Aaron: Rainie?

Rainie: Aaron? Why are you here? You are bleeding!

Aaron looks at his wound: No worries, it’s just a skin deep wound.

Rainie: You could attain infection with an open wound like that. You should know. We need to bandage that.

Aaron: But…

Rainie: My house is nearer than the hospital. Let’s go.

Without giving him the chance to reject, Rainie drags the reluctant Aaron away.

She opens her eyes and what she could see was purely darkness. She struggles to free herself from the ropes that wrapped around her arms and ankle but to no avail.

Gui Gui shouted in fear: Who’s that?! Aaron! Aaron!

No one replied her cries of help. Instead, she felt a delicate touch on her cheek that sent shivers down her spine.

Gui Gui POV: This hand….is cold and icy….with….no feelings……….

It was Sonia.

Sonia POV: I’m sorry girl…I have to kill you. If I don’t…I would be vaporized and it is a terrible state for me… I’m sorry…

She picked up a knife and raised it high enough to cause enough impact during stabbing.

Gui Gui could sense something amiss as the surroundings became too quiet.

Sonia closed her eyes and bring down her hand, with the knife pointing at Gui Gui.

Instantly, a loud shriek fills the room…

------Rainie’s House--------

Rainie: Okay done!

Aaron: Your skills are as good as a paramedic.

Rainie smiled.

Aaron: Thanks a lot.

Rainie: You are welcome. Thank me by telling me your reason for being there, wounded.

Aaron: *Sighs* It’s got to do with the case. Sonia Sui’s case…

Aaron then explains to Rainie about his suspicion of Show being the murderer and how he ended up being chased by the people in the pub. Of course, he left out the part where he converse with Sonia.

Rainie: Hmmm, but how did you know Show was the murderer? *Asks purposely*

Aaron: I….

Rainie: According to my memory, I don’t remember finding any evidence that is about this guy named Show.

Aaron: I….. it’s pure instinct and…luck… *guilty smile*

Rainie POV: So you are also ‘hush=hush’ about this ability…I bet Gui Gui doesn’t know about this. But it’s all right…since she won’t be appearing anymore. Nothing will affect us anymore…

Aaron: Rainie? Rainie?

Rainie snapped out of her wishful thoughts: Sorry, I was thinking of something else. *Smiles*

Aaron stood up: Thanks for the first-aid help. I got to go now.

Rainie: Aaron!

Aaron turned: Yea?

Without warning, Rainie tiptoed and seal his lips with hers.

Aaron widens his eyes and was overwhelmed by this sudden act by Rainie. He quickly snapped back into reality before pushing her away.

Aaron: *wipes his lips with his hand* What are you doing?!

Rainie: I like you….I like you more than Gui Gui does. Trust me.

Aaron: You are crazy!

Rainie: No I’m not! I’m the only one for you!

Aaron: Stop that! Gui Gui is the only person I love. Not you. If I had let you mistaken anything, I’m sorry.

With that, Aaron left hurriedly.

Rainie: Aaron, you will come to me one day…sooner or later. Tomorrow’s case will be your girlfriend….being killed….by a spirit. *laughs*

Gui Gui POV: What happened?

Gui Gui wondered after the loud and high-pitched shriek ended.

Selina kept her silver luminous dagger while walking towards Gui Gui.

She knelt down in front of her.

Gui Gui could sense someone closing up on her.

Gui Gui: Who are you? *fear*

Without any reply, Selina knocked the petrified girl out before carrying her out of the building…

-------The next day----------

Aaron walked towards the mortuary office and just when he was about to unlock the door, he was surprised to find it ajar.

He crept careful and quietly into the office, preparing to attack any intruders. After all, he would always be the first person to reach the office.

Suddenly, he heard someone groaning in pain. He turned and saw Gui Gui lying on the sofa.

Aaron: Gui Gui? *rushed towards her* What happened?

Gui Gui opened her eyes slowly and looked at Aaron, puzzled.

Gui Gui: Aaron? Where am I?

Aaron: You are at the mortuary. Why are you here?
Gui Gui: I don’t know…

Gui Gui told Aaron about last night and Aaron was very puzzled.

Aaron POV: Threatening call? Distorted voice? Cold and Icy hand? Loud shriek?

Gui Gui: There was a mysterious person. I think she saved me before knocking me out.

Aaron: How did you know it’s a she?

Gui Gui: I could smell her scent…just before she knocked me out.

Aaron: But….why did she knock you out?

Gui Gui: I don’t know…but I can sense that she meant no harm. She was different compared to the cold and icy hand…

All these absurd things that Gui Gui met makes Aaron wonder…. There were a lot of questions burning in him and most of these questions had got to do with the case and Sonia. He felt uneasy and vexed as no one could answer these questions except himself.

Rainie pushes the door happily and enters into the office. However, her elated mood soon became cloudy and dark.

Rainie POV: Gui Gui….?! How….how did she….?

Controlling her disappointed and angry emotions, she walked towards Aaron and Gui Gui.

Aaron ignored her.

Rainie: Aaron, did you leave this behind yesterday? *shows him a key chain* I found it in my house.

Gui Gui: You guys were…together last night?
