"Can't believe I had to accompany you to send your damned bike for repair," Naeun grunted as she shut the front door.

"Hey, don't insult my handsome Ducati."

"Handsome??" Naeun shot Bomi a judging look. "Seriously, you're as weird as Eunji unnie."

"Oh please, at least I don't call my bike Chorongie, unlike your number 1 fan," Bomi retorted as she placed the bottles of soju on the table. "Please stop me if I get too drunk later. I have a business to run at night."

"Yeah, an illegal one."

"Well yeah, that's because I'm actually doing my job, unlike that certain someone who just got fired."

Naeun scowled and gave Bomi a light punch on her shoulder. "."

They sat on the floor with their legs outstretched. Bomi grabbed a cushion from the sofa and placed it under her head as she laid comfortably on the carpet.

"You're not gonna sleep are you?" Naeun asked.

"No, I am not. I'm just tired. Let me rest my body for a while."

“Fine... So how are things between Park Chorong and you?”

“I think I’m losing the battle.”

“Battle?”

“Yeah. Eunji’s been trying really hard to win unnie’s heart.”

“You know, when it comes to the matters of the heart, it’s not so much about the amount of effort you put in right? She'll pick you."

Bomi raised her eyebrow. "What makes you think so?"

"I just think she'll pick you."

“Even if unnie does choose me, I don’t think I’m being fair to her. I don’t want to be Naeun 2.0," the brunette joked.

Bomi laughed. "I was just kidding! But if Chorongie unnie really picks me, I want you to be Eunji's saviour."

Naeun arched an eyebrow at Bomi, with a quizzical look plastered on her face. "Why should I?"

"She idolizes you. She'll be less heartbroken if her favourite idol is around to comfort her."

"Guess I should return her the favour," Naeun muttered to herself as she recalled Eunji cheering her up a few nights ago.

"What did you say? I didn't catch that."

"None of your business," Naeun flatly replied. She heaved a long sigh. "Do you really, really like Chorong unnie?"

"I told you I'm not going to be Naeun 2.0," Bomi quipped.

Naeun whacked Bomi on her head, earning a loud 'Ouch' from the older girl.

"You're so aggressive!" Bomi groaned as she rubbed her head. "Are you like that towards Hayoung in bed?"

"Are you seriously asking such a damned question?"

"Nah, I don't want to hear the answer." The brunette sat up and grabbed a bottle of soju. She opened the cap and chugged the alcohol. "Maybe there are other better ways to be close to Chorongie unnie without going for the let's-be-a-couple route."

"Like what?" Naeun snorted, before taking a swig of her soju. "Be her ultimate bestfriend so you can investigate her properly? Or become a ninja at night so that you can snoop around in her house to find evidence?"

"Yeah, that's possible. We've trained long enough to do those sort of things," Bomi responded seriously.

Naeun sighed again and laid her head on the older girl's lap. "I genuinely hope your Chorongie unnie isn't Hayoung 2.0. I wouldn't want my fellow colleague to go through a tragic love like mine." She let out a dry laugh at her poor attempt of her humour.

Bomi felt sympathetic for the blonde, and gently the latter's hair. “Do you really want to be transferred to another department? What if you get the lame department?”

Naeun shrugged. “I don’t know. I don’t care either. I’m just going to sleep my two weeks away.”

“Maybe you should just quit being a cop and continue being a supermodel instead. You get to go to fashion runways and be invited to all those branded fashion events.”

“I’ll think about that later," the blonde responded, squeezing her eyes shut. She reopened her eyes again and bit her bottom lip nervously. “Unnie, there’s actually something I need to confess.”

“What? Please don’t tell me you’re in love with me.”

Naeun rolled her eyes. "Do you want to hear me out or not?”

“Yeah, I’m listening, blondie.”

The blonde sat up and took in a deep breath. "I told someone else that I'm an undercover cop."

Bomi gasped. "You're ing kidding me."

"I'm not," Naeun sighed. "But she's dead now, and she died because of me, unnie. I feel so terrible."

"Hold on... Are you talking about Park Sooyoung?"

Naeun nodded. "After Hayoung let me off, I went to find Sooyoung. I know she genuinely cares for Hayoung, so I told her the truth. I asked her to persuade Hayoung to switch sides. She was mad at me initially for playing with Hayoung's feelings, but I told her I really cared for Hayoung, which is true anyway. So she told me the truth too."

"What did she tell you?"

"You were right about Hayoung, unnie. She joined the organization because of personal vendetta. Her brother was once a member but he was killed by one of Krait's men so Hayoung wanted to avenge his death," Naeun explained. "I don't know what really went down afterwards, Sooyoung only told me she'll try to talk to Hayoung. But she's dead now," Naeun said regretfully with a sigh. "Hayoung's the only one who knows what exactly happened."

"Then what are we supposed to do now? Wait for Hayoung to come to you when she finally decides to switch sides?"

"I'm not sure, unnie. I don't even know if Sooyoung managed to talk to her about it. I guess all you can do now is watch her every move." She took another swig of her soju and continued, "I'm already dropped from the case. There's not much I can do. I'll just support you from the sidelines."

Bomi shoved her middle finger at Naeun as a wide but fake smile appeared on her face. "Thank you, for handing all of your responsibilities to me, your highness," she stated sarcastically. "I wonder how long this case would take. I remember there was a cop who spent 5 years on a triad case. Looks like I'll never get married."

"Oh don't be so dramatic," Naeun sighed. "I'll keep a look out for you from afar."

Bomi hummed in response. Both the girls' faces had already turned red. As Naeun positioned the tip of the bottle to and tilted it slightly upwards, some of the soju spilled onto her white tank top, revealing her black bra underneath, and simultaneously catching the attention of the brunette.

"I've always found you hot, but this has got to be the first time I ever lusted over you," Bomi blurted out as she unconsciously stared at the blonde's black bra.

Naeun giggled and threw her arms around the brunette, pulling the latter closer. "Let's do it then," she said with a coquettish smile.
