This is the story of a so-called perfect family. The Kim family is known to be one of the idealistic family in the city. Mr Kim is a businessman working for the government under the Ministry of Civil Defence while Mrs Kim is a beautiful housewife that every man in the alley had eyes on her. The couple had 3 children, 1 elder son and a pair of fraternal twins - a boy and a girl. The age difference between the eldest and the youngest are 5 years apart. Their relationship between each other are good and the whole family love each other.

They were only perfect in the eye of the public. At home, it was a 360 degree turn. The Kim family were an unhappy family. You must know that Mrs Kim is a good lady and so does the children. The problem lies with Mr Kim. He was the reason why their home is a living hell. Every night, he would come home drunk and started to beat his wife violently for no apparent reason. Mrs Kim will try not to cry out loud because it will bring suspicion to the neighbours which might bring the family name down. It

Another reason, was to prevent the children from waking up in their sleep. That turns out to be a failure because the eldest child had already seen it with his own eyes. Instead, he makes sure that his siblings don’t see what was going. If one of them wakes up and ask, he would say that the ‘Lady in White’ is roaming around the house to keep them safe. Eventually, they will just go back to sleep. It was a secret deal between him and his father. Any word goes out to the public, Taehyung will expect a beating.

The very next day felt like nothing happened. Mrs Kim will just cook breakfast as usual and serve Mr Kim his usual black coffee. The children will sometimes stare at their mother, wondering where does she get the new bruises on her body. Taehyung had to prevent their curiosity by constantly feeding them and preparing them to go to school. His eyes, however, observe the relationship between his parents. They never talked to each other. Not a thank you nor asking how is your day. No kisses or hugs. Just silence. The day will start as Mrs Kim had to Mr Kim out of the house while he was on his phone. Soon, the cycle repeats all over again at night.

In company events, the Kims will attend as a family in dashing and modest outfit. They have the people’s eyes and the whispers from mouth to ear. The adults were amazed at how discipline and close the Kim Children are as they are always behaved in a formal event, unlike their own children, who were making lots of troubles. Taehyung knows it is the only way to keep out of trouble at home as they not dare mingle with other children and let the member of the public say good things about them. Mrs Kim will always show courtesy as she stands beside her husband while making conversation with the other ‘important’ people. Little did the public know that Mrs Kim have been hiding her bruises and scars under her long sleeves and dress.

The days becomes weeks, the weeks turn into months, and the months turn into years. People started to notice something is going on in the Kim household. The twins were already growing up and attended primary school. The age range where children will become curious about everything. Bruises became visible on their mother's face and the twins had to wonder why she had them and not before. They see other children holding hands, hugging and even kissing their parents which led to the twins why their family has no culture of such.

Whenever children become curious about something, they can't keep it to themselves. They hardly see their father unless it is either breakfast or an important event. However, they were afraid of his bad aura. Their mother chooses to remain silent. The only person that they can turn to is Taehyung himself.

Taehyung: Forget about it. Nothing for you to know.

It was the same reply every time they tried to seize an opportunity despite him being either in bad or good mood. It frustrates them especially when other children brag about their parents. The twins don’t remember saying and hearing “I love you” at home. They didn’t understand what is love. Being the cunning twins, they planned to sneak out in the night to find out who is ‘The Lady in White’. It was one of the biggest regret they had.

Right in front of their eyes, they saw their father beating up the eldest son while their mother already laid motionless on the floor. Broken glass bottles were everywhere. The twins just stood there and started crying. It was another mistake made by them as Mr Kim was too drunk, that he walked up the stairs, with broken bottle in his hand, unable to recognised his children.

It was the final cry of the twins in the so-called perfect Kim family.

Never to be heard or seen again.
