Again, the silence. He was slowly getting nervous for silence often indicated she was in a serious state. There never used to be silence between them since they got along so well they always had things to say. And even if they ran out of topics, they will just tease each other and the laughter never stopped. However, lately, all there seems to be is silence.

The clock is ticking and she knows she is running out of time. She really wants to give her answer in person but she is too nervous to even bring up the topic. ‘Relax, Jimin’, she thinks to herself, ‘he waited enough for this…. You owe him this… He doesn't deserve this…’

“Gyeom-a?” Jamie calls his nickname softly, trying to be as gentle as she can.

“Yea?” Yugyeom was so nervous that he was still startled by the sound of his name.

“I have my answer…” Jamie goes straight to her point without wasting any time.

“Answer to what?” Yugyeom was now scared and tried to slip out of the situation.

“Answer to your…. umm… con… confession…”

“Ah I see…” Although he tried to act calm, he couldn't help but shake a little. He even held his breath afraid that every little thing he does will somehow affect her decision.

“I'm sorry Gyeom-a…” Jimin states while avoiding eye contact with him for she was truly apologetic.

“It's fine,” Yugyeom finally states after a period of silence, “I told you before… I don't expect you to feel the same… Thank you for actually considering it though…”

“I’m really really sorry….”

“Why are you sorry? I'm the one who's sorry… sorry for bothering you with this.”

“Don't say that… It's not a bother… I’m the idiot here…”

“Is it because of Jungkook…?” He knows he might sound petty for asking her this and he didn't want to put her in this position, but he really couldn't help but ask her for he thought if he knew the reason, he will finally get closure and move on.

Jamie of course couldn't answer it right away for this wasn't a simple question. She has been wondering and thinking about the question way before it was even asked and even now, she doesn't have a definite answer. Why is love so complicated? And when you add the already complex nature of love with the constantly changing and unfathomable heart of the human, it's bound to be a hot mess. Yet suddenly, Jamie was able to reach a conclusion. At this point, she doesn't know if it's what she truly feels or believes but at least for that moment, she felt sure.

“No.” Jamie stated with such confidence that even Yugyeom was surprised.

“No…? Didn't you like him…?”

“I did… but not I'm not sure if I do anymore…”

“Then…”

“I didn't say no to you because of him… I'm just really tired of this entire situation… I don't know if I still like him, but if all this is going then I don't think liking him is the right thing to do…”

Jamie started to spill all her thoughts and emotions bottled up for a long time. Maybe this is what she needed. To just say her thoughts out loud; to declare them without hesitation and stick with her decision.

“And I didn't accept you because I don't know… I’m not sure if I could give you what you deserve and I definitely didn’t want you to feel like a rebound… you deserve so much better… and saying yes…. Just didn't feel right… I guess I hesitated because I didn't want to lose you…”

Jamie actually thought he will be angry or upset after all this, but to her surprise, Yugyeom was actually very calm and listened without any retort or complaint. However, he seemed to be in deep thought after her confession so she left him alone for she knows he needs space and time.

After a while, Yugyeom returned to the conversation; however, he was more eased and looked like he was in peace.

“Just one more question… I might sound clingy but... have you ever liked me…?” Just from his tone, Jamie knew it took much courage for him to ask.

“And I might sound cheesy, but I’ve always liked you and I always will… Just not in that way…”

With nothing else to say, Yugyeom gave Jamie a small yet warm smile and slowly walked away toward the van. Jamie still had something to say but she was hesitant to stop him for she knows she lacks right to. Yet, her urge overcame her worry and she shouted right before Yugyeom was about to disappear from her sight.

“Gyeom-a, I’m truly sorry but please! Promise me nothing will change!” Jamie suddenly felt afraid. She was scared that this will be the last time they will ever be able stay as close friends. Yugyeom stopped midway for he couldn't ignore Jamie’s desperate voice. He then turned around and slowly walked toward her again.

“Of course… You and BamBam are my best friends; nothing will change that.” Yugyeom assures her.

He knows Jamie isn’t clingy and that she hates giving others burdens. He knows that she doesn’t like to pressure or ask someone to be a certain way, especially stay as her friends. She always like to act strong and happy in front others, other matter how anxious she feels; therefore, for her to ask you to stay means that she really doesn’t want to lose you.

“I didn’t think you were the clingy type… Wow” Yugyeom teased lightly, trying to brighten the mood.

“Be quiet… I’m not clingy…” Jamie snapped back.

“Oh really?” He was glad that she was herself again.

“Go away! They are waiting for you anyway…”

“Wow, our Jimani is definitely back, so fierce!” Yugyeom smiled for the first time, “Okay… Bye J
