignored though.

No.

In fact, Nicole in the midst of Eric ordering their food, she started asking her questions to try to get to know her better and they did found out some similarities such as being born in the same year; having the same first syllables of their name; and their love for their dogs. Finding out their birth orders, Nicole was a little shocked to hear that Yongsun was a few months older than her and that she'd thought she herself is older by a year or two.

After that, Eric and Nicole would talk more but they didn't exclude Yongsun out of the conversation (not completely), they'd turn to her to get her opinion on some matters and then move on to the next topic. Eric would give her his attention wiping some crumbs off her lips or feeding her but even though he'd do that, he would still keep his focus on the conversation and that made Yongsun a little irritated because some of the food would spill and luckily for her hands that she could catch them quick enough before it stained her shirt or dress.

Although she knew that she was a bit at fault for not initiating any conversation in the first place, she opted to keep to herself and just observe the two. As she did just that, she noticed something in the air as her husband and his bestfriend talked. It was faint at first but the more she watched the two of them talk, the more she saw things clearly.

Is it possible?.. She asked herself adn gasped inwardly. Watching Nicole's gestures and mannerism, it made her feel stupid as to how long it took her to realize that their was something between the two of them. At least, at first she thought it was the two of them until she realized that her husband seemed not to reciprocate what it was that she saw in Nicole.

With that discovery, Yongsun wanted so much to just grab her husband and cling on to him like a koala on a tree but as Nicole is his best friend, she didn't very much not want any of them know of her new found infomation and the fact that she didn't want to be rude.

Right after dinner, and though Nicole wanted to stay a little longer to enjoy some dessert, she had to go back to the house they were staying immediately because one of her dance instructors messaged her that they had an emergency meeting that'll start in less than thirty minutes so she said her thanks and goodbyes and left. Eric and Yongsun (who seemed a little too happy that she is leaving) wanted to send her off but she said no and told them to stay for the dessert she had ordered for them.

When dessert came, Eric was surprised to see his favorite chocolate caramel pudding on the table.

"Woah~ That friend really knows my favorite." He said and that somehow made Yongsun choke on her juice.

"Oh! You okay?" Eric asked wiping her face and rubbing her back.

"E-eoh. I just drank too fast." And I also know what your favorites are... She answered and gave him a smile trying to keep that green devil inside her from coming out.

Eric nodded and then gave her a bite of his pudding.

After dessert, the couple talked and rested for a few minutes before deciding to leave and take a walk to ease their food filled tummies.

Half way to the corner where they saw a taxi waiting for passengers, Eric noticed that Yongsun's strange silence and how she just clung onto him as if she's about to lose him.

"Yeobo?" Yongsun looked up and he cupped one side of her face. "What are you thinking?"

She shook her head and placed it back on his shoulder. Eric didn't ask twice thinking she was just tired so they hurried to the taxi that took them back to their temporary home.

Waking up, Eric felt his left side lighter which only meant his wife is up and awake busying herself with whatever she is doing. Getting up, he made the bed and went straight to the bathroom for his morning duties. Fifteen minutes later, he came out fresh and dressed before heading downstairs to join his wife.

"Good morning, wifey." He greeted with a back hug and she felt her lean in for a few seconds before unwrapping his arms to pack some stuffs in a cooler.

That's... a first? He thought to himself surprised for his wife to do pull out like that.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Packing snacks." Yongsun answered quietly with her back still him as she continued to pack some more snacks for their trip.

That hit Eric a little strange. Something's wrong.

Holding her by the shoulder, he made her face him and placed a hand on her forehead. "You feel a little warm. Do you feel sick?" He asked and caressed her cheeks.

Yongsun sighed to his touch and shook her head. "Ani. I just didn't sleep much." She answered and he felt like his energy was being drained for no reason.

"We'll have the trip when you get better then. I'll just call Tom and-"

Eric was cut off short from finishing his sentence when she held his hand and hugged him instead. "Andwae. I want to go and I'll just sleep in the car anyway."

"But-" He heard her whine a little and he just couldn't sway her decision knowing how stubborn she can get. "Arasso."

When Tom arrived, the two had him in for some tea and biscuits before they finally went on the road for their two hour drive to Wiltshire. With Yongsun quietly sleeping on her husband's shoulder, Tom couldn't help but keep looking back from the rearview mirror to check on the couple. Bothered with how Yongsun had greeted him back earlier, he inquired about the matter of why she had been so unenergetic and quiet that morning. Eric explained then that she was just feeling a little under the weather and although they should've pushed back their mini trip, she insisted on going so he had no choice but have her sleep in the car instead.

Five minutes before their arrival at the site, Yongsun woke up and greeted the two which made them have a secret exchange of looks. After that, she just stared out the window until they arrived.

"I'll wait here. You two enjoy your date." Tom said and caught Yongsun's hand before the couple could go and join the tour.

"Hmm?"

"Dear. My day would be perfect if I could just see your more-radiant-than-the-sun smile." The older man placed his other hand on top of hers covering it fully as he and Eric, who stood on the side, watched and waited for her reaction.

Seconds later, maybe finding his words a little cheesy, the young missus brought out a small laugh followed by a radiant smile for the first time that day.

"Ah~." Tom started placing his hands over his heart and said. "And now my day is just perfect!" He exaggerated earning more giggles from the girl.

"You are cheesy charmer Tom-samchon." Yongsun said. "Thank you."

The driver smiled and waved the couple off. "Go now. The tour will be starting soon."

Eric held out his arm and Yongsun took it still high from her laughter. He looked back and mouthed his thanks to the ahjussi who nodded and stepped back inside the car.

When the tour started, Eric couldn't help but keep his focus on Yongsun instead of the tour guide, being mindful on his actions and words just to make sure that he doesn't say or do anything that would bring that smile back into a frown. Quietly (and though slightly creepy in a sense), he watched her as she skipped happily following the group.

"Oppa." She called for his attention and he hummed in response. Yongsun sighed and wrapped herself on his arms. "Everything here is just so... so green and peaceful. I feel so relaxed."

Eric breathed in the fresh air himself and said, "You're right. It just feels like I'm free from everything."

Not a second later, he felt her arms loosen a little and he looked down to see her looking at him with that somber smile again. With his left hand, he cupped the side of her face and asked what was wrong. She didn't say anything for a couple of seconds and just leaned on his touch and said, "It's nothing. Come on. I think we're falling behind from the others."

"Young-" He couldn't continue what he wanted to say because the guide caught their attention and asked them to stay in the group not wanting any from her herd to stray.

Sometime later, with the twenty minutes free time given to them, Yongsun watched with gritted teeth as a few asian girls approached her husband and started taking his time from her asking him a various question. And as obvious as the dark clouds rising from the sky, the girls didn't bother to mask their flirtations with him but it seems he doesn't seem to recognize the act. On the other hand, another dark cloud is brewing in the form of his wife.

Not being able to take one more fake giggle from the girls, Yongsun marched towards them and called out for her husband in a way she's never done before. "Jagiya, mwohae?"

Eric's head sprung up his face flustered and confused. "Y-yeobo?" He shook his head and turned to the girls,"Everybody, this is my wife, Yongsun. Hon, this is Emma, Josie and Lola."

"Hi." She greeted trying to be civil and nice.

They greeted back but it was obvious that they were bothered by her presence.

Eric then turned back to the three and said, "Anyway, just follow this maps and if you have any troubles, you can just look it up on this site." He said showing them the website and handing Emma back her phone. He then said his goodbye wrapping his arm around his wife's waist and leaving the three in their spot.

"What were you talking about?" Yongsun asked doing her best to keep the green monster at bay.

"They wanted to know some nice places to visit in London. I recommended some." He answered nonchalantly.

"Oh." One more minute with them and they would've asked you to recommend the house. That thought made her shake her head.

Noticing this, Eric stopped and pulled her closer to him. "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"

She just smiled at him and shook her head. "Can we take a picture here?" She asked and he gladly complied even though he badly wanted to focus on her well being.

Posing cutely, the couple took some shots together and then Eric decided to get more of her pictures. At one point, right after taking a perfect picture of her being carefree and relaxed, one of the girls approached them, him specifically.

"Oh. Hi. Did you forget something?" He asked and made a quick glimpse to Yongsun who just gave him an awkward smile.

"Uhm. No. Not really. I just wanted to say thanks for earlier. " Emma said and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek. "Bye."

Shocked, he panicked and swallowed hard to push the lump down his throat at the idea that Yongsun, his ever so kind wife, had seen what just happened. Turning slowly, he saw his wife's back him and for a second there, he was relieved but then the though that she might've seen what had happened scared him.

"Mr. & Mrs. Nam! Please join us for the continuation of the tour!" Mrs. Jane, the tour guide called for them.

Eric watched as Yongsun turned around only to see that somber smile back on her face. With that, he knew that she had seen Emma kissing him.

Taking courage, he held out his hand and even if she had held his hand, he knew all to well that she was just doing it because he was asking her to and not because she wanted to.

When the tour (more like history lecture) ended, the rest of the crowd gathered to their bus while the two headed for their car.

Noticing how the wind grew stronger and the sky darker, Eric took his jacket off and had Yongsun to wear it. She didn't say anything and just slipped it on with Eric holding her hand after and the other on the pocket.

Upset, Yongsun simply did what Eric had her do and put the jacket on. She felt him take her hand after she had it on and not really in any mood, she just let him.

Eoh? What's this? Yongsun took the thing out and felt her limit push through as she read what was written.

                                     Call me ;)   +1 000 x8x 09x1

                                                                               - Emma <3

She stopped making Eric stop in the process as well.

"Yongsun? What's wrong?" He asked and swallowing her tears, she pulled her hand away and took the jacket off, and shoved it to Eric's chest.

Shock registered on Eric's face as she has and is never been one to act in such a manner and for a second, she reflected his expression until she felt the texture of the paper in her hand that reminded her why she did it in the first place. Then, it wasn't just the jacket but also the piece of paper was shoved into his chest before she walked out on him.
